Outdoor dining experience was great. Very safe with partitions between tables and the side on sidewalk open for ventilation. Service was attentive and server was very pleasant and accommodating. Food was excellent. My friend’s salad was a little too salty and they took it away without charge. A great neighborhood restaurant. I have been here before and it’s always good and I will return!
Great service and food git nice quiet indoor table
Gnocco appetizer was fantastic with 3 different salumi.
They are doing a fabulous job creating ambience while keeping people safe. The food was delicious as always
Nothing to say but excellent all around
Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I’ve actually never been told I am “out of my mind” or “shameful” by a proprietor for telling him we did not enjoy our drinks and would like for them to be taken off the menu. The food was abysmal at best and I am genuinely confused how he is in business. The “fusilli picante” consisted of raw chopped jalapenos tossed on top of costco shredded mozzarella that was simply cold and thrown on top of overcooked pasta. The gnocchi tasted like chef boyardee and was sticking to the roof of my mouth. Canned tomatoes were used in every dish and the chef couldn’t be bothered to season the sauce or take out the lumpy tomatoes from the can mixture. Probably the worst italian food in nyc and for their prices??? I could go to vapiano for a fraction of the price and at least have an edible meal. The owners behavior was actually attrocious and I have never experienced anything of the sort in my entire life! Cannot understand how the owner can scream at customers for complaining about their meal. This is new york... if you can’t handle complaining customers go back to italy where I’m sure they would put you in jail for the things you serve to people that you pretend to call food.
it was just a shame you waited until 10pm, the closing time due to pandemic restrictions, to make a complaint about every single item you ordered. You then refused to pay the bill twice with the waiter, who asked you several times if everything was good during the duration of your meal. We offered you a discount, which you refused but accepted at the end because we called the police. At 10:15pm you were still seated, laughing and making jokes to the staff and owner. Shame on you, scammers!!!
Suggest improving service / attentiveness of waiters. Also recommend improving heating in outdoor seating area (garden)
Every time we've been to Gnocco has been great. The food, the service, and the ambience just work.
Personnel and food were amazing
Very tasty and cozy, highly recommend
Perfect! Was able to do socially distant lunch in the back garden.
Love coming here! The plants outside are a great touch.
We sat outside on the back patio and had our own little nook. It was pretty cold with the roof still open. Food and wine were good and came out in a timely manner. Waitress was very delightful. We just didn’t love the ambiance but obviously COVID changes things.
Great spot. Wonderful people. Excellent food. We tried 3 different pizzas. Nice wine selection. Lovely ambience.
Gnocco is an east village staple. Never wrong. Always consistent in flavor and portions. The new outdoor area made due to pandemic welcomes everyone but keeps you apart.
Wonderful meal and staff made experience enjoyable, safe and comfortable under difficult circumstances.
gets better every time!! we love and appreciate you guys - thank you for everything
The service was great and the lamb and chicken was lovely. The backdoor seating is cute for a date, and the drinks be really hitting. I felt it was a little pricey, although I was drunk ordering so who knows. Good for a covid date
The manager’s behavior and attitude was rude and disrespectful. The table ordered a round of old fashioned’s, which were $15 each. The implication was that for $15 a drink, we wouldn’t need to specify a better than shelf bourbon. We were served the shelf bottle, and told the waitress we were not satisfied. The bartender then approached the table looking to inquire and resolve the situation. We asked to cancel the order or switch to a different whiskey. He agreed to switch whiskeys. When the bill came, we were charged extra for the change of whiskeys. When we inquired with the waitress, she brought over the manager. Before explaining why we never agreed to the extra charge, the manager interrupted my friend who was explaining and said that it is written in their restaurant policy that all cocktails come with house liquor. We explained that we were never provided this policy, and tried explaining again. The manager again interrupted and refused to stop speaking over us. We did not want to cause a scene, so we asked to just bring the bill. The manager continued to talk over us and didn’t realize we moved past the situation and were asking for the bill for a bit. The point was the principle that they didn’t warn us that it was going to be extra for the change of whiskey, but the manager’s refusal to admit any wrongdoing or at the very least miscommunication was saddening. The talking over us was disrespectful.
