We actually did not eat any food. We were served water by a lovely support staff person but the waiter never came to our table. After 15 minutes of no attention, we got up and left. This is the second time we experienced poor service. We went Walter Hansel and had the fantastic birthday dinner we had been hoping for.

We had an incredible time at Goldfinch. It was our first time in this area our first time in Sebastopol and at this restaurant. Our hostess, who was also our server was wonderful . Wonderful food Excellent oysters Great wine and cocktails Our bartender made the drinks perfectly for us The interior design was spot on and comfortable We will be back!

Goldfinch is lovely and very consistent. We have been many times and the food quality is excellent and incredibly consistent. A local treasure!

I searched Yelp for oysters and came across Goldfinch. We stopped in for lunch on a Thursday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised to find it quiet, allowing us to choose our own seating. We picked a roomy end booth--though a heads-up: the booths aren't anchored, so every time I got up, it slid and needed to be readjusted from the outside. Our server was friendly and helpful when we were choosing drinks. When I asked about the two rosé options, she had to refer back to the menu but ended up recommending the Ameztoi Rubentis Rosé. She offered a small sample, and I really enjoyed it so went with a glass. The drink menu was impressive, featuring a solid selection of local and French wines, a few specialty cocktails, a full bar, and a nice beer list. We ordered a few small bites to share, starting with a dozen Marin Miyagi oysters--perfectly sized and served with lemon and a light mignonette. I appreciated that they were super fresh and sourced locally from Tomales Bay. We also tried the Local Halibut Ceviche, which was beautifully presented with edible flowers that added a surprising but lovely flavor. Lastly, we had the Grilled Shrimp Skewer--four well-seasoned shrimp served over a small bed of dressed lettuce and roasted lemon. It felt like a bonus that the salad element was just as good as the shrimp. The interior décor is tastefully done--elegant yet inviting and fun. However, the one downside of our visit was the number of flies buzzing around inside. It was a hot day, so maybe that contributed, but it was distracting to see at least half a dozen flying around at any given moment. Hopefully, it was just a one time thing. Overall, I loved the food and the overall experience. I'd recommend checking it out if you're in the area--especially for the oysters and ceviche. The dishes are on the smaller and pricier side, but they're fresh and flavorful. While I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to return on a future visit, I'm definitely glad we tried it once.

First, on a busy weekend the staff accommodated our switch to an inside table. Very grateful. Second, the bar tender as both bar tender and waitstaff for us. On a very busy night, he kept on top of our needs, amazingly. Again very grateful. Lastly, The food was delicious. We had 1 ‘good’ dish out of the 4 - but starters were terrific (calamari and focaccia pull-a parts) and the Hanger steaks very yummy. We will return.

Chef's counter was fun - we could see all the cold food and fried food being made and plated. Food was excellent. Wish there were more gluten-free options. Our server was attentive even with it being Saturday night, Memorial Day weekend.

I have been wanting to go to Goldfinch for quite some time since hearing rave reviews on our local Nextdoor app. Oh my God the food - absolutely outstanding! What is so amazing about their menu is the small plates - you literally cannot go wrong with any of them. The wait staff was amazing and we will absolutely be going back. I just cannot get over how amazing the food and the experience was - thrilled to have this in our little town.
