Glovers Alley by Andy McFadden is a Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant overlooking the iconic St. Stephen’s Green in the heart of Dublin. Led by Chef Andy McFadden, the restaurant celebrates modern Irish cuisine with a focus on seasonal produce, precision, and creativity.

Food was nice, we enjoyed every dish, service was possibly the worst service iv ever had. We didnt get offered any of the supplements, I went to the bathroom and came back to pre dessert on the table, we wanted the cheese course before this, we told the waitress we wanted the cheese course and she said sorry dessert is next. My wine glass was empty twice, we asked for our wine twice before we got it, water glass empty twice also. We told a staff member of our experience and nobody said or did anything about it .

We celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary here and the food was excellent! We had the seafood “surprise” menu - all of the items were elsewhere on the menu but the surprise is which seafood item is selected for you, a great option if you can’t choose yourself and you want a fourth little course. The service was also excellent although it was a little disappointing that they went through the trouble of asking us if it was a special occasion when we made the booking and then didn’t make any acknowledgement when we arrived.

The staff was very kind and welcoming but the food was really unauthentic and mediocre. I do not expect portions to be bigger as these restaurants are mainly for discovering new flavors, but I discovered none and ended up paying almost EUR 300 for a diner for two. My biggest disappointment was tiramisu which was nothing more than a few layers of chocolate mousse with barely discernible flavors that had nothing do with the tiramisu custard. In general, it’s obvious that the ingredients were of high-quality but what was put together isn’t really striking, just edible. If you’d serve what’s on the menu without window-dressing nobody will think it’s from an ambitious restaurant.

Hidden gem in the heart of Dublin with food that exudes elegance and explodes with beautiful bold flavours. We went on a Saturday evening as a group of 4 and the place was relatively quiet and the service was lovely. Locally sourced Irish ingredients such as venison, delicious fresh seafood made for a lovely evening of fine dining plus a fantastic wine selection to match. The standouts for the evening for myself was the wild Turbot, the amazing Guinness bread and their interesting take on a tiramisu desert. I will also give an honourable mention to the dark chovolate chocolate banana and toffee bonbons that were given as a mille-feuille at the end of the meal (honestly if I could purchase a box of these I would gladly pay the price) Service was fantastic with the waiting staff doing a fantastic job of keeping us stocked on wine, water and extra bread if we wished it and the food was served and presented elegantly without being pretentious. Bright vibrant colours and clean lines on every plate made this the equivalent of a gastro-theatre and we happily spend 3 hours without feeling rushed or pressured. I would also like to commend the staff who let us order additional supplements to the meal after when we wanted to try the exquisite Brie with honey truffle and pecans.

We were a group of three and so had the opportunity to try the vegan, the vegetarian and meat tasting menus at lunch time. The vegan in our group was thrilled to have such a range of tastes and textures normally not available to her! The crunchy meringue was big hit! We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. As it’s summertime, cucumber, beetroot, asparagus and strawberries featured for all of us. Wavy beef and lobster were top notch. Wine recommendations were perfect too and with temperatures outside reaching 26° a glass of refreshing cremant followed by a chilled French Rose turned out to be perfect recommendations. The non-alcohol sparkling wine was appreciated too. Staff were friendly, informative and proud of their restaurant. It was a total pleasure to dine at Glovers Alley.
