   Food was average, schnizel was dry and steak was nothing to write home about. Service was somewhat slow, but the Old Fashioned was the best so far in Deer Valley. This seems to be a go to place for fondue.

   we had a great diner. we started at the bar for a drinks first. it was very fun to watch the bar tender mixing cocktails. our table was nice, service was excellent and the food delicious. definitely a place where we will go back!

   I knew this was a very pricey restaurant but wanted to try the fondue as a fun treat for a friend. The cheese fondue was good but there was not enough fondue for the dipping items provided. When we mentioned this to the server he said yes that is a problem. For $59 for cheese fondue the portion should be larger. The dessert fondue dipping items were not very good and we left much on the plate. The cost for cheese and chocolate fondue and 3 drinks with tip was $200.

    Really delicious food. Two of us shared the cheese bread starter, a salad and the Weiner Schnitzel, and there was plenty of food. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly and had great suggestions for our meal. I would go back to try the Fondue, as it looks delicious as well.

    Goldener Hirsch is always a favorite part of our annual visit to Deer Valley. This year we were lucky to spend Valentine's Day eating dinner here. The main dining room is intimate and warm feeling for lunch or dinner and the Alpine specialties perfectly compliment a mountain vacation. The Cheese Fondue is our favorite starter and everything on the menu is well-prepared.

    We have been coming to Deer Valley for the past 5 years and had dinner each time at Goldener. This time however was much different and not in a positive way. The food is always good and in particular the fondue. It was good on this occasion as well. What really set things off the rails and they were simple things to correct was the heat inside was oppressive. It was easily 80+ degrees . Not a comfortable dining experience. We asked to cool down the room and they did something to maybe bring it down a little below 89 but within 20 minutes it was back the the oppressive uncomfortable temperature as before. Again not enjoyable and ruined the evening. Once we suffered through eating in the heat we received the check. We have always brought our wine as we enjoy certain wines that this restaurant does not have. Of course there is a corkage fee which is fine and we have been happy to pay it in the many previous years. This year however when we received the bill the corkage fee was $50 a bottle. This was much higher than the previous year and just ridiculous compared to the many restaurants we eat at in the park city areas and around the world. There was no mention as they offered to open our wine bottles they were charging $50 a bottle. While the food is good and has been a tradition for us every years we will no longer suffer sitting in a sauna through dinner and paying exorbitant corkage fees ever again.

    food was greatly disappointing every meal we had here during our stay. lacked flavor, lamb tasted like a new york strip, just over all really lacking in quality. salmon was so fishy. bread was stale.

    We come to the Golden Hirsch to have the fondue. Always a great experience for my family. Excellent service and food. Everything is delicious. Great drinks. We will continue to make this a go to when we travel to Park City.

    Not seated for our 7:30 reservation until 8:05. Waited another 15 minutes before server appeared. Drink order was very slow and appetizers arrived before drinks. Food was very good. A nice evening, but service was poor compared to prior visits.

    Great ambiance & service. Very average food. The interiors are beautiful & look like a European ski chalet. Service was exceptional. We had the cheese bread appetizer (good), but the signature schnitzel dish was bland and slightly greasy. Salmon dish was average. Would recommend only for happy hour drinks or hot chocolate/ coffee.

    We went for my wife's birthday The ambiance is very nice and the staff and manager were very friendly and accommodating The meals and the sides were very good unfortunately the special chicken dish we had to send back twice but the manager was very professional in handling the situation The duck was one of the best I ever had

    We love coming here for lunch when skiing on our Annual Deer Valley Ski trip. Always so warm and cozy . We love the Austrian Ambiance. The food and the service always wonderful. I always have the Weiner Schnitzel ❤️👍

    Golden Hirsch is primed to be the most devastatingly sorry excuse for a 'fine dining' experience in Park City. The wiener schnitzel that I ordered (which happens to be the house special) was bland and the apple butter sauce the accompanied the meal was reminiscent of a topping made to accompany a frozen dinner. Very similar to the marinara sauce provided in a fridays mozzarella cheeze stick package. The breading on the schnitzel was alright, however the unflavored rubber blanketed within the outer shell of carbs made the overall meal a slog to consume after a day on the slopes; and the dull knife graciously provided by the server did not make matters easier. For a ~$100 meal per patron I expected a lot more, and I left the restaurant feeling sad, cheated, and regretful. However, now I know that I can stick to stoufers and gleefully enjoy a better meal than I had last night. If you are looking to throw down a ton of money on average to lower mediocre food and feel pompous while doing it, I would recommend Golden Hirsch. If you are a foodie on a budget that appreciates getting your money's worth and an edible meal, I would look elsewhere.

    My husband and I ordered the fondue as a meal. My only criticism would be that some of the veggies were cold , such as the potatoes and broccoli , and they didn’t really warm up after being swirled in the cheese . But we were pleased that adding one protein made it a complete meal. The apple strudel was ok , but I would choose something else next time. The service and atmosphere were wonderful.

    I have enjoyed lunch at the Goldener Hirsch during ski season for over 15 years. While the lunch menu has always been a little on the heavy side, the ambience of the restaurant has always outweighed anything lacking on the menu. This year the menu has strayed far from being a desirable skiers menu. Entrees are too heavy and too unusual for a fun lunch on a ski day. Please bring back some of the menu favorites.
