Glen Rock Mill Inn
Built in 1837 as a woolen mill, the historic Glen Rock Mill Inn features dining areas adorned by rough hewn 14″ beams, original stone and brick work, a spring-fed fountain, and a collection of antiques, many from the 19th century and a full bar and lounge area.

What a special place in Glen Rock! Fantastic service, fantastic food. Very hospitable. Recommendations of the highest degree.
The most authentic restaurant in York, Interesting Borough, great building, homegrown foods & chef. Love the place.
One of our top three restaurants in all of central PA. Out of five stars we give it a 10. Appetizers are amazing and entrees are stunning and always changing. Farm to table at its finest. Service and ambiance can’t be beat. Kudos Brandon and Lawrence…
Glen rock mill inn was a great evening experience. The building restoration is fun.
Place, space, staff, service, ambience, live soft piano, value, drinks, food options, creativity, and food quality were all all 100% perfectly spot on. Highly recommend making a reservation and enjoy.
wonderful meal friendly service a perfect date night The restaurant may be full but they make you feel like you are the only one there. I have frequently recommend Glen Rock Mill to friends and family
service for $ was fair server never offer bread did not come back to check on
our drinks .
It was an evening to celebrate the birthday of three good friends and of course a holiday celebration. We traveled a distance to celebrate at this restaurant and it was worth every mile.
The food was superb, service outstanding and this quaint restaurant is worth a visit.
We were taken in a tour to see the different rooms you can enjoy a meal u
We will return and looking forward to it!
Ordered the same special: oyster stew with fried soft shell crab. Two weeks ago it was superb. Tonight it was terrible. Taste was off. Feels like ingredients were thrown together at the last minute. What was worse was that there were multiple pieces of oyster shell in the stew, some were near the size of a quarter! I was worried about biting into something that would ruin my teeth! Terrible experience! The waitress did apologize and take it off the check. No manager stopped by, and they did not do anything to show effort of trying to salvage a ruined dining experience. Dangerous kitchen. Not worth the risk! How can they allow big pieces of oyster shell in the stew?
The closest thing to a fine foods restaurant in the area. Beautifully decorated historic building. Very creative gourmet menu with an emphasis on local foods. The beef tenderloin tartare was a masterpiece. The cod with lobster risotto was disappointing (cod was overcooked and dried out). We both agreed we wouldn't order that again. Staff was working very hard to create a classy dining experience, but still had a way to go. Overall, we'd come again and try some of the other offerings (and more tartare).
We had great service and food once again
Food was excellent. Service was great. And romantic setting!
Amazing food, service and setting. Highly recommend this great restaurant!
Loved the atmosphere. The waiter and staff were wonderful. Great place to take that someone special. Will be going back again.
Always love the good food and accommodating hospitality of the GMRI. The entrees are imaginative, they bent over backwards for some dietary needs in our party, and I even liked the music, both on the box and over at the live jazz piano.
The meal was cooked to perfection. The cocktails was right on point and creative. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was just right for a romantic evening. This was my first time here and didn’t know what to expect but we will be back on many occasions.
Food and service were excellent! It was nice having a table for the 6 of us downstairs, out of the way where we could talk to each other and we didn't disturb other diners.
Great restaurant amazing service would definitely recommend
The food was absolutely incredible as usual, and the service professional and efficient.
Best filet mignon ever! The Portuguese seafood stew was excellent as well. We also shared the pumpkin layer cake with luscious icing.
If you are looking for a romantic dinner with great ambiance, this is the place. The small rooms were decorated for the Holidays, as we stayed at the Inn over Thanksgiving. There was also a piano player who entertained everyone. Don't pass this place up.
This was an outstanding experience Sue our server was fabulous and very knowledgeable of the history of the mill. The food was perfectly cooked and presented. The ambience was tremendous with the water feature and backed by a pianist that played perfect dining music. This has to be in my top 5 nationally and thee top here locally.
Our waiter was wonderful, but the kitchen was obviously short staffed. We waited an hour for our entrees. There was an event on the 2nd level which may have contributed to the backlog in the kitchen - but management should take this into consideration when determining available reservation times.
We were very pleased. First time there in many years. Excellent food, great service, beautiful setting. Nice wine list. Not cheap, but a good value. We were in a small room with ~4 tables, so it was not noisy (which is important to me!)
First time we ate in the wine cellar. Great location. Next time I will be requesting this location for seating
We had a delightful dinner at Glen Rock Mill Inn last night, and not our first. It was a rainy night, fairly quiet, but the service, ambiance, and especially the food were all outstanding. We feel so lucky to have a restaurant of this caliber close to our home, in this community where there is nothing, really, like it. Hats off to the chef!
Always wonderful and consistent. The food and service were outstanding!
Service was good. Wine was good, though they ran out of their featured red blend (and we were at early seating). The rigatoni was disappointing, was supposed to have chilean sea bass and I saw 2 small chunks that was it. Desert was good.
Excellent evening in every way. Like always!
This is a delightful place for experiencing the heritage of the area, the old rail line, and lovely fall leaves. The food is delicious and the presentation remarkable.
We needed to change the time of our reservation and it was facilitated with a smile and kind word by the front desk. Our server was attentive, pleasant and professional. We will be back!!!!
Excellent, well presented cuisine;, warm charming historic atmosphere ; attentive, non -rushed service. A wonderful dining experience.
Excellent dining experience. Food and drinks were of the highest quality. We will be back.
Fantastic food. Wonderful people. Romantic ambiance. ❤️❤️❤️
First time dining here last night and it was great! It is so quaint and cute; great location, attentive, and friendly staff. Make a reservation! So glad I did as another group would have had to wait 3.5 hours for the next opening. Will definitely be back.
AWESOME? Bottom line best restaurant in York!
Absolutely outstanding food and service. Always my our choice for a romantic dinner.
Excellent choice for a night out. We were sat in the fountain room which gave a great ambiance for our evening out. I enjoyed tge short ribs which were excellent, I will be back for those. My wife enjoyed the salmon which was cooked delightfully. Our appetizer was tge beef skewers and they were tender and flavorful as well. Overall a great date night out
We loved the entire experience and we will definitely go back again
Birthday celebration and we were treated special from moment we sat at our table. We would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!!!