Customer, I can only assume this is one of your first experiences in NYC. Its standard for cocktails to be made using the house liquor & for a supplemental charge to be added when higher shelf liquor is requested. $15 is standard- even on the less expensive side. & you asked Bulleit Rye. You received what you ordered, & its not unreasonable for you to pay for what you order. Also perhaps you didnt realize, you explained the situation several times. Therefore, it wasnt necessary to repeat again.
Gnocco has a really cute atmosphere with a back patio and nice decor. Their food was delicious and we had a lovely time!
We had a lovely evening with excellent service. Food was incredible and they were very attentive.
Food was top notch across the board. Will continue patronizing!!
The best food, great service
It was sidle
Very good Saturday night dinner at Gnocco. My friend and I booked a table for two for outdoor dining. We were sat right on time, and our server was excellent. She was engaging and had great knowledge of the menu. We had two pizzas, and tried their "Gnocco" appetizer: all absolutely delicious. Our one minor issue with the experience was that all of the outdoor tables were either on the side of the restaurant or under the covering they have up past the sidewalk towards the street. However, our table was further away from the other tables and essentially "on" the sidewalk where people walking by were closer to us which during this time can be a little uncomfortable. Due to the excellent food and service, this did not take away from our meal too much, and we will definitely be back!
Perfect bottomless brunch
Really good food and beautiful outdoor dining ambiance. Some customers were walking around without masks (older people) without the staff enforcing them to wear masks, but I appreciate that the staff all always had their masks on. Let’s you enjoy eating your food while feeling pretty safe. Staff was also really patient and attentive. Great covid safe outdoor dining option that’s really yummy. Definitely recommend this spot!
Great ambience, the staff was super quick and nice. We had the pizza which was also really good!
The food was amazing, staff was friendly and attentive, will definitely return.
We came to Gnocco for the first time to celebrate our son's birthday and we were pleasantly suprised. The food was excellent. We sat at the back garden space which was nice. From the buffalo mozzarella appetizer, to the Chitarra saghetti with pesto sauce that had clams and green beans, to the Pan seared salmon with grilled shrimps - both were expertly cooked and thoughtfully seasoned. The Tagliolini pasta with shaved white truffle was truly delicious. My family and I were thinking of the food long after the dinner was over! The wait staff was very friendly and the owner (we think he was the owner) was very welcoming. We will definitely be back very soon!
Food and cocktails were average but service was outstanding.
Pizza had no flavor and salad had extra olive oil dressing.
Pasta was good
Lovely garden. Great thin crust pizza. A great escape in our new dining era
Absolutely loved this place!! Did the bottomless brunch and both the food and drinks were amazing. The staff is so kind and attentive! The ambiance is so beautiful and we had the absolute best time. Can't wait to go back!
So nice. The food was unreal. Definitely will return.
Perfect spot. Great food. Will go back. Can’t stand the blinking lights they use along the bushes for the outdoor seating in the front of the restaurant.
What a great night, the food and waitstaff were terrific! The atmosphere was awesome as well.
Always a delicious meal and they’ve done a great job with outdoor seating for social distancing
The place is nice but the waiters was eating at the back between serving us and touching everything with her hands and no mask which is fine when you eating but she didn’t wash her hands after and kept serving us and touches our plates and glasses ,you expected the employees to have their food before service starts wash their hands and be ready for work and not having dinner meal right next to people that come to enjoy their dinner, food was terrible but that’s not the waitress fault.
Bet good food eaten here before
Excellent experience. Great variety on the menu. Party of 9 and each dish was exceptional. Our waiter made the evening complete. For a more private option sit in the back of the restaurant under the stars
Wonderful dining in back patio area with exquisite tastes of Italy! We enjoyed the delicate octopus to start & 2 grand seafood main dishes: never miss the super branzino in foil & tasty salmon. Nice wine & cocktail voices too. Next time we’ll save room for dessert!
