This is a beautiful restaurant in all regards. The service was graceful and attentive yet always just out of sight. The dining room is beautiful and light, not too fussy. The food delicious. Why have we not been her sooner??? A very memorable meal and evening.
Goldener Hirsch had excellent food and service. Loved it!
Family ski trip with brothers. Dining and drinks were very good. There were some very loud tables near us however and our waiter seemed to disappear and another took over after a long absence.
We come back year after year. It never disappoints.
The decor could use some updating.
We enjoyed the "old world" feeling from Europe. Service was excellant and food was outstanding.
Charles was our Server and was so great! The cuisine was authentic and so delicious. The decor i felt i was back in Salzburg! We enjoyed the Fondue as a great shared appetizer, the Duck entree was fabulous and the Weiner Schnitzel was perfection. Don’t miss the
Apple Strudel with House made ice cream made by pastry chef. Delicious and reminded me of Vienna. No kidding. The GM Was on point and attentive to every table. We will be back!!! Thank you!
We had a wonderful lunch! Impeccable service, delicious bourbon hot chocolates and divine trout salads.
We have eaten here many times and enjoyed it but this time was a bit of a disappointment. Although it was late and there were tables available by the fire, we were seated in a high traffic area near the waiter station. The waiter continually interrupted us even though we told him early on we were in no rush. There was a server who continually coughed every time she passed us—was she sick? She should have stayed home. The beet salad was flavorless. It was much better in the past. The schnitzel was very good although we preferred the cranberry sauce that used to accompany the dish to the cranberry purée that was poured all over the plate. Finally, we have had the apple strudel in the past and were looking forward to it. However, it was what we kindly referred to as a “slab o struedel” or “brick of strudel.” It was way too large and the playing was amateurish.
A really cozy comfortable and quiet restaurant. It's perfect for when you actually want to have a dinner conversa.
Having lunch at Goldener is a perfect place to complement a great day of skiing at Deer Valley. Service, food and ambience are all top notch. I always look forward to my meal and spending time with friends and family at a special spot.
Excellent service, great food. Relaxed dining experience.
Wonderful place for sit down lunch on the slopes at a marvelous ski resort. Food and service excellent and the Austrian decor quite authentic and well done. Will go whenever I am in town.
Loved the lamb Loin dish! Excellent service by John and the lovely Augustina.
What a beautiful getaway from the hustle of the slopes and easy walking distance at mid mountain .. Everything was perfect . Don’t miss this magical treat.
A great place. Wonderful food and service as always. We’ve loved dining here every time. Will definitely be back.
We have been to The Goldener Hirsch 4 times now and have always had an excellent experience on all levels. The service, ambiance and food are all outstanding. This is an excellent pick for those special occasions.
We started the meal with their fabulous cheese fondue. Our table ordered the scallops, two had Wienerschnitzel, and an order off the Steelhead trout. Delicious and beautifully presented! Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our meal and our wine!
We have been going to the Goldener Hirsch for years and have enjoyed their consistently excellent food and service. This year, however, they outdid themselves. Their always excellent cheese fondue was over the top amazing as was everything else on the menu. Our server was top notch, as was the front desk staff. We will be back!!
Cheese fondue is excellent but overpriced. The schnitzel was sliced very thin and tough. Was better last year
Extroiddinary dining on every visit. The chef finds ways to make each meal special. Ideal for a romantic evening....good for a ski side lunch/brunch.
Still the best fondue around! Worth the visit just for that. Enough to make a light meal or lunch. Had Wiener schnitzel for main course. Huge portion of tender and thinly pounded and breaded veal over spaetzel. Really tasty. My wife had scallops which she raved about. My younger daughters opted for the kids menu which actually had a great choice of options. They both went with grilled cheese and tomato soup and the soup was so tasty I ended up having it. Overall, great meal, enjoyable evening.
Their cheese fondue is awesome It keeps me coming back year after year.
Nice cheese Fondue rest of the menu items were just ok.
This restaurant never disappoints
By far the best service and food of ANY restaurant in and around Park City. The fondue is amazing to start with and their signature Weinerschnitzel is a must.
