Greeks tend to associate pleasures with homemade food, quality wine and good company. Heirs of the richest gastronomy they always search for a special hangout that combines the intimate atmosphere of home with mama's kitchen aromas. When Mr. George and his wife Maria decided after more than 50 years of experience in cooking and restaurant business to create "Gods' Restaurant" they couldn't have not respected these principles. At the family - owned "Gods' Restaurant" you will feel right at home with rustic and hospitable atmosphere. Mrs. Maria and their two sons along with the executive chef create authentic recipes from all over Greece, like grape leaves, the famous lamb "kleftiko", cheese pie with honey & Greek kebab “Sheftalia”. There are also some unique dishes which you can hardly find elsewhere, such as ravioli stuffed with beef & spices with red pepper & yoghurt-mint sauce, slow-cooked goat with pappardelle pasta, Cretan macaroni "skioufichta" and the caramelized octopus

    Wonderful experience, great service. Highly recommended. Our families have all visited this restaurant while in Athens and it did not disappoint.

    I'm going to guess our server was having a bad day or he doesn't like American women because this restaurant wouldn't have the reviews it does. After we were seated, we were given menus with greek/english except for the section on alcoholic drinks and since I don't like ouzo, I asked him what the other ones were and his response in a shocked tone "what do you mean, what are these drinks" and I said "If I knew what they were I would not ask you". Perhaps some was lost in translation, but that drama was unnecessary. Ordered - Meatball appetizer to share. Chicken Souvlaki & Lamb chops as main courses. Meatballs - We dug in, really tasty, and within a few minutes, a server appeared and asked me to move my plate because, surprise, our entrees were ready. I am shocked that a restaurant as highly regarded as this doesn't know that main courses are generally served after appetizers are finished so it seems more likely that the server is the one who didn't enter the order properly. The food we had was very good, albeit salty but that's NOT their fault, it's just that we tend not to use a lot of salt in our cooking. The quality is second to none and nobody should take this review as a reflection of that. The bottom line is that this was a disappointing experience and one that failed the most basic rules - don't bring entrees out on top of appetizers and don't tell someone who has a fork in hand that they have to move their plate because the main course has arrived.

    Nice ambience, friendly wait staff but felt too rushed and touristy. We have been in Greece for a week and it was our first disappointing meal.

    And the 8th!! We had another restaurant booked for the 8th and ended up back at Gods’ Restaurant….. confused… we were! Thankfully we had enjoyed the first night!

    Ate here our last night in Athens. The food was excellent from the starters to dessert. An authentic Greek cuisine experience. The staff were attentive without being overbearing; helpful in suggestions; and pleasant to converse with overall. This was definitely our best dining experience in Athens in the 9 days we were there. Highly recommend.

    What an experience. The menu covers a wide variety or foods for the picky eaters. The portions are huge don’t fill up on the apps. Staff was so nice and the prices were great.

    The people at OpenTable are lovely as is the ambience. My friend recommended this restaurant because her family toured Athens 10 or more years ago and her son still talks about the fish he ate here. I, of course, had to have that fish and know I’ll talk about it for 10+ years too! My children also enjoyed the grilled shrimp and moussaka! When you’re in Athens, Greece, don’t miss this place!
