All four of our meals were very good (snapper, burger, fish tacos, pasta), and the view as always is fantastic on a summer evening. Glo remains one of my all time favourite restaurants in Victoria.
Our only complaint, which all 4 of us agreed, was the music was too loud (Fri 6pm). I appreciate you may be aiming for a DJ happy hour vibe, but my voice was hoarse after finishing our drinks. With the volume level turned down a bit, the vibe would be just as good :)
I had the Red Snapper, delicious!
Great gin cocktail too, really tasty.
All the tables have a view of the water.
A great place for dinner.
First time at Glo restaurant, it was good food fair price and service was excellent. Definitely will come back again.👍🏻
Good experience! I thought their vegetarian noodle bowl with tofu was a bit overpriced considering what it was, but I always have a good time at Glo.
`The food is always good. The service was up to your usual standard and they were very attentive to our food requirements. Generally a very enjoyable meal.
Glo is one of our go to spots. Love the view, service and food. My wife loves the steak sandwich and the amazing salads. Not a bad item on the menu!
This is a very popular restaurant and reservations are certainly recommended. Service is very good, they have a pretty large wait staff. A lot of choices on the menu, and both our orders were very tasty.
Found the Waiter very pushy to offer us the bill. Our foursome gets together twice a year and like to enjoy a pre dinner drink, dinner, & a coffee. We avoided the latter two as we felt rushed to get out of there.
Went here for a day early Mother’s Day dinner, and it was wonderful even though very busy. Great place to go to with both kids and adults as they have a good variety on the menu. The food we ordered came out pretty quick and was delicious.
Hostess was lovely Server as well❣️
We go to Glo once every couple of week. They have an amazing patio on the water and the service is great. They have many options for appetizers and mains and I have never had a meal that I did not like.
It has been a while since we ate at Glo and were celebrating my husband's birthday with my Mom who is in a wheelchair and my cousin visiting from Ottawa (a party of 4). Dallas was our server and very good and they had noted in my Open Table reservation it was my husband's birthday and brought him a complimentary birthday dessert. Our steak sandwiches were cooked to perfection.
We took our daughter for her 16th birthday because of the nice view and I had previously had a good lunch there. It was busy as expected but not crazy. Our waitress was very nice but it took her quite a long time to bring us our waters to start.
My wife ordered a salad, no bacon, and my daughter ordered a salad with no olives. When to food came, we had to send the bacon covered salad back and my daughter promptly bit into an olive in hers. I have to say that my pesto chicken pasta was really, really good, but it was unfortunate as I was enjoying my meal, they were either waiting for the Caesar salad without bacon or picking through the other one to remove more olives.
I wont hesitate to return because I've had great meals here, and the view is great, but maybe not the best place for vegetarians.
The food was delicious and their wine list was great - was noisy so better for an upbeat meal out rather than an intimate setting. Will definitely be back!
Excellent experience - my favorite restaurant in Victoria.
We always enjoy our meals at the Glo and highly recommend it to our friends. It is wonderful to sit out on the patio on a sunny day - beautiful surroundings, great service, and tasty food.
We always have a great meal at Glo. Love the vibe and the service is great
Nice restaurant with decent food, atmosphere and service. Not spectacular but in line with prices.
Excellent food... should tone down the music a bit.. very noisy crowd. It’s an occasion for my daughter s birthday and asked the waitress for small candle for the dessert we ordered but the kitchen did not informed her thus forgetting the bday candle , she tried rectifying it by giving us a scoop of ice cream with lighted candle ...