We have been coming to Goldener Hirsch for 16 years and it was one of our favorite lunch place while skiing at Deer Valley.
This was our first visit since Deer Valley took over management. Loved the addition of the beef with the fondue but we got two fondues and one was perfect and the other one was too think. Also the wiener schnitzel was tough and the berry sauce was not appealing.
We usually have a leisurely lunch and hey ruched us out after spending $300 for lunch.
Hope they can get their act together.
A tremendous dining experience- our waiter James was fabulous!
We had duck and scallops, and could not have asked for more from either, or our server, Tara, who was attentive and a pleasure. Great meal with elements that threw back to my childhood. Bacon Bourbon Hot Chocolate should be ordered.
This restaurant had a great atmosphere and we enjoyed having dinner until a party of 12 came in and 6 were children. Unfortunately, it wasn't the best atmosphere for a special occasion or romantic dinner.
Not quite the original in Salzburg, where we've been several times before, but very good food and European feel. We were the only 2 people in the restaurant since it is off season in Park City, but that meant good service and special attention from the entire staff and kitchen. My wife and I were both pleased with everything, but hard to fully judge the restaurant without a larger group of people in the dining room. They do need to expand their Gruner Veltliner selection if they want to be considered Austrian - they only have one on the wine list. This is one of those very annoying places on Open Table that calls to confirm your reservation even though it has been confirmed on Open Table, and in this case, guaranteed with a credit card. This is a ridiculous practice used by only most egotistical of restaurants, and I usually cancel my reservation when they do it, but went ahead this time - although I never called back to confirm. Why was it such a big deal for them when we were the only 2 in the restaurant? Whenever one comes to a resort area, you expect to be gouged in pricing, but Golden Hirsch is grossly overpriced, particularly for the off season. We paid about double what we paid at Firewood on Main for a very good meal the night before.
We were visiting from out of town and this restaurant was so outstanding it would be worth another trip! As someone who eats out almost every single night it is very hard to impress me - but this one did. It was definitely a 10.
We've enjoyed the Goldener Hirsch restaurant many times and hope to do so many more.
Good experience, but the meal wasn't as good as we've had here in the past...the chef has a "more is more" philosophy, as there were wayyy too many flavors/things on each plate. Our waitress was all over the place to boot. Not sure if she had more tables than usual or what. Just wasn't the great experience we've had here other times. 👎🏼
From the friendly greeting at the door all the way through our meal -- it was truly a fabulous evening.
Goldener Hirsch has spectacular food choices. We have never been disappointed with the chef's creations which utilize many local foods. We enjoyed the strawberry gazpacho, the Wiener schnitzel, the roasted chicken and the Dover sole. For dessert, the coffee was perfect and the cherry chip ice cream was a big hit!! Our friends from out of state loved the experience.
Great Job Goldener Hirsch!!
Bast wiener schnitzel outside of Munich. Classy restaurant with a genuine
Bavarian feel. Service is always top notch. Good selection of draft beers to
accompany your entree.
Fantastic lunch with old friends! Our server was very informative and helpful with selections and options. Very "homey" in a tourist village. Loved it, thank you!
So authentically Deer Valley. Felt like I was in Austria. Delicious food. Five star service. Great
Great dining experience! Food was excellent, service was great, and it was nice to be able to have a fine dining experience that was quiet enough for conversation. The ambience is lovely. Highly recommend the fondu as an appetizer (shared by 6 of us). Pairs well with Gruner Vetliner wine. The Wiener Schnitzel was seasoned to perfection and had great texture. The halibut was delicately seasoned and had a myriad of complex yet light flavors. We finished the evening off with a shared chocolate fondu which came with fruit, cookies, cake, and the most wonderful pistachio marshmallows. We've enjoyed the Goldener Hirsch in Salzburg and we ere pleasantly surprised to find such an authentic Austrian dining experience in our own backyard.
Best cheese fondue I've ever had, and the ribeye steak was amazing too. Ate too much and didn't have a chance to try the chocolate fondue.
