Glass Onion - Weaverville, NC
The soup was excellent. We stuck with salad and vegetable dishes. The potatoes were excellent, chard very good, salad quite good (spinach with feta and pear and beet). Perfectly sized servings, too!
Great place to dine during the week and have a conversation.
Brought some new friends to one of our favorite restaurants. As always, we all selected different appetizers and entrees and everything was excellent. Wish I could have had enough room for dessert
Im blown away; by far my favorite Italian restaurant; and the desserts were outstanding
One of my favorite gourmet dining experiences ever! Always treat me very special and you just cannot find any better food or service ANYWHERE in Asheville or surrounding areas than The Glass Onion! Thank you for a wonderful evening with you and your staff! I missed seeing Natalie!
Don't miss this restaurant or you will miss one of the best!
The service is consistently very good and the food is wonderful. The gnocchi primavera and date salad were outstanding. I appreciate the warm, inviting atmosphere and ability to accommodate my seating requests. Always a good experience!
The meal started on a high note with the garlic knots and continued upward from there. We shared the warm date/goat cheese salad. Yum. The scallops and lamb specials were indeed special. The from the regular menu the fettuccini with chicken and sausage was creamy but not too heavy. A great experience me, the regular, and my out of town guests.
Excellent food. Amazing tiramisu. Highly recommend.
Wednesday nite is the night to go-half price wine bottles and other specials. Food was great. My wife said we should go more often. Good value for pricing
Always a fave. Only 4 stars for food because I’ve been trying specials and don’t love them nearly as much as my usuals.
Will never keep us away. And, I’ll still try new dishes. I should have asked for my fish en papillote moist. It was too dry. Never easy when cooking for a crowd.
Thanks Glass Onion. You’re always high on our list.
See you soon
Service and atmosphere was excellent!
Very attentive server. Lamb was delicious.
This is our new favorite special occasion restaurant. The food and service is top notch. The Asheville area is full of great restaurants, but this one truly stands out. No bad menu choices, but I highly recommend the House Made Fettuccini w/ Roast Organic Chicken & Sausage - creamy goodness on a plate. The Grilled Certified Black Angus Rib-eye with Gorgonzola gratin sauce is also divine. Next time Seared Diver Scallops. Cozy, casual, and very nice. A simple combination that eludes many restaurants in the area that are better known than this one. They offer an honestly warm welcome that others in town could learn from.
Splurged on Valentine's Day dinner here with my partner. Found the ambiance to be comfortably lively - nice low lighting in a calm town. We were seated close to groups to our left and right, but that didn't detract from our meal at all. She ordered a fettuccine dish, which we both thought was just excellent. I tried a lamb dish for the first time, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The overall individual winner of the night was the garlic knots, though, wow! Our waitress was attentive and dropped by only the right times. Courses were quick to come out. Definitely a rare treat for us!
We both ordered the same thing, a salad with beets, mangoes, chicken etc , and were surprised to find that it had no salad greens at all. We both thought the dressing was also way too sweet and an excessive amount. Wish the waitress had warned us. We waited a very long time to order, and were not told about any specials. Did not get extra water until the very end as we were paying. We were also surprised to see us seated in very tightly with other diners all around us, when there were plenty of other empty tables elsewhere. (I don’t think the folks next to us were happy about that either).
We come here for special occasions. Great experience and easy parking.
Fine dining in a comfortable/casual atmoshere. The basic menu looks very good, but we went with two of the dinner specials (scallops and bone in pork chop) which were both very good. The decor is very tasteful and artsy. It would be a very good romantic date dinner location, if not for the fact that the tables for two are very close together, and the noise level requires you to speak up to be heard, which means your nearby dining neighbors can easily easedrop on your conversation.
A fun, energetic place and fine for a fun date night, or outing with friends/couples. If you are looking for cozy and intimately romantic, this is probably not the best choice.
Very good food and service though a bit rushed. Food was just warm enough not to send back but absolutely delicious. Will return.
Great food, welcoming and friendly atmosphere, attentive service, a wonderful dining experience
Excellent drinks, food and service! Delicious coconut cake to finish off our wonderful evening at the Glass Onion! On quaint Main St. in Weaverville.
Fantastic food! Fantastic service and the BEST garlic knots I’ve ever had!!! Bring all your friends/family!
Great food and wonderful wait staff!!
Food was very good and excellent service. Enjoyed the calamari and the coconut cake was delicious.
We have dined there several times and the food is always delicious. It would be nice to see a little more variation in the basic menu offerings.
Completely top notch all the way! The best dining experience Ive had in a long time. The eggplant rollatini was perfect! Thank you.
Pleasant greeting, great specials, and perfect service.
We loved everything about our evening at the Glass Onion. Wine choice was a Tempranillo and delicious. Salads were fresh and yummy and we all loved loved our entrees.
We regularly go to the Glass Onion for special occasions.
Outstanding food and great service. Easy parking is a plus
As expected, we had a wonderful lunch at The Glass Onion. Salmon was perfectly cooked and the Eggplant was cheesy and tasty.
Service was outstanding.......Attentive but not imposing.
Enjoyed our dining experience and will return.
Great food and great Service!
We were at Glass Onion on New Years Eve. They were very busy, but the wait staff did a great job! Tom was our main waiter, and he did his usual outstanding job. The food was excellent. I had the flounder in parchment and my husband had the salmon. Both were well prepared with excellent accompaniments. We shared the warm date salad, which is one of my favorites. Then shared my other favorite, almond cake, for dessert. The restaurant was bustling but we felt very comfortable and not at all rushed. Glass Onions is our favorite restaurant and is consistently excellent.
The veal bolognase sause was lackluster. However, the service was good. Tables are way too close together.
I really liked the food. I would recommend it
A real gem. Thankfully our of downtown and no crushing crowds to deal with in Weaverville. Fine dining in the country
Delicious, consistent and friendly. We frequent the restaurant often.
Glass Onion is fantastic. Casual chic with an amazing staff and owner. Do yourself a favor and go.
