The food is not like used to be very poorly prepared and be prepared to pay a high price. Very disappointing. The prices are much much higher then listed on Open Table
Food was precise - classic, yet fresh; service was incredibly well intentioned if uneven at moments; the only thing that detracted from the experience was the behavior of the adjacent diners whose insistence on playing YouTube videos of their past glories and having their cellphone beep on full blast was quite detracting from the quiet alpine ambiance.
Joe was our server and he was wonderful, professional and fun. Our dinners were delicious and perfectly presented and served. We are local and are so thrilled to have such a gem within our reach.
Spectacular warmth and graciousness on arrival that continued throughout our dinner. Food and service at the top of their game. Highly recommended.
Select menu with delicious choices. Authentic upscale Austrian motif. Fine wine list. Knowledgeable service. We have been to the Goldener Hirsch since it's opening and find it even more pleasing as the years progress.
Delicious food great drinks and loved the half bottle of wine option!
Gilbert our server, made our night special. Thanks for a lovely evening.
All a lovely experience, except for the difficult and disruptive child at the next table.
We have not been there since Deer Valley took over management. Everything was crazy salty. The quality of the food felt like eating at Disneyland. They know there is a theme but that is about the extent of it. Sad, it was a favorite but just won’t go back.
Great place to get away from crowds and have an elegant relaxed meal. The food is not 5 star but everything they make is well done
Great food and great service!
Food used to be so good, service really slow service
The service was impeccable - attentive and thoughtful, and the food was outstanding as always!
We enjoyed the fondue (which included the more rare Vacherin, a great delight) -- with added beef. It was absolutely delicious, served swiftly by appropriately efficient staff. The broccoli was steamed just right, and this, with the green apple, cornichons, and grapes, were excellent dipping accompaniments. This first course was exactly what we hoped for; it proved sumptuous enough for a dinner. The price with added beef was $88.00 (generous portions for two people), which seems a bit expensive... but, given the setting of the immaculate and beautifully decorated dining room within the resort, not surprising. I am going to tell all of my local friends and visitors to enjoy the Goldener Hirsch.
The good: wait staff, wine list
The bad: unfortunately everything else - heirloom salad had a really funky flavor, halibut special was very dry, $26 burger was barely ok
The ugly: I know they're going for a certain theme, but bar area tables and chairs look like they came from a garage sale
Really don't like to give bad reviews, and happy to pay for a good meal, but this place should really be better given the prices. Also, menu on OpenTable did not match actual menu so heads up
A lovely place to dine and excellent food! We will return! Thank you!
The service and food were spectacular. The pull apart Bavarian bread is a must! The lamb chops were some of the best my husband has ever had! Great wine list - the bottle of Bordeaux was perfect! Location is great and the outside patio is perfect!
The best fondue in Northern America. Outstabding service and great wine selection. Overall terrific experience!
Great vibe with great food!!
It was awful. We actually had to clear our own table
Our waiter, and everyone that works there was amazing! Incredible service and the food was outstanding! I had the special, halibut, and the spicy mango margarita was spectacular! We will be back!
Beautiful restaurant, great menu - but their signature dish, the Wiener Schnitzel, was an abomination. It arrived looking like a big deflated football, smothering the veggies and spaetzle. I love this dish but their presentation was borderline bizarre. Second, the veal was razor thin and not very moist as a result. There wasn't enough cranberry, but the waiter never came back until our main course was taken away. Overall - a very bad experience. I would still recommend the restaurant because one bad waiter and dish can't ruin the whole review - just my dish.
Very expensive and the food was just ok. The service was excellent.
Slow start on service, but better as evening went on.
Everyone in our party enjoyed the food , service and ambiance of the restaurant. We all thought it should have a Michelin Star.
Relaxed atmosphere great food and service everything you want from a high end restaurant
Poor reception when we arrived for our reservation. The meal was underwhelming in relation to their reviews and reputation.and expensive in relation to what they served us. It was our ten year anniversary and their complementary dessert for both of us was a large tablespoon portion of ice cream. Overrated, under-executed and overpriced. There are better places to dine in PatkCity/ Deer Valley.
Fantastic food and incredible service! My spicy mango margarita was incredible too. We will be back for sure. 😊
We had a very welcoming host, a knowledgeable waiter, quick service, and excellent fare. Highly recommended for an upscale option.
daniel did a fantastic job of taking care of us including recommendations. we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and walked out stuffed :-).
Everything was delicious. Service was great. Perfect setting outside on the patio.
I was generally pleased but two issues that will keep me from going there again anytime soon: (1) bartender didn't know how to make a Manhattan and (2) the meat in my Viener Schnitzel was very dry, as if it was cooked hours before and just reheated. For a signature dish, this is not really what I would find acceptable.
Servers were all incredible, fun and knowledgeable about all ingredients and preparation of food.
Lovely ambiance and nice view of the mountains.
My ultimate favorite item was the MP house salad. It had so many delectable flavors especially the grilled peaches.
Can't wait to return and try the fondue and other popular items.
The place seems very tired and out dated. Our server was great but the food was definitely not worth the price. Pretty disappointed.
We had the opportunity to dine at the Goldener last night and it never disappoints. Sat outside and the temp was perfect and chef Dylan always has a great menu. Carrie always remembers you when you come in. Great job team!!!!!
Exceptional Service from the Hostess to the Waiter !
Delicious preparation, lovely setting, professional waitstaff!
Very good food, service. Coffee was not hot enough.
Excellent service and food.
