Glen Ellen Inn Grill & Martini Bar
The food was exceptional in both presentation and flavor. My wife was recognized for her birthday, nice touch. Parking is limited but free street parking is available if needed. We will be returning soon.
Hidden gem .... excellent plating and gastrointestinal delight for you and your dining companions. Please keep this establishment as is...no hoopla or loud music. Perfect the way you are today.
Love this wonderful hidden gem. The food is fresh and well prepared and presented. The wine list is great and the environment very good for conversation as well as laughter. Been coming for years and so glad they reopened after the fires.
Friends from Santa Barbara had enjoyed dinner at Glen Ellen Inn a few years ago and wanted to go there again. I said that I hadn’t been there since they suffered fire damage and reopened without lunch, but I made a reservation for us to go on Sunday night at 7:15. Could not have been a more lovely experience! Food, service, and weather made it yet another memorable experience for them and for me! The windows in the Lanai room were open and our corner table helped mitigate the full house noise. It will once again be a destination restaurant for visiting friend and me.
Nothing was mentioned about the birthday celebration for our guest Sandy which I had requested when I made the reservation. Just thought that perhaps a small jesture from the waitress would be appropriate. That was a disappointment. Could have been done easily when our desserts were served.
Wonderful service, lovely outdoor seating area. Wonderful food ( if you’re a Vegetarian, you’ll really enjoy the “ Buddha bowl” red quinoa, fresh assortment of vegetables, with a soy glaze and sliced fresh avocados over it) very refreshing especially in the hot wine country evenings! Have been coming here for years and will be back! Extensive wine list as well as signature mixed cocktails ( I had the lemon drop, actually had two of them as they were delicious!)
I love coming here, the service, food and martinis are great
We love this place!! Always fabulous! Love staying in the secret cottages as well.
We took my daughter and son-in-law there while they were visiting us from Mendocino, a very special occasion for all. We sat in outdoor area because it was really pleasant out. Every single item we ordered was fantastic, as was the service. It is our favorite restaurant when we’re at our Sonoma house and never fails to be the best!
Always a pleasure to eat at the Glen Ellen Inn. We celebrated my sister’s birthday here and we all had a good time. It has a nice country ambiance. Fish are a specialty of the restaurant.
This is one of my favorites. I make a point to make sure my husband and I eat here every year when we visit Sonoma to wine taste. Never been disappointed.
It was very quiet when we were there so not sure what it would be like if it is busy, but it's a gem. An unpretentious front facade hides the charm of the inside. The food was simply excellent and the wait staff were friendly, helpful, unobtrusive but there when you needed them. Truly a great casual dining experience.
We had not been to the Glen Ellen Inn in a couple of years. The menu had changed and it had become more family oriented. That is fine......just not what we were looking forward. It seems that the Glen Ellen Inn is back! The menu was wonderful and the dishes my husband and I both had were great. This restaurant used to be our "go to" place for a date night and we had been missing it. Happy to report, that it can become "our spot" again. AND, I had my favorite cocktail of all time..........a French Kiss. It was a lovely evening with delicious food, a great atmosphere, and of course, my husband. I would highly recommend giving them a try!
We had an absolutely wonderful night thanks to the outstanding staff, food, and. atmosphere. The setting is lovely and is a place we would highly recommend. We plan on coming back to try out one of their cabins and, of course, the restaurant again. By the way, I am not a martini person; however, I rank their cosmopolitans as Four Star. Sharol and Joe Gaither
Fabulous time celebrating Moms’ 75th!
From the biscuits to the martinis to my Moroccan meatball spaghetti—delish!
Absolutely wonderful experience. If possible, try to sit in the outside seating area. Although there’s not a great view, the decorations and ambience are very nice. Have a martini! Ours were perfect. Try the sautéed prawns; I thought they were one of the best entrees I’ve ever eaten. We will definitely return and bring other friends.
Pleasant experience. Great food, ambiance and service.
We enjoyed a wonderfully low key and delicious dinner. We had the gazpacho soup and grilled Caesar rather than an appetizer, and both were quite goo. The highlights were our entrees however: the ciopinno stock full of seafood and other goodies, and the lamb meatballs with curry simply delicious.. Our server was friendly and unpretentious and made good wine pairing recommendations. We were so stuffed we could not try the very tempting desserts. We will be back.
Everything was amazing except a server who thought we would be interested in hearing her complain about the fact that servers closed the door between the lovely porch and main restaurant. 10 min she complained! So unprofessional.
