The food at this charming restaurant was delicate and delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Their mixology menu was interesting too.
The food was absolutely fabulous. I got the rack of lamb and orzo and haven't had such good lamb in 40 years. The orzo was also delicious!
My husband got the Horiatiki salad and Salmon...both of which he thoroughly enjoyed.
We shared the roasted beets and the Mushroom Ragout which were exquisite.
Larry got a glass of Pinot Noir, which he enjoyed. My drink was a spritzer that I don't see listed on their online menu, but it was delicious (fizzy and sweet).
Since everything on the menu is ordered individually, the prices are extravagant but well worth the expenditure for a very special occasion.
We have put this restaurant on our list of places that should be visited again.
Service was exactly what it should have been. We went at 5 pm and we were the only people in the place. by 7 pm on a Wednesday night, the place was hopping.
Cannot go wrong with menu selections - even blindfolded! All the reasons why we dine out - including pleasant staff and fabulous food. I enjoy the outside courtyard seating when weather permits.
Amazing, quaint little place to eat near the Grove Park Inn.
The food was fantastic. Unfortunately even with reservations we were seated in the bar. The music was lovely but a little too loud to converse easily with my dinner partner. The service was poor. Server was inattentive and dramatic.
We found this hidden gem that is walking distance from the Grove Park Inn, where we were staying with family for a quiet weekend. This was the perfect spot for our first night. The food had good portions, and wonderful flavor, with a Mediterranean flare. Our group tried a variety of the dishes—the ribeye (which was served on a really large wooden plate/tray), grilled octopus, and the trio spread. All was wonderful. This is on the list for a place to visit again when we are in Asheville! Our desert was a wonderful mixture of tastes and textures!
My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here while visiting Asheville. The wait staff was professional and warm. I really don’t drink mixed drinks but a “Santorini Sling” was suggested. It was so refreshing without being sweet. We shared the fried cheese and horiatiki. Then I had a wood fired whole bronzini. So delicious!! They are so authentic and use such good ingredients. I cannot say enough complimentary things about this pleasant surprise. The Golden Fleece will make you experience Greek cuisine at its best.
Steve! Thank you so much for such an outstanding review! We take a lot of pride in our fresh local ingredients and authentic Greek menu. We look forward to hosting you at our table again soon!
Wonderful meal with friends out on the patio. From a neighborhood restaurant price standpoint, it's definitely a special occasion restaurant. Food was good, service was great, and the patio on a summer evening was exceptional!
WOW! Thank you so much for such an outstanding review. We look forward to hosting you again soon.
What more can I say... we won't be going back! The food was all substandard, there was no ambiance and we felt ignored by wait staff - it was a weekday, it wasn't that busy!
This restaurant could be a GEM but it is not due to it's poor training of its waiters, noise level and sitting next to large very loud groups. The outside is wonderful to sit but the inside is very stressful. Dining is not only about food, it is about being able to 'enjoy' your food. We told our waitress that the wine was too warm to drink and she said OK and walked away, no solution offered. When we then ordered a second glass of the white wine as we could not drink the red wine, it arrived at our table after we had finished dinner. Again, she just taught that was OK...
Sad, we have tried this place now 3 times and it is not what it should be. It could be SO much better if the owners/mngrs/their team had their heart in it...
We really enjoyed celebrating our anniversary there. The food was excellent, the ambiance charming, and the service very sweet and personable. The live music was pretty good. Unfortunately, five friends arrived and gathered by the bar. Between them and the music we could no longer talk. My husband made a reservation for 5:30 to avoid this. He called back to confirm and asked if we could change the reservation to 6:00. He was told no because they were all full up yet there were empty tables the whole time we were there. We left at 7:15.
Food was excellent, music was a little loud. The waiter needed to be more responsive to filling glasses, at this level of restaurant I should not have to ask twice to have my glass filled?
Overall , a good experience and I would visit again, with hopefully better service.
The baked feta was delicious! This is a hidden gem right near the Grove Park Inn. We went for lunch and it was amazing!
Thank you, Lauren!
