Food was excellent. The service was very weak. Not typical for a DeShantz restaurant. Our server appeared discombobulated. It shouldn’t take an hour to broil a piece of black cod. He disappeared for almost 30 minutes until I chased him to see what was taking so long. The remainder of my party already had finished their food long ago. No excuse for a 5:15 reservation when the restaurant was nearly empty. He then presented our check when we wanted dessert. Will likely return but not with the same server.

We had an amazing dining experience at the counter. Staff was very respectful, amazing ambiance and incredible food. Drinks are great too. We will definitely be back!

Food and service were incredible. Cocktails were beautifully crafted, the ingredients and flavors in all of our dishes were fresh and perfectly seasoned. Staff were very friendly and made great recommendations and helped us have a great time. I’m looking forward to going again

My friend and I came in for the first time and had such a wonderful time! The cocktails were exquisite and the sushi was such good quality. The ambiance is great despite not having tables and only bar seating. Definitely will be back!

Delicious sushi, imaginative cocktails, and a gorgeous interior make this place a standout. There isn’t a children’s menu, but most kids will be satisfied with the fried chicken or potstickers if they’re not adventurous enough for sushi.

We had an excellent dinner celebrating my birthday! There was an outpouring of kindness from the staff and kitchen when they found out we were celebrating, and it was just amazing dish after dish. We are repeat diners at Golden Gai and this again solidifies for us that they are one of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh.

I was anticipating trying Golden Gai as we love Gi Jin. I cannot express how wonderful everything was from the ambiance the wait staff the food, drinks. Definitely would recommend we ordered 5 dishes for 2 which was plenty for ourselves.