The Glen Ellen Inn is charming restaurant within walking distance from our stay. The staff was attentive and the Burger was very good. We had an early dinner and want to try the Glen Ellen Inn before heading back home. Nice place to go!
This is our favorite restaurant when in the area. The food is fantastic - always perfectly done, with excellent specials. I'm a vegetarian who favors organic and healthy, also I eat some fish, and my partner loves meat and veggies that are fresh and well-prepared. Love that we can make reservations with Open Table also!
Couldn’t have asked for anything more. Great meal, service, ambience. This is our second visit, and it was even better than the first (a couple of years ago).
On arrival we were warmly greeted by Cristi. Immediately we felt at home. Our questions about the menu were answered. Our party of three has lived all over the world. Dinner was fabulous! Cristi asked if we would like to meet the Chef? Chef John explained how he made our favorite dishes were made. So very gracious! We will all return! Don’t miss out on this dining experience!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎈❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The heirloom tomato gazpacho was delicious! The martinis were excellent and the service was perfect. Would definitely recommend this charming restaurant!
Family in town and wanted to take them to our favorite spot! We have planned many parties at the quaint special place and it always makes for special memories! Karen and crew are fantastic and amazing customer service and are true gems! Thanks all! Jackie and Jeff
Very disappointing. We made reservations for six. They set a table outside for us. We said we couldn't sit in 95 degrees outside. They had plenty of tables inside, but would not put tables inside for six people. Instead they sat us at high bar tables in the bar that were not only uncomfortable, there was no room for food. They are very proud of their food... $17 for 3 oysters. Really?
Would not have stayed, if it had been just my husband and I. Will never go back.
We were a party of six so we were seated on the patio. It was a little warm being outside but it was also quiet which was great. Our server was attentive and brought a special dessert for my mother even though we had not previously advised that it was her birthday. Three of us enjoyed the salmon entree while two had the short rib special. The portions were generous and the food tasted great. For dessert most of us shared the truffles (2 orders of Double Truffle). The truffles were large and those that had a whole truffle thought it was a little much. I had 1/2 a truffle and thought it was just the right amount.
Great find in Glen Ellen! The outdoor seating area is beautiful and while the food is very nice, there was nothing stuffy about the ambiance. Highly recommend!
I have no negative comments. The place is pleasant, service matches it.
Everything we needed and more! 7 friends celebrating a birthday wanted a round table and not a lot of noise. Bingo! Food was amazing, the watermelon gazpacho was over the top, service was great. Everything was perfect.
Service erratic. Food good, not great. Drinks and wine were good.
Charming, relaxing and just what we were looking for after a long day. Great cozy feel.
My Birthday Not acknowledged. Food was fabulous . Service not so much. Waitress opened our wine never poured us a glass. Never checked I. With us during any of courses. She was slow. Food outstanding
Pretty good but not fabulous.
We were with a group of local foodies and all were impressed with our different food orders. Unique and delicious ! The crab potsticker was fabulous!
Really great restaurant great ambience and excellent food
Excellent service. Attentive waitress. Good wine list. The wild salmon special from Bodega Bay was spectacular, not overdone, with one of the best sauces I’ve ever had. The cheese plate contained a very flavorful goat cheese and solid blue and Manchego. While the crackers were very good, the crostini weren’t. The balsamic sauce, strawberries and grapes were a nice touch! Definitely worth going back again.
We had dinner at the Glen Ellen Inn to celebrate our 43rd Anniversary. What a great restaurant with delicious food! The restaurant is very romantic, cozy, and reminds me of a old country dining establishment.
We arrived about 15 minutes early but the staff had already prepared our table. After we were seated a server brought out warm rolls to nibble on as we made our decisions. The restaurant has quite an extensive wine list and a large selection on Martini's.
For the Appetizer we had the Dungeness Crab Potstickers. They were large, served warm and the sauce was amazing. For our Entree my wife had the Halibut and I had the Petit Filet with Prawns. Both of these dishes were perfectly cooked and both were delicious. To complete our meals we ordered the Chocolate
Truffle and the Cinnamon Apple Crisp. These desserts were a delicious way to end a wonderful romantic evening.
The restaurant staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. This restaurant is very reasonably priced and is a real "gem" because of its location, decor, service and, of course, the outstanding food. We will definitely be back to try other menu items.
Always fabulous such a hidden gem. 4 of us celebrating our birthday they forgot but everything else fabulous
Food was average at best. service was fine but not so attentive.
