Glenmorgan Bar & Grill at the Radnor Hotel Ratings and Reviews
Best hamburgers in the area! The food is delicious, menu is excellent, service very nice. Atmosphere could be improved - some updating is definitely needed - but all in all it's a very nice place to have lunch or dinner, and the ample parking is an added benefit.
Food was reasonably good, but friends who recommended it made it sound much better than it turned out to be. Service was a little slow at first, surprising because it wasn't very full. The upside of that was that it was relatively quiet, which is always a plus for me. But I don't know what it would be like when it is full.
We had been here for brunch and loved it. We received and email about Octoberfest and decided to go. What a disappointment. There were only 2 choices for appetizers and entrees and 1 for dessert (they were listed on the email, but it wasn't clear that these were the ONLY choices). The service was very slow, it was obvious our server was new. Not a good sign when you have to ask a busboy to get someone to help. I was given the wrong wine, the food was so so. I think we will return for brunch, but not for dinner.
The atmosphere was nice. There were only 2 other tables occupied, although the bar was full. The server was attentive when taking our order. However, the food was slow to arrive & none of us liked the taste of our food. My son & husband's portion sizes were also small. I can understand now why the restaurant was empty.
Wonderful brunch, great selection of breakfast and lunch dishes. Made to order omelettes and carving station. My children loved the chocolate fountain with many fruits and treat options. Excellent service and wonderful piano player. Looking forward to returning.
The Champagne Brunch was amazing. There was a large variety of delicious foods and drinks. The dinning room was beautiful and you have a choice of indoor or garden patio seating with a lovely view of their incredibly gorgeous garden - you know the type of garden you use to take your wedding photos. Our server was named Maria and her customer service was outstanding. We highly recommend you try their Champagne Brunch and bring two friends.
We came to Glenmorgan after moving our daughter into Villanova for her Junior year. We traditionally had gone to another restaurant in the area, but this had now closed. We were very pleased to find Glenmorgan Bar and Grill . Although the menu for dinner was largely weighted toward sandwiches (hot) and small plates, with few entree's, we all found what we wanted. The steak medallion sandwiches were excellent - so tender and grilled perfectly to order. The "Yo-Rueben" was also excellent. Fries, chips and other sides were well-prepared and flavorful. I started with French Onion Soup, and it was very hearty and had a nice beef-based broth. Our waiter was SUPERB - efficient, affable and had a great sense of humor. Glenmorgan's may become our new go-to spot when visiting our daughter.
The service was spotty and not very attentive. We arrived early and the hostess was sassy. "You'll have to wait." When we were seated, after asking if we had been there before, no instructions were given to us. We waited a long time between times that the waitress addressed, including while waiting the check. The food was good, but the service did not impress us. The piano was lovely. There were several large groups that received much attention, but as a couple we weren't given much service.
Dined with daughter for her 21st birthday. Thought she would enjoy the champagne brunch and she did. She loved the chocolate fountain!
My request for an individual dessert and candle in Open Table was ignored. Unfortunately, I opted for a soggy/wilted slice of cheesecake from the dessert table. Poor choice. Though, our server Jo, was a pleasant jem!
It's a good venue for brunch and it has a wide variety of items. I have had brunch their quite a few times and it has been consistent in the quality of food. It is a definite recommend based on brunches offered around the Philadelphia area.
My family and I enjoyed our brunch. This is the first time my husband and I invited guest and they truly loved it. My nephews ages 8 (twins) and their older brother (10) enjoyed the gardens. My sister was thrilled with the atmosphere and the variety of foods offered. We will return again.
My girlfriends & I were celebrating a birthday at the Sunday brunch. The food was fresh & plentiful. The roast beef was nicely rare & melted in my mouth!
The acoustics could use improving -very loud when dining room full - I know that's what you expect butthe design of the ceiling contributes.
Thanks for listening
We ordered the nachos as an appetizer and was charged $6 additional for what appeared to be less than 1/4 cup chili. It was a very small amount and the 3 of us found it difficult to share because there was not enough. Also, the cheese was so melted on (or they sat under a warmer for way too long ) because when we tried to pick up a chip it was all in one huge clump and we had to pull it all apart to even eat it. This appetizer took way too long to come out from the time we ordered it and we had to ask the waitress when this was coming out. The nachos finally arrived and we started to eat it and less than 5 minutes later our entree came out! Timing was terrible and the waitress asked if we wanted her to take it back and keep it warm but since 2 of us ordered filet minon medium rare we didn't want it to get overdone so we just accepted it. The very small filet was not worth $30. It came with one small bit of over salted spinach and about 5 or 6 roasted potato halves. We have had a much nicer cut of filet with more sides for far less money at finer restaurants. We were disappointed. My other daughter ordered the meatloaf and felt that the slices of meatloaf were very thin and not enough for the price. We shared a very small brownie parfait that we felt was also overpriced for the size of the dessert. We were guests of the hotel and ate here out of convenience but we will not be returning as it is overpriced for the amount and quality of food and they need to work on timing the meal better. Overall, we did not enjoy this experience.
