Global Grill @myong gourmet Ratings and Reviews
After serving our appetizers, it was another 45 mins before we got our entrees. Someone forgot to tell the kitchen to fire our orders when the appetizers were brought out. We were surprisingly asked 30 mins into our wait, if we were ready for dessert ! No one from the kitchen even came out to apologize for the mishap, or even offer a free drink for the inconvenience. When all was said and done, we were there for a 2 hr. dinner, which should have been 1 1/4 hr at most.
Global Grill is conveniently located off the main road through MT Kisco NY but not easy to see. Interior is modern and spare. Prices a bit high for the location. Service is friendly and well informed but occasionally forgetful. Food is locally sourced, fresh and creative, with some Asian touches. Recently thick, crisp slab bacon was a great appetizer as was generous tuna tartar. Calamari special was less successful. The locally sourced brined pork chop was amazing. Wine list unimpressive, and $15 Martinis unrealistic.
Found this restaurant on Open Table when in the area. Most reviews were good....some fair. My feeling is the food was just fair. I ordered Mahi Mahi special...just ok. My partner had the flounder which he enjoyed. It was a pleasant ambiance inside ....the restaurant located in a strip mall. Can't say I would return.
My wife and I ordered from the tapas list. All was going great until we ordered the lamb on a skewered. What was disappointing was it was $14 and you only got one lamb skewered. Any was barely 3 inches in length. My suggestion don't order the lamb. The flavors was good however not for $14 and barely 3 inches in length for one.
We went here based on previous reviews as it is a local place for us. Unfortunately, don't believe the hype. Food is average at best. I must admit they were large portions but either the flavors battled as there were too many competing strong ones or totally bland. I had the cioppono which was a weak noodle and fish dish. Salty but lacked any zest. The clams were chewy. Just way overlooked. My daughter had the duck. This was the dish that had too many competing flavors that she just couldn't enjoy it. My wife had the seared tuna. The dish was two large thick tuna steaks but no flavor at all. What a let down! We were so looking forward to it being a great place because it's minutes from our house. The appetizer humus variety was amazing but the dumplings had dry tough dough although the filling and dipping sauce was delicious. It doesn't deserve a poor ranking but it is fair at best. The staff was nice and attentive, but there was only one other table there. The only time the staff seemed to ignore us was when we were ready fortune check, but may be it was just us that wanted to get out.
Loved all the choices offered for restaurant week. Potstickers and bacon appetizers were outstanding as was our dinners. Our waiter was very personable when he was at our table, however there were long delays in between courses. It seemed that the wait staff was overwhelmed at times.
We went early due to dining with our young kids. They were relatively well behaved but the restaurant and staff/owners were very accommodating. There were other diners but it was quiet because we were there at 5:30! Delicious food. We have been before but decided to try the restaurant week menu. We ordered 2 set menus and one additional order of pot stickers and 2 adults a 2 & 4yr old all walked out happily full.
This was my first time here. I was at first a bit weary about a Korean restaurant in Mt. Kisco. If it wasn't for Restaurant Week, I doubt I would have ever found this place. It turned out to be very good. I loved the bulgogi tacos. I would go back just for that! Overall the restaurant was very clean, staff was attentive and very nice. The food was outstanding. I was so full that I could barely walk out the door.
Having had a memorable dining experience the first time we ate here, we were really disappointed on our second visit. While the soup was delicious, both of the entrees were mediocre, and the service poor. However, despite this, based on the first experience, we will give it one more try and hope that it was an off-day on our second visit.
We saw Myong on the list for HV Rest. Week. We had been there before & the food was delicious. Their special menu looked interesting so we decided to return with another couple. My mussel appetizer was delicious. The rabbit for the entree was good but the Korean grill my husband & another diner had was outstanding. The restaurant was disappointingly not crowded at all so I hope they can survive. I recommend it highly.
The Thai mussels were great. Owner/bar tender was somewhat overbearing in presence. Also not quick enough with drinks. (Ate my whole dinner before getting second glass of wine.) Food was less than expected. Very small fish portion and slightly burnt on bottom.
Our dinner was delicious. The restaurant week menu had plenty of choices. The kale salad which is on the regular menu as well was note worthy. All dishes were labeled for content ie: gluten free vegan dairy free etc. Free range and organic choices as well. Some of the prices a bit steep but a great on the restaurant week $29.99 deal.
Don't be misled by the restaurant name. It's a top notch restaurant with eclectic delicious choices. I can't put a label on the kind of food, except to say that it's always been delicious, different and worth the money. Our most recent food choices were cod - superb, braised rabbit (x2)- excellent and pork chop - superb. Service is a bit spotty, but friendly, but the overall experience is fabulous because of the food and the value for dollar. Highly recommended.
Despite it's name, the restaurant focuses on Korean, with a nod to other Asian flavors. But the food is really good, and even those with picky palates can find dishes they will enjoy. It was not busy at all, a little surprising for a Thursday night during Restaurant Week. They offer a small plates menu in addition to the regular menu and there are special menus available for Mon, Tues and Wed. They offer take out, with many dishes displayed like a deli counter at a supermarket, so the ambiance suffers. A screen or a small wall to separate this counter could only improve the look. The kitchen was slow despite the few occupied tables, but service was friendly and responsive.
Food took a little longer to come than I would expect but we were engrossed in conversation wth friends and didn't actively follow up on order. Pleasant and helpful staff and the owners check on each table including the (korean) wife who is also the chef. Great find.
I've waited forever to visit this spot! And I wish I hadn't! My waitresses (Theresa) was amazing, funny, suggestive and made the evening! It is a Neighborhood gem and I have to give a good review even though I may be giving the best spot away! Most likely will start to be our biweekly get away from kids :)
And the food wow!
Surprised the place wasn't packed!?!?
Everything you order from their extensive, perhaps too extensive, menu is excellent. Meat, poultry, fish, veggie dishes - all great. The service is slow so give yourself time and the food is a bit pricey, but that is what happens when everything is individually prepared and cooked to order. It's nice to truly get what you pay for.