Eat here with my vegetarian daughter. We had a blast! Food was mostly small plates so we shared almost everything. Our waitress was a gem! Food is spectacular quality and delicious. We will be back.
Beautiful outdoor seating with delicious, forward thinking, unique menu. We came back again for more.
Excellent restaurant, food was delicious and ambiance was very cute and romantic
Terrific place - electric decor and delightful food - so enjoy coming here for lunch and dinner.
Bloody Mary was great, food was fair, service was poor. This was our 3rd time here and will probably be our last. We really wanted to like this neighborhood restaurant but it has consistently disappointed us.
Excellent local food, one of the best restaurants in Asheville.
As always, fantastic food and excellent staff.
Great food, great service wonderful place to sit in and soak up beautiful ambiance. The Graviera Saganaki was spectacular, no flame, but beyond delicious. The fireside slow roasted chicken was cooked perfectly, moist and smokey yummy. The lamb phyllo envelopes were great!! We only wished we could taste everything on the menu. (maybe some day)
What a really nice place this is!!
Close to the Grove Park Inn (wAlking distance) in a beautiful setting.
Our server, Laura (i think) was awesome and had great insights on the food menu, the drinks, and set a great standard of service. The craft cocktails we ordered were incredible, as was the wine. We had the trio appetizer because everything sounded amazing. It did not disappoint. And then shared small veggie plates as well as the lamb special. Holy moly, my mouth is salivating just thinking back to it. I'll definitely be bringing friends here again.
A heads up, the prices aren't cheap, but because the plates are shareable, you can keep it moderately thrifty.
Every dish was outstanding. Waitress was attentive, knowledgeable, and pleasant. A bit pricey but worth it. We ordered too much food as portions were generous.
Brought guests from Kansas City who stated the rack of lamb was one of the best they had ever eaten. As on our previous visits, food and service were excellent and ambiance allowed for good conversation at the table.
Wonderful quiet garden restaurant with quality food and service.
Delicious! Many unique offerings like the saganaki fried cheese; I don't see this on many Greek menus. Food is great, wait staff has a great knowledge of how the food tastes and are able to answer questions and give advice. We had an amazing wood fired branzino and a slw braised lamb shank. Very different but both were delicious. Also, the broccoli was outstanding! Plenty of gluten free, paleo, keto friendly options. I will be back.
Food was great. Location is hard to find and there isn’t signage but you drive into the Omni then take a right at the hotel entrance and the restaurant is on the right. Our service however was okay. They brought out red wine when we ordered white and forgot to put in one of the meals, overall service was also slow. Food was incredible and would still recommend.
Seemed a little chaotic at first, server seating couple before us. Told he would be our server, host took drink orders, then another server showed up and didn’t know order was taken. Food came out really fast, mine a couple of minutes before my husband’s and son’s. Was very good. Husband got the Easter lamb special and said it was tough. Desserts were excellent. A bit pricey, but we enjoyed ourselves. In and out for Easter blunch in an hour.
Beautiful space and amazing experience
As always an excellent meal. I did miss the trout dish, my favorite, and hope it returns. The new menu is full of delicious choices. This time I had the mushroom risotto which was perfect for a cool evening. The drink special was a potent and lovely mint julep. It was my husbands 70th birthday and it was a special night.
Food was great (well, chicken could have been a bit more moist honestly).
Matthew was a fabulous server.
Enjoyable ambiance; excellent wait service; good food selection, all excellently prepared and presented. Will definitely return and recommend to friends.
Quiet little surprise with excellent Mediterranean food.
We really enjoyed this lovely restaurant in Grovewood Village. The food, service and ambience were excellent. It was a great finale to our stay in Asheville.
This is such an outstanding restaurant for lunch and dinner. The menu is more Mediterranean/Greek, but it has something to offer for people who may want a great burger or something else instead. Our meal was wonderful! We can’t wait to return for a third time!
Lovely breakfast right on the Grove Park grounds. I was nervous about taking elementary age kids, but they enjoyed the food and atmosphere too.
All went well...food and service was very good
