The food is always solid. However, our server was not knowledgeable about the liquor available for cocktails. She needs more training. Also, the establishment must do something about the fruit fly problem in the front room. They probably need to cover the fruit used at the bar. It's unbearable and this is not the first time I encountered it here. It makes me rethink any intentions I have of returning.

Golden Rule is always an elevated dining experience - a hip and chill vibe for a wonderful time with friends. Delicious food, yummy drinks, GR never disappoints.

You guys were out of the steak we wanted to order. The waitress forgot my drink a couple of times.

This place is in the eclectic little restaurant that is in an old house and has some very unique dining rooms. My husband and I love going here for dinner not so much brunch but the dinner is amazing!

Great food and service. Super bourbon selection. If you want the perfect shrimp and grits they have it! Friendly staff in masks.

We had Easter Brunch at the Golden Rule, greatly enjoyed the menu and ambience. I look forward to going back when they are serving their regular menu.

We really enjoyed the Easter brunch everything was so good. The bloody Mary’s and mimosas were on point. I will definitely be a returning customer.

Food and drinks were excellent! I was a little uncomfortable how close the 2 top tables were inside but overall would definitely go back!

Overall quality has diminished at GR. The pecan chicken was very small, and the white gravy was flavorless. The ceasar salad was sizable but too anchovy-ee (which was not mentioned in the menu description). The best thing on the menu is still the Brussels sprouts. We were also seated at a “cocktail table” about 24” in diameter which was not at all conducive to salad snd dinner plates.

Was there for happy hour. Appetizers were very good. The staff was great and friendly. It is nice to know Georgetown has nice restaurants like this one.

Our service was fair to poor. New wait staff was not very attentive to our needs. Just so-so. Ran out of waters. Didn’t ask me for drink order. Forgot to remove dirty plates once we finished our appetizers. Ran outta iced tea - this is Texas man.

However, cool vibe, good looking bar, great build out and design. Love the different seating options for every type of occasion and peeps.

Maybe an off day. Will give it another try next time we make it to Georgetown.

Food was delicious, everything we ate was great! Portion size of the elk burger was disappointing. Basically a junior burger. Ordered 4 different apps, all were excellent and the wagyu filet was perfection. To carry such a small beer selection it was disappointing they were out of one so early in the evening and then ran out of another within the first hour.
Server was great! Atmosphere was enjoyable. Will definitely be back.

We love Golden Rule and come at least twice a month if not more, but this time was a big miss. Our server was incredibly inattentive, service was very slow and sadly, all three of our entrees came out barely warm. First time we've had a poor experience so we'll just chalk it up to a fluke... see y'all soon!

Unfortunately, they stop serving dinner at 10pm. Yet, our reservation was for 10pm (Friday)through open table. The hostess didn’t mention it when we checked in, but our wonderful waitress, Katie did. She empathized and immediately took action and offered us to give her and the restaurant a chance to see if she could fix the problem by asking the kitchen staff to make an exception and prepare us a meal. They were understanding and kindly accommodated us, when they simply didn’t have to go above and beyond, but they did. Katie and the kitchen staff are a wonderful and perfect example of what excellent service entails. Katie deserves the same type of recognition by management and I truly hope she gets the opportunity to become a manager herself at this establishment, because it definitely has great potential overall.

We had great service. Our waitress was delightful and from Latvia! We had a wonderful conversation with her, a great dinner and dessert. This was a birthday dinner and that was noted when the reservation was made. The birthday was ot acknowledged during the dinner.

Very limited entree menu, cocktails not very good. Beer was good. Server was good once she got going. believe she was new and in training. Food quality was ok.

I will not return to this restaurant. We made a reservation and were seated on what seemed like a front porch. It was cold and when we asked for a heat lamp we were told they were out of propane. The drinks are expensive and the menu is very small. The food was horrible, especially for the price. My husband ordered the Mac&Cheese as a side and we honestly thought it was Kraft...he needed a spoon instead of a fork to eat it. I had the Shrimp and Grits and there were shells in my grits, so one got lodged in my throat. We didn't stay long but spent close to 100$. It was a high price to pay for a lousy dinner.

Staff were welcoming and our waiter was extremely nice. Mask wearing is protocol for all employees. The bar drinks and food were delish! Very good vibe there!

This is a fantastic place in downtown Georgetown. The owners got everything right. It's a beautiful multi-dimensional space including outdoor dining and bar. The food was unique and excellent. The service was spot on. We can't wait to go back!

This was the first time we visited under recommendation of a friend and was very happy! Food, service, and drinks were all great! Specifically recommend the Hondo Old Fashioned, brussels sprouts, and carne asada fries. We sat outdoors and greatly enjoyed the atmosphere.

Our favorite place!

We're really enjoying Golden Rule! We always sit on the patio - servers are super friendly and service is top notch. We've now had the carne asada fries, queso, guac, shrimp, brussel sprout, pimento cheese and deviled egg apps - all great! And we've had the fried chicken, shrimp and grits, steak, bologna sandwich and the smash burger and they're all outstanding! ( We had a reservation and the hostess rolled her eyes when we told her we were happy to sit on the railing. Just didn't want to take up a big table but made a reservation to ensure we had a seat! Next time, will mention that in notes.) Looking forward to our next visit!

Best service and food quality for the price ever! Food is fresh and inventive. Cocktails are the same!

Even though we made a reservation, we ended up being sat at the bar. It ended up being totally fine since the bartender was very friendly and attentive. The food was tasty and the mimosas were strong. :-) I do wish they had more original brunch menu items.

So creative with their delicious food and the drinks are insanely good. Friendly bartenders who go out of their way to make your experience special.

We have been to the Golden Rule twice now. The food and drinks have been amazing everytime. The servers are very attentive to customers needs and knowledgeable about the menu. We will continue to come back!
