   We were four for dinner and all had different selections. The flavor and presentation were excellent. My lamb happened to be a bad cut so they replaced the dish and did not charge. The service could not have been better. Very crowded so reservations a must and parking could be a problem. Our first time there at the restaurant and we would go back if in the area.

   When we asked, "What are you known for?" and the server said, "our roasted vegetables," we were intrigued, okay skeptical.... But the perfect margarita pizza was only rivaled by their carrot & chickpea dish and the broccoli. Scrumptious! If you find yourself in this beautiful little town, do check out the Star. P.S. The make their own ice cream!

   Hip cuisine has arrived in Glen Ellen. Food at GE Star was fine. Roasted veggies, their specialty, were somewhat dramatic, while not particularly food for the eyes, especially the cauliflower which looked like a scorched mop hidden under a veil of white sauce. The brussel sprouts, however, were tasty in an interesting bacon sugar marmalade sauce. The spring lamb ragu was delicious, although the portion was a tad small for the $27 a la carte price. The pizza margharita was the best item we ordered. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

   The food at Glen Ellen Star is worthy of a Michelin star--so different and interesting. The wood fire is fine for pizza but the real treasures here are the vegetables. We had the brussel sprouts with bacon marmalade, the cauliflower, and the golden beets--each one was unique and outstanding--and really this could have been a meal. We did have the whole roasted fish as well and it was cooked to perfection and also wonderful.

   The food was excellent but the noise level unacceptable. There must be something that can be done to tone things down. Tablecloths? Carpet on the cement floor? Baffles on the wall. What was otherwise a great dining experience was ruined by the noise level.

   We went for the Wednesday Night Special and it was spectacular. Absolutely delicious and a great value too. The service was perfect as well. But then that has been my experience every time that I have dined here. I think Ari and his team offer the best dining experience Sonoma.

   The 'sunroom' is all hardscape and too loud to hear your tablemates. The short ribs were mushy. Our salad and wine saved the meal. Sticky toffee pudding was just a nice cake. The service was very good. Had the meal been good, the price would have been reasonable.

   Husband and I went on a Wednesday Neighborhood night and the 2 course meal was wonderful. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. My ONLY fault with the restaurant is the noise level. It can get a little too "lively". I will go back though....for the great food!

   While staying in Glen Ellen last year, we were introduced to this small but mighty dining spot. When we returned this year, we chose to eat here 2 out of the 3 nights in town! The food is incredible. The owner/chef is delightful and engaging, a former chef at the French Laundry who chose to bring excellent food to folks who didn't want to mortgage their house to have an incredible meal. The brussel sprouts are to die for and a must get item. This time we had the daily specials - a whole roasted Durade fish stuffed with fennel and the short ribs with cauliflower purée. Recommend sitting at the counter in front of the open kitchen as it allows you to chat with the chefs while they work their magic and they talk to you about what they are doing. Service is excellent as everyone is vested in making it an excellent dining experience. Recommended the Glen Ellen Star to fellow patrons at our B&B who all agreed it was the best dining experience!

    We're San Francisco foodies, but really enjoyed this little place. Warm and friendly, caring service, and lovely food (loved the lamb sumo & the sticky toffee pudding w/bourbon ice cream: enormous and delicious!). We will definitely return when we're next up in Sonoma/already looking forward to it!