Server was very nice and attending. Hostess could use some manners. We made reservations the night before for a party of 4 arriving at 7:15p and specifically asked on Open Table for an excellent table to view the sunset. However, we were seated inside at a table that blocked the sunset with a wall portion. Looking around, there were much better tables than ours and the restaurant was a third full with several tables open on the patio. More tables were open than occupied. We asked hostess if we could be seated at a table on the patio and was told they were first come, first serve. So, we said we would just go out there and claim a table then. The hostess then told us that we couldn't because ALL the patio tables were being held for people who had called and reserved them and it would be a 45 minute wait. What!? We were confused by this as there were no people around waiting nor did any show up through out the night. So, I call B.S. on that. Finally, our server asked the hostess, because she didn't understand why we couldn't sit out on patio either. At this point the hostess did come and seat us to a patio table around the side with a lovely view of the scrap heap near the restaurant. We gave up at this point! On top of it all, the steak was overcooked, nowhere near medium rare, but seasoned well. Server noticed it and offered to have another cooked, but I declined. I enjoyed my dinner companions, but no sunset. Normally, I would have just left, but we had taken a water taxi and were not nearby to anything else. I'm sorry, but I would not recommend. There are far too many fantastic restaurants in Victoria.
We had a lovely evening. Our server Madison was exceptional. She review the specials, gave us a gluten free menu and let us know our business was appreciated. The food was exceptional. The patio was open for a lovely evening with the ambiance of the view of the water. We will definitely be back and will recommend The Glo to our friends.
Been going to Glo for years - used to work across the street and we'd often do lunch there on paydays. Also whenever someone retired from our Prov. Gov. office - we'd all go over to Glo for drinks after work. Love the food and the views.
Love it!!! Other than the noise it is one of our favourite restaurants in Victoria
made my grandaughter's 16th birthday a very special day
Excellent food. Wonderful server. A bit too noisy
Great food, excellent service. Will definitely go again.
The food was excellent, the staff was accommodating to a special seating request and the location and view great for a lunch with friends. It is a relaxing casual venue and arranged in such a way that a large room seems smaller. The food selection is great enough that everyone will find something that suits their taste. We have been there 4 times and never been disappointed.
A picturesque spot on The Gorge with great sunset views. Salad and home made soup Appetizers were outstanding but things started to fall apart with the main courses. Chicken Pasta was ok Ramen style soup with fish was pretty good but sadly my pork dish featured a tough and tastelessly unfinishable slab of meat. I just noticed they didn’t credit us for the measly 100 Open Table points reward. Very nice.
A great spot for picturesque views (it looks right out on the water!) and a stylish interior. It is sophisticated without being uncomfortable. Plus, the food is top quality and beautifully presented.
Very loud group next to us definitely took the edge off. Between that and the DJ, we felt more like we were in a nightclub. Not what we anticipated. Food was good and the service was fine. Ambiance was a miss.
Kind amazing, service staff with huge smiles. Great salad and food variety for all tastes.
Yet again a great experience. The foods quite good every time, consistent. This time I noticed the portions of fish was smaller than normal, but it was still tasty. Servers are friendly and check in to make sure your enjoying your meal. Drinks were pretty fairly priced (specials) and the locations awesome.
The ambiance is lovely at the Glo and being situated on the Selkirk makes it even more special. You are acknowledged at the desk with a smile and I find everyone to be very accommodating. The food is always delicious.....
Thank you for great service
Had a great time. Nice staff & nice atmosphere. The food wasn't really worth the cost in my opinion but I'd go back for drinks.
As always a fantastic experience and really good food at a reasonable price
Our service was excellent and making a reservation was definitely the way to go based on the fact that it is so busy there. Way too loud for conversation initially but quieted down as the crowd thinned.
Always good food and a spectacular ambience for date night
Great service, atmosphere and food. Glo was the perfect spot for a get together with friends. Order the parmesan truffle fries!
We were called in advance to let us know the kitchen would be closed when we got there- that was fine we were going for drinks. When we got there we were told again kitchen was closed- no problem, but the restaurant was obviously closing so we offered to go else where they said no we’re still open for drinks, great! Our server was clearly annoyed she had a new table to the point where we decided to sit at the bar so she could go home and then we received the same treatment from the bartender- if we were just told from the start they weren’t seating new tables or were closing in an hour we would have gone somewhere else still open past 10:30pm- it was one bad service after another
