Gnocco Ratings and Reviews
Gnocco is an undiscovered little jewel. Great Roman style (thin crust) pizzas, delicious gnocco fritto with cold cuts, and a good selection of other items.
It is a great authentic Italian place. Not pretentious at all and very affordable, especially by NY standards.
We dined with friends visiting NY from Australia so the meal was supposed to be a special one. The food was plated in cold bowls so it cooled down quickly. Our cocktail order was incorrect and the replacement wasn’t comped even though the drinks were served with the entrees instead of before. We ended up drinking our bottle of wine after our meal. A mouse ran down the branch draped across the ceiling, which was not particularly appetizing! Food wasn’t bad but not good enough to give the place a second chance.
Great experience at Gnocco on Saturday night. Our group of 7 arrived right on time for our 6:30 reservations, and after being welcomed by the owner, we were promptly seated at an awesome round table -- round tables make the conversations so much easier! Our waiter was helpful and friendly. We ordered a bottle of wine on his recommendation, which was much lighter than we expected, and he took it back and replaced it with another choice without any issue. Between the seven of us we shared 4 appetizers, including 2 of their delicious thin crust pizzas, the signature appetizer and a recommended octopus dish..all were flavorful, fresh, and well portioned. The pastas were also well seasoned, very distinctive from one another, and appropriately sized. Highly recommend this lively delicious spot!
It was my birthday and I had friends from out of town. Gnocco has always been my go-to place because it serves consistently delicious, authentic Italian food, excellent wine list and the service is wonderful. Gnocco always delivers and never disappoints. Thank you!
Food was delicious, service ok, but definitely not great. the tables are very closely put together, which is not really comfortable and the restaurant is pretty noisy, at least on a Friday night.
Location is perfect, enjoy the food, but service should be better, they forgot our bottle of mineral water we ordered 3 times and when you walk in the host was pretty rude and rushed us to our table
We went the other night with 8 people. We ordered 6 apps for the table, 3 bottles of Chianti and everyone got a pasta entree. Everyone was very pleased with the quality and taste of the food. The wine $52 a bottle the entrees were under $20 for the pasta dishes. I will definitely return.
I’ve been to Gnocco several times and this is the first time the service was diplorable. There were only 3 tables of customers and 2 servers, but the only person who checked on our meal was the bus boy. The servers never came back until we had to flag them down for our check.
Service was sloppy (ordered drinks multiple times that were forgotten and asked for the check 3 times before it arrived). We also had an 8pm reservation (table wasn’t ready until 8.15pm) and we were asked to vacate the table by 9.30pm to allow for others to take our table - this was not the dining experience we were hoping for. We live in New York and won’t be coming back any time soon.
