   A friend recommended this place and it was totally worth the drive from Santa Rosa. We had a late reservation, but the place was still pretty busy and welcoming. The food was great--especially the veggie dishes. We were super impressed with the creativity and flavors were big but not overpowering. We were visiting from out of town and were in wine country for the WINE more than anything, so we wanted to have a few glasses to share among the table instead of ordering bottles (which were all pretty pricey). Unfortunately our waitress was less than helpful in this department, and even though there were limited wines by glass, didn't have much in the way of recommendations. We ended up picking ourselves (and they were all good choices) but we were really hoping for more of an educational experience being in Glen Ellen and all... It seemed like a pretty classy place (and is top rated in the area) so maybe ask if there is a somm you can chat with if you're in it for the wine.

   We were staying in Napa but love this restaurant so much that we make sure we are in Sonoma for dinner. Cool place with phenomenal food and service.

   Love love love this restaurant! We made a reservation based on 2 recommendations but went in a little skeptical. It's small. It's casual. How can it be great? Jackie is what makes it great! She was relational, she was attentive, she was awesome. I wish we lived here so I could eat here and see her every week. The simple salad: so simple but SO good! So good we ordered a second one when our main dish arrived. The cauliflower: so beautiful I didn't want to cut into it! The carrots: a little spicy and so interesting. Not your grandma's carrots. And the whole fish: Mamma Mia! So good with the salad. We could have skipped the romesco sauce and been perfectly happy. A little EVOO and lemon on the fish and it would have been perfect. Can't wait to go back!

   While our server was very pleasant and polite, the host was not terribly welcoming when we arrived 15 minutes early. The food was quite expensive and there were almost no local wines on the menu. We were disappointed that the golden beets were burned on one side, the entres came with no vegetables, and the pizza was mediocre at best. A very loud table nearby did not add to our enjoyment.

   Excellent, fresh food and very friendly and attentive service. The brussels sprouts, brown suagar and bacon from the wood oven are to die for.

   Truly a neighborhood gem. The small kitchen wisely limits it's offerings to insure quality. Pizzas are terrific and wore serious items deliver. So try.

   I've been hearing about this great new restaurant, the Glen Ellen Star, for years and never stopped because it's a ways from home and I heard they didn't take reservations and there was always a line-up. Well, they DO take reservations now and it absolutely stood up to its reputation for a great dinner with friends - several small plates and then entrees each. Each plate was really outstanding. The only caveat is they could do more with sound absorption and use less salt - but I say that about every restaurant I visit...

   It's been a year or so since we were last at the Star. The delay between visits was because I was not really taken with the menu or the presentation. It was much better this time, especially the carrot appetizer and the ravioli; I would not walk far for the plain pizza. Loved the sticky toffee pudding. All in all, we'll be back.
