AMAZING service and food :D !!!
I enjoyed my visit here on Tuesday evening. Had a drink at the bar before sitting down for supper. Place was quite on Tuesday night. Service was good and food was tasty. Drinks are good but pricey.
Always enjoy going to Golden Temple. The food is always fresh and delicious. The staff is always friendly and warm. One of the best spots in my neighborhood by far.
Great food and nice staff.
This place has been consistently good for years. Very accommodating to special requests and always fresh delicious food. They are my fave place for crab Rangoon but I have to say it seems to have a little less crab than the usual. Could be it was just this time. Hopefully that’s the case.
I’d recommend them no problem.
I’ve been coming here for many many years and it’s always been a favorite of mine for any occasion. I had a going away party here with about 50 people and great fun, food, drinks and dancing was had by everyone! It’s a great place to come during a holiday or snowstorm!
Food was cold
Good food. Shared with 6 others
I found the food not well prepared. The sauces were goopy and not well stirred into the food. The food came so quickly, it almost seemed not well cooked.
Golden Temple is a longtime favorite, but I think the quality has declined.
Always a blast going to Golden Temple with a group of friends. The service is always superb and quick; the food is always delicious; and the drinks are always strong (looking at you scorpion bowls)! Friday night DJ dancing at Golden Temple has been one of my favorite memories of living in Boston
Food was excellent and they surprised us with a delicious cake for my birthday!!!
I had wonderful service it was excellent the interior of the resturant is absolutely beautiful it's very cozy.
Food was not great and the drinks were overpriced.
We began with an order of egg rolls. They were hot with a crispy outside. Inside was veggies and pork. “He” had house special lo mein and thoroughly enjoyed it. The leftovers were still delicious a day and a half later. “She” ordered chicken chow foon but got beef. That could have been an issue for other people. In this case, it was not. It was delicious.
Two inedible dishes out three. Black bean sauce out of a vat. Tofu had bizarre texture. A disaster and we resolved never to come back.
Golden Temple always delivers on food quality and freshness. We got Golden Temple fried rice, Golden Temple Ribs and salt and pepper calamari. All were excellent, but prices are high. For 3 dishes and 2 drinks we paid $80 and left still feeling hungry. Also have to pay to park on street at meter or valet park. Good for a treat.
Went there for New Years Eve dinner. There was no mention of a “Special Menu” when they called to confirm the reservation but they made sure to tell me that there was a per person minimum. All the items on the menu (except for the appetizers) were not your typical run of the mill, simple items that most people like. And they were totally unwilling to accommodate and special requests and were extremely rude about it. So if you have any food allergies or dislikes, oh well. Not good for a restaurant if you ask me! Of course they jack the prices way up because it was New Years and give you smaller portions. To make matters worse our food arrived cold. We will not be going back.
This was the eighth New Years in a row we have come to this restaurant. It has always been one of our favorites and we looked forward to our one time a year there and this year was a terrible experience! Our service was slow and not attentive. The dishes on the table were all scratched up and looked dirty. We were sitting at the table for ten minutes before she even came over to ask us if we wanted a drink. They have always had a half menu on New Years but this year they took of the beef and broccoli. We had food on the table before the drinks were served and when the drinks finally got there, our friend had to remind the server that she ordered tea. I ordered a peachy heaven and it was delivered in a filthy glass and had things floating in it with sentiments at the bottom of the glass. The drink they brought to replace it was a completely different drink than I ordered but I didn’t want to wait another ten minutes for yet another drink so I didn’t say anything. The food was delivered cold but over cooked and it was all a mess. Did not taste or look fresh at all.
All in all, we have come to expect a lot out of this restaurant and this time we were totally let down. They stopped giving out their champagne glasses out a couple of years ago and since then it has just gone down hill for us. It’s sad to say but I think it’s time to find a new place to celebrate the New Years.
Consistent in terms of food.
Service could be better.
We have been on New Years Eve in the past. This year noticeably absent were the festive decorations, (silver and gold balloons and streamers throughout ) and wait staff!!!. We were seated on time, then waited and waited for a server. Ordered drinks and appetizers at the same time. They came together! and ordered main dishes. Items we wished to order we were told "we are out of it" at 6PM.
No buspersons, no runners. A scant number of servers were clearing tables, delivering food and cashing out.
After a long time determined to be 45 min based on the party across from us who has not even been greeted in 45 min. I had to get up, go to the hostess desk and ask for the check.!!!
