Overrated by Sietsma in WAPO. Limited menu, terrible wine list. Overdone entree. Incredible noise level dining outside on Wisconsin Avenue. Totally over priced. No wonder that the restaurant was empty, and I could get a reservation almost immediately. You can do much better elsewhere. Caveat emptor.

Very poor service. Waitress told us we could not park in the (empty) garage but instead needed to find street parking in the rain. We had called before coming and they told us to park in the free garage.
Food was mediocre and service was slow and grumpy. Very nice setting but unfortunately, we will not return.

The food is very, very good but it arrives somewhat cold because it is brought from the inside kitchen to the outside seating area. Time to have indoor service.

Ambience is beautiful. Food is overpriced. Dinner service is exceptionally slow and inattentive. I ordered an entree and the waiter never put the order in.

Breakfast service is excellent. Delicious breads and baked goods.

The food and setting was perfect on a summery night. Inside appealing also. Great for the city and neighborhood. Steak tartare authentic and the mussels were flawless

I had read negative reviews on its service but wanted to try it anyway. The service was terrible, plus by the time the hot food arrived from the kitchen (located inside the hotel), it was cold.

My /h and I had an early-ish dinner with our 3 y/o grand/d. Complete with Kids Menu,
her dinner and ours was delightful -- on the large outdoor patio with cover and side shields as needed (except we enjoyed them open for breeze). The Staff was most pleasant and attentive. Our first time, but a neighborhood gem, I can tell. Will go again when I'm back in town.

The food was fine, but way overpriced. I had the shrimp and grits which left me hungry because of the small portion. $32.00! A friend in our party had the cavatelli which she was not happy with.
Luckily we just wanted a chance to visit. The chocolate sundae was big and yummy.

Food was disappointing. Chicken parm was dried out and the shrimp and grits were just meh. Help was awful. Acted like he couldn’t care less whether we were there. Outdoor space was ruined by the wind tunnel winds. Weird pacing for the food. Appetizer came out quickly as did the cocktail. Wine and main courses not so quickly. Given the expense — over $200 for one app, two mains, one cocktail and a wine on the lower end of the list — there are many othervplaces to go in DC that provide better food, service, and value.

Wonderful neighborhood gem. Delightful spot and excellent service on all levels.
Not only table service but parking as well.
Tom, the Hotel manager sprung to our aid - as a result of Covid, there's no longer any valet parking. But the manager had us park the car right infront of the Hotel while we had dinner - problem solved.
So highly recommended.

many of the foods that were on the website were not on the menu. service seemed disorganized and tired. hamburger that we ordered rare was well done although on the return, it was medium rare. drinks were late and arrived with salads. we had read Tom Sietsma's Wash Post review and went because of that. Disappointing

Went to their new Sunday night live jazz and it was absolutely wonderful! Every dish we had was so delicious! We started with the shrimp cocktail, steak tartare and charcuterie. I had the shrimp & grits for my entree, which was by far the best shrimp & grits I've ever had and then finished it off with the tiramisu and cookies - both TO DIE FOR. The jazz artists were great and I definitely plan on returning!!

Came here when they first opened and was fabulous. Every time since the quality of the food has declined. What used to be a fabulous steak for the price is now an overpriced cheap piece of meet with no flavor or marbling. Ordered it medium rare and came well done. Sent it back and next steak was more like medium well with barely any pink. Chicken parmigiana was good and servers very friendly. Miss the excellent food from Casolare. Hope the chef and new kitchen gets it together as it’s a great neighborhood spot if food gets better

We ate Sunday brunch on the terrace -- it was perfect. The terrace is set back far enough from the street to be an enjoyable outdoor dining experience, the tables were well spaced, and the service was outstanding. The food was very good and a good value as well.

The food was very good but on the heavy side. The wait staff was harried and the service was EXTREMELY slow. It took more than an hour for our appetizers to arrive. We had been waiting quite a while after the appetizers for our entrees, so we ordered a salad because we were hungry. Maybe 15 minutes after that, the entrees arrived. We finished those and ordered dessert, and then someone brought us the salad.

There are two dining areas: one indoors and one in a covered pavilion. The pavilion is charming; the indoor dining area is not. It's poorly lit, drafty, and not at all cozy. The one good thing about it is it's quiet. This restaurant has promise if it can improve its service and if it can make its indoor dining space more inviting.

Kind of disappointing experience. They seated us in the bar area and the music was strange and very loud. I thought this was somewhat of an upscale place but it felt more like a cafe in terms of the menu, fairly basic stuff. Our waiter was good, nothing against him at all, but he was also the bartender and had a lot on his plate, so it didn't feel very attentive nor professional. Food is expensive for what you get -- we enjoyed our dishes, but felt more along the lines of a place like Logan Tavern, where a similar dinner would have cost us maybe $100 total. At Glover Park, our bill came to $200, which I thought was very high for the experience we had. Won't be going back.

The restaurant was not seemingly busy (only patio seating was open), but it took over an hour to receive our food. Other guests seated after us (and in larger parties) received their food before us, making us wonder if our order was lost. We asked for bread and didn’t realize we would be charged $6 for two pieces until the bill arrived. Same with charges for refills on soda. Disappointing service and timeliness — our server never mentioned there were delays. Business model doesn’t align with neighborhood restaurants we normally frequent, and unlikely to give this one a 3rd try.

Very pricey given the portion sizes coupled with a fairly limited menu. Dishes were tasty, but most were either overcooked or sitting under warming lights for too long. It took over 90 minutes to get and eat one course, with most of it waiting... and waiting. Server was totally inattentive in terms of filling glasses, asking if we needed anything -- ok for an inexpensive dive, but not for a place where many entrees are in the $30 range. No rolls, bread or anything like that were served while we were waiting for the entree. For the life of me, I have no idea why Tom Sietsma recommended it -- I can't believe that it was that different on a Sunday (when we were there) versus when he was there -- I usually agree with his reviews, but not this time. There are many better restaurants, even with outdoor dining, in DC. I will not go back to Glover Park Grill.

The patio is the best thing about Glover Park Grill. The good is uninspiring and flavorless. We had 5pm reservations, but arrived early because we received an email stating that there would be a Happy Hour and many specials for the Kentucky Derby. The only special was a Mint Julep. We ordered a beer and sparkling Rose which were both warm.
We had to flag a server down after 5pm to get a menu.
We’ve tried Glover Park Grill twice and have come away disappointed both times.

The restaurant is nicely laid out, with good space between the tables, so relatively quiet, although you still hear the traffic right next to the restaurant on Wisconsin.
As for the food, the crab cake was quite good, however, the trout was over-cooked and dry.
The service was good.

The outside setting was a good one for this covid conservative. The tables were well spaced to be without masks and talking with my spouse and a friend. As far as the food goes, anyone of one of my home cook friends could do better. I had the cavatelli and the buffalo wings app to get some protein. It was just nothing special at all for a night out in the neighborhood.

Servers must travel so far from outdoor patio to the bar and kitchen that the pace over service is poor.
GPG's steak tartare would be better named "chopped up raw meat." There was no mustard, worcestshire sauce, egg, or any of the ingregients found in the classic dish.
