College graduation. Staff was so nice and friendly! Food was great!
HORRIBLE. I think the waiter was alone in the large restaurant because we almost never saw him. Food was not good, so good thing portions were tiny. 3 small pieces of chicken in our chicken stir fry. Rice arrived 1/2 hour after entrees and was crunchy. This was my daughter's graduation dinner, so meant to be a good experience. Instead it was awful.
The waiter did a very poor job in bringing our food. It came at all different times. He did not seem to be bothered by it at all.
To be fair, it was Mother’s Day, the worst day in the restaurant industry. Despite having a reservation, the waiting area was packed with parties (including us) waiting to be seated. The servers were overwhelmed with the volume. Two soups didn’t arrive until after the entrees. Those things I understand on a crazy day like that. But the food was truly sub-par. Golden Temple is expensive and “upscale” Chinese food. But the food we got was no better than what you’d get at a strip mall carryout joint. We have been coming to GT for over 25 years, but I think this visit will be our last. I don’t recommend. It’s not worth the hype and price.
Food was greasy, oily, cold. Would not return.
Food was pricey and nothing special Hot and sour soup was room temperature and entrees didn’t come with rice or veg. No green tea ice cream either
Service was horrible. The guy who seated us was the best thing there. The waiter we had was horrible. Every time someone had a question about something he would walk away from the table really fast before everyone was finished ordering. He also DEMANDED that we leave him a certain amount of money for a tip. I thought that was based on quality of service,no?
This is the best Chinese restaurant. I have been to many Chinese restaurants and Golden Temple is outstanding. The food is not greasy at all and the menu is extensive.
First time there with my husband-great food and fun ambiance! Will definitely return!
great place. grew up going there but the prices are extremely high for chinese food these days.
Took the family out to the Golden Temple again. The service can sometimes be a tad slow, but if your not in a hurry, its a great place for dinner. We compare this place to the Kowloon in Saugus. We find the rice at Kowloons just a bit better (both good), but everything else is better here.
Sat at the bar this time for dinner. Bartender fantastic. Service great food excellent. Great experience. May end up eating at bar again when she bartends. Great service. Back again and now added as double favorite.
Golden Temple was always one of our favorite restaurants but sadly we will not be returning. The food quality has gone sharply downhill. The crispy orange beef was chewy and mushy. The chicken fingers were swimming in grease on the platter and the chicken teriyaki had the consistency of plastic. The dumplings had no taste and the beef teriyaki was extremely chewy. We also observed a fellow diner feverishly sawing at a piece of teriyaki with a knife trying to cut through it. Absolutely inedible. The restaurant was barely busy and for 7:30 on a Saturday night that was quite unusual. Now we know why. Also, the walls beside our booth were filthy. Prices were very high which means we wasted $100.00 on a meal that we were unable to eat. Save your money and choose a different restaurant.
Been going here for many years- always excellent!
Great place to meet friends. Healthy food available. Always enjoy it.
Delicious food, fantastic service. I will not order wine there unfortunately, because there prices are far too high. (Went up considerably in the past few months). I think for a Chinese restaurant an $8 or $9 dollar is the most a glass of Chardonnay should cost.
Hostess sat us all the way in the back where no one was, food was okay, the waiter stood in front of us to make sure he was getting a tip as we left another couple were seated all the way in the back also. All others were seated in the front. Will not go back again.
Best Chinese food!!!
High quality food in a lovely restaurant! Only suggestion for improvement would be to repair tears in seating.
Golden Temple is comsistant, a neighborhood go to, great for large or small groups or for the special occasion. We came in and had some of our usual Golden Cloud Niodles and BBQ Ribs.
Always great food!
Really great food. I happened to be dining with someone who knows the chef, so we got awesome recommendations, but we had so many appetizers that I can say with confidence - they're all good. I would especially recommend the pot stickers, scallion pancakes, and ribs (on the bone). Also some of the best chicken tenders/sweet n sour chicken that I've had - breaded perfectly.
Good bartender on hand as well - definitely not light on the alcohol. I ordered a sour apple margarita, which normally would sound like it doesn't go with chinese food at all, but it was probably one of the best drinks I've ever had, and good drinks go with everything.
Very consistent and delicious. Ginger lobster is amazing. Best boneless chicken fingers at any Chinese restaurant. Stoli Doli drink is phenomenal although they stole the name from the Capital Grille. Been coming here for years and love it.
Again fabulous service. Love the new manager at front door very welcoming
The best is the fresh food. Best food in the area by far. Mai this speak for themselves. A must visit
Great place. Ginger lobster is outstanding.
The food was wonderful and our waiter was very funny. I was a blow to decorate nicely for my grandmother without any issues.
Very friendly and professional staff. Food came out super quick and was tasty. We came on a Tuesday after 9 so it was very slow. Beautiful inside
Fantastic food and service. Had a drink at bar before dinner and ended up eating g at bar. A special note. The gentleman greeting us at the front door is a huge plus. I gave up faith in customer service with the younger generation after a few bad experiences. But hats off to your choice. Sorry I didn’t get your name but. Making service great again should be your motto. Thanks for the welcome
We’ve loved the Golden Temple for years. Always delicious food
Food was great, but I am having a real problem with the new alcohol menu. Prices for wine are ridiculously high!!!!!!
I love a glass of wine but refuse to pay the new prices.
In the past the ambience looked better, more lush and nice looking. However, I found the dining area rather blah and dull. And some of my stand bys like Peking Raviloi and Scallion pancakes were not on the menu...a little sad for this. Overall, the food was delicous and the service was outstanding.
Always consistent, always delicious and the staff are always awesome!!! My fav place, won’t go to any other Chinese restaurant!!!!
The valet told me to pay in advance and said he didn’t have change. So I ended up over paying. There was another guy there when I got my car. Didn’t know about overpayment.
The food was very mediocre. Not worth taking any leftovers.
Overpriced. Drinks were OK. Mostly ice.
We went to celebrate Valentine's Day. The restaurant was decorated with roses and each patron received a love note at their place setting quoting various famous authors. The food was delicious, the service was attentive, the price was reasonable. We look forward to returning soon.
The overall service was ok. I have been to Golden Temple many times but this time I found the portions of rice and lobster sauce to be very small. All of our food was very salty! The lettuce under the salt and pepper lobster, chicken wings, lobster sauce. I might recommend the Temple to family and friends but I would tell them to ask the chef to go easy on the salt!! I don't think that I got my money's worth on Valentine's day!!
Fantastic. This is the freshest and best Chinese food anywhere in and near Boston. Superb. That’s why we keep coming back
Great, quality food - never disappoints - will be back soon!
Always have a delicious meal at golden temple. Have enjoyed this place for the last 40 years.