Turns out the club soda with a splash of cranberry and lime was $6.75. Only cranberry juice...no lime, no club soda....NO TIP! We generally tip 20%.
The food was good but not up to usual standard. Terrible service!!!
.
We chose this for our New Year’s celebration. On the website the pictures were pretty and the menu sounded appetizing. The restaurant delivered on both and more. The staff was attentive and the noise level was great even though the restaurant was very busy. The food was fabulous. We look forward to coming back here soon.
Food was excellent especially the Golden Temple Ribs and the Steak Kew was cooked to perfection. Best Stoli Doli. Wish I lived closer as I would eat here every week.
Food was mediocre and not flavorful. Service was decent.
Always delicious, always fresh, never outdone! House-special ribs are a MUST. They're conscientious of any dietary restrictions. Always friendly and efficient.
The service was horrible. The waiter said they were getting lots of takeout orders keeping the kitchen busy. There were five of us. One entree was served and we waited at least 20-30 minutes for the second entree. That dish was cold. When the third entree didn’t arrive after another 20-30 minutes we took it to go. I won’t go back to this restaurant again.
Crab Rangoon very good. Pad Thai had no seasoning. Veg lo mein also bland. Spicy green beans were good.
Christmas is great at Golden temple. The food, drinks and relaxed atmosphere are perfect with family and friends.
Quality has gone way down. We were extremely disappointed.
We came for Christmas when we thought the restaurant would be prepared for a big crowd. It was a big mistake. They had a holiday menu which seemed to be their normal menu but with no flexibility to make any changes whatsoever to anything on the menu. The waiters were not helpful when we tried to ask for accommodations for two members of our party who had dietary restrictions. We ordered edamame which came out lukewarm and mushy - they couldn’t make another order that would be any better so they replaced it with a small order of spring rolls.
Not going back again. It used to be a great restaurant. For the past 1-2 years, the service has been consistently bad, the food is never hot when it is brought to the table, and it's not worth the price.
The place was busy but am glad I made the reservation ! Food is 99.99% good . Nice to see familiar faces where they know you as you know them .Had a nice time with family and friends
They overbook so you regularly have to wait, even with a reservation. Service and food have been on the decline lately and don't match up with the high prices. Glory days of Golden Temple are long gone.
Exceeded our expectations. Got us right in on Christmas Eve. Food was prompt and delicious. Drinks were amazing.
A special family dinner with very, very good food ruined by miserable service. After a round of drinks, our party of 4 ordered 2 appetizers and 5 dishes that we intended to share. They literally brought one dish out at a time, with about 5 minutes between each dish arrival and the next — and forgot two of our dishes. After all of the appetizers were done, then comes the fried rice, but no other dishes. Do we (a) eat it by itself, or (b) let it get cold while we wait for everything else? Well, we initially chose (b), until we realized this was how they they were serving. It wasn’t just us; the party across the aisle had what looked like a plate of lo mein show up after they were done eating everything else, and the server struggled to understand they’re request to send it back and remove it from the bill. Then, of the 4 drinks (all non-alcoholic) that we ordered during our prolonged one-dish-at-a-time meal, we only received two, but of course were charged for all 4. Not the type of service you’d expect at an upper scale and expensive restaurant.
Welcomed Christmas Eve and felt welcomed. Service and food were top notch.
Consistent and delicious every time I go !!!
This family owned restaurant is 5 star class !!!
Birthday date
My family has been dining her for 40 years. The quality has never changed. By far the best Chinese Restaurant you can find.
Enjoyed the evening, dinner and dancing.
Had not been here in a few years and wife and I decided to bring daughter for first time. Needless to say it was a major disappointment and highly overpriced for so so good. It started with our table being the first one downstairs from the bar area. With bar being full and bartender controlling the music at a high volume, did not make for a great dining experience. We all ordered cocktails and appetizers and I must say that the pork strips were outstanding. The dumplings came out warm and my daughter ordered the seaweed salad with mandarin oranges that could have fed the entire room. The GT special pad Thai was good, the shrimp with lobster sauce was just served warm and I had ordered pork fried rice with my dish which can out as I was finishing my entree. Our waiter in bringing out the main dishes took my daughters salad and placed it on a shelf behind her head...I couldn’t believe it and had my daughter take it down and place on the table once again. The server was polite and very nice but at 6:00pm at night, no excuse for problems with kitchen but it took forever to receive food and warm at best. For 3 people having appetizers, 2 entrees and a cocktail each, I thought $201 was pretty pricey for mediocre food.
