Gold Mirror Italian Restaurant
The Gold Mirror offers an increasingly hard-to-find experience of great culinary skill with an extremely welcoming atmosphere accompanied by a storied wine and cocktail program. The Gold Mirror has been a neighborhood tradition for over 50 years while continuing to serve as a sense of home for all San Franciscans.

This is a wonderful place that serves very good food. The bartender Jonathan was attentive and friendly.
Wonderful classic Italian restaurant with some modern variations in the cuisine. A favorite place for us when we are in this part of S.F.
Parking can be a challenge. Allow time for a search and hope you get lucky or get Uber/Lyft.
Great food - very consistent - we look forward to our next visit!!!
It’s one of my all time favorite restaurants. Love the atmosphere. Food is delicious and prepared and served beautifully.
Great staff Fun place and good food to match
We love the Gold Mirror! it is consistently delicious and well-attended and well-served...
I have dined at Gold Mirror many times over the last 15 years. The food is consistently very good. The service is great. Love the ambiance. I would recommend Gold Mirror to anyone who is looking for a wonderful dining experience.
It’s a fabulous restaurant!! Authentic Italian!!!!
Food is always great - they use the freshest ingredients and it really shows. Beautiful broiled petrale and also creative pasta dishes. Updated old school!
This restaurant is top notch- fun, energetic, and delicious. They've been in the neighborhood for 50 years, and the love from the locals shows in the packed house and lively ambiance. Their food lives up to the love. From the butter lettuce salad to the chicken marsala to the Italian cream cake, dinner was excellent. The sausage ragu penne was not quite as good as the rest, but still very good. Definitely worth the trip!!
This is our first time to this restaurant. There were 4 of us and we ordered Veal Picatta, Salmon in champagne sauce, Petrale Sole Meunière and Veal Milanese. The charcuterie board appetizer was good, but the shrimp appetizer and all 4 main courses were strangely a bit too “sour” as if they put too much lemon on all of them. The taste of the various sauces were also rather similar to each other which is odd. We’re not sure whether this is an aberration for this evening only or whether it is always this way since this is our first time here.
The noise level downstairs is very loud (bad acoustics) but we asked to be seated upstairs which is much quieter.
Love the food. Kitchen SLOW. Wait staff excellent. Noise level so high must shout to tablemates. Tables too close together. Again, food & drinks delicious.
I like the food. Just a bit noisy for me
We go there on a regular basis -- always great food, great service, and great ambiance. Highly recommended!!
This restaurant was 5 star all the way around. We got a tip on this neighborhood gem and it surpassed all expectations. The server, Paulo, was wonderful, and the food was absolutely delicious. We shared a wonderful shrimp appetizer, and I had rack of lamb which was phenomenal. My friend had the chicken, mushroom fettuccine and said it was fantastic. We will definitely come back when we are in town.
The waiter (I can't recall his name) needs to be more attentive with customers.
He was always rushing... to taking the orders, serving and placing the food on the table
Service was a bit slow bringing the entree. But the meal was excellent. This restaurant is
very consistent with quality food.
Acoustics are bad ,hard to have a conversation .Food as usual was great, service was excellent.
Great family run restaurant..The DiGrande boys know the secret to success..great food, great service.
Use to visit 40 years ago with my husband. Was surprised to find still open. Took my daughters and son in laws to dinner. Fabulous! They'd totally redecorated, had upstairs seating, open kitchen. If possible it was even better. Especially for the times. Excellent service, our waitress was from Italy! Could not have been better.
We went on a lark for a late dinner. The food was just outstanding. Perfectly cooked halibut with a sauce that I used bread to sop up every drop. Had an excellent wine for a reasonable price. Will absolutely be back
Liked the neighborhood feel. Bar scene very lively and added to the noise level-fun!
One of us requested a special appetizer not on the menu. The chef agreed to make it for us and we were not disappointed. Excellent.
I have been going there for the past 45 years and this was so bad this time. Our waiter was so bad had to ask Asst manager to help serve us. Food was awful. They changed the chicken all romona to three drumsticks which had so much bones could not eat. very sad to see service so bad. Asst manager was great. Go back to the old food service not bones!!!
Despite the full house - only saw 2 empty tables and it was a Monday night - noise level was fine, service prompt, food delish. Very enjoyable evening
Food was excellent especially beet salad and main courses. The desserts were so so and would not order.
Great neighborhood restaurant with good service, food, and friendly atmosphere.
Excellent neighborhood go to place. Also a great bar.
Great place for consistently great food. We always enjoy the experience & have never been disappointed! In fact, we make sure to add this destination to take our out of town relatives & friends during their visits!!!!
It was difficult to park near the restaurant. The curtains were old and dirty. The place could use a makeover. My daughter ordered the tortellini which was very tasty, but not enough on the plate. I had lasagna which was tasty but the ricotta was too thin. The noodles in the lasagna were home made and the red sauce was delicious. The entire dish was delicious but way too soupy.
Very good old school Italian restaurant. Food was excellent and ambiance was great for friends getting together!
Nice and cheerful place! Great bar and the food is exceptional! Love it!
Great food. Good neighborhood restaurant
Friendly family owned place. A neighborhood treasure. Great authentic Sicilian food.
It is a great place for interesting Italian Food and parking is not difficult. And that is great for a restaurant in San Francisco.
Loved the ambience and décor. Had the short rib ravioli, sea bass, cannelloni and lasagne, tiramisu for dessert. Everything was excellent. Kid-friendly. Would definitely go back.
Gold mirror is honestly one of the best restaurants in the city - across the menu, best seafood, best steak, best pasta! Everything is tasty and fresh and just delicious. So happy to live close to this lovely neighborhood restaurant.
It was really loud and the food was just ok.
Fantastic food and service! Went there 1969 and have coming to the Gold Mirror ever since
Great old fashioned Italian cooking and great attentive service. Thanks!
A great old school place for retired people with no schedules! Excellent good and a true gem!
