simon was crisp and tasty, soup was infused with flavor, the salad was fresh.
Wonderful brunch menu with great outdoor ambiance! Also, very personable and attentive staff. I had the avocado toast and the chef accommodated my request for poach eggs instead of sunny side. The dish was super good, but too big for me. Could have easily shared it. My girlfriend ordered the ham and eggs frittata with fries, she said it was delish.
Always great. Love our waiter Jason. Always so friendly and accommodating.
Great service, meals were delicious & love the seasonal cocktails
Very disappointing. Spent $100 on a mediocre breakfast. The crab omelet had no crab in it, the French toast was cold and bland and the service was meh and our waited seemed bothered that we were there. Portions are small and we left hungry. I don’t mind spending money and don’t even mind smaller portions if the food is good, but this wasn’t. We stopped coming here for awhile because of poor service. Thought we would attempt to try it again because they do have a nice outdoor area, but I don’t think we will go back.
Another superb dinner. We are on the patio, which was quite comfortable when they switched in the heaters. I had the filet mignon which was perfectly cooked with the freshest cream spinach I’ve had in a long long time. My wife enjoyed the duck which was also beautifully plated generously portioned and superbly prepared. The crab tots as an appetizer are not to be missed. Ditto for the salads which were incredibly fresh and perfectly dressed. Desserts were equally impressive but we couldn’t finish them and brought them home with us. This is superb restaurant and they execute consistently.
Very good meal once again. Service from Troy and the other servers was excellent.
Excellent service. Music too loud, but they turned it down a bit- which was really nice! Great food.
Always a nice evening with good food and nice place. It was a little noisy this time and the service was a bit slower than usual, but I assume, like everywhere else, the labor shortage is impacting things.
Awesome food. Awesome atmosphere
Second time at this restaurant and we want to love it because of the ambiance and food descriptions however last night was especially disappointing because I was ready for 3 Fall dishes I read on their menu listed on Open Table and not one of them was listed on the menu at the restaurant. Very frustrating! I had an outstanding cocktail and an okay dinner of eggplant parmigiana. They were having Italian night. There are 3 excellent Italian restaurants within 1.5 miles so if I wanted Italian I would have gone there. I ordered the eggplant because although I am not a vegetarian I was looking for something with out meat which is why I was hoping for the squash dish that was not offered. My husband had the brisket which just tasted like pot roast. We will give this Tavern one more try but they really need to update the menu on Open Table please!
Great food as always but absolutely NO social distancing! We were five inches from the next table. We were there at 7:30 on a Friday night and the noise was deafening.
Beautiful night to dine on the patio. The new fall menu was very interesting. Loved the duck confit with cider braised greens, and my husband enjoyed his beef brisket. Our server was friendly and professional.
We so enjoyed our table on the front porch, privacy and protection. Food was excellent. Both couples shared the crab tots appetizer. The pickled okra was interesting. 2 chose the chicken schnitzel, one short ribs and one salmon. All the entrees were delicious. We shared the pumpkin cake for dessert…very much like carrot cake. A lovely evening.
Great menu, waiter was very helpful, sat out side, we both had salads that were very good.
Brought a date to Gladstone Tavern last evening. I made a reservation through Open Table and indicated I wanted outdoor seating. We arrived at our expected time and were promptly taken to our table. The reservation process went smoothly.
It was a Sunday evening, 5pm, and the restaurant was relatively quiet. We were taken to a tent covered patio area in the back that was wide open and nicely situated.
Our meals were rather simple. I had their burger and fries which was cooked to perfection and tasted very good. My date had some sort of a salad with shrimp which she really enjoyed. When the bill arrived I felt it was relatively inexpensive (though really we didn't have a large meal nor had any alcohol).
The waiter and service was great. My only minor complaint is that they seated another couple just inches away from us when the rest of the patio was still wide open. I mean, the table was mere inches away from ours which almost made it seem like we were all seated together. If you have a wide-open patio I would have done my best to spread people out more -- especially in a covid environment.
Overall, however, I would highly recommend this Tavern.
Had a lovely outdoor lunch with family on the patio. The service was good, lunch was good also. A nice spot to enjoy our Sunday family lunch
only reason I didn't give service 5 stars was that our food Tok quite a while, however in fairness they did warn us that they were short staffed in the kitchen. Overall an excellent experience and we're looking forward to going back soon
It was our first time here - Great outdoor dining, attentive staff, fall specials were yummy. Would definitely come back
An excellent local restaurant with multiple choices to choose from to eat.
Delicious birthday brunch on a lovely fall day. Was a bit slow service to start but reinforcements called in and quickly improved. Food was scrumptious.
Really enjoy the brunch menu and outdoor dining on the back patio. Have been twice and food was great both times.
The dinner was great. It was a little backup in the kitchen but our server told us immediately. My only complaint is that inside was very loud and not very private.
Next time I will request outside
Everything about the Gladstone is right. Great ambiance?, great, friendly staff, easy parking, unfortunately, the menu is very tough and limited. Everything is fairly priced except a $20 impossible burger priced the same as a regular burger is hard to swallow. Keep hoping the menu gets better, regardless of the seasonal change but no luck
Great night out at Gladstone, haven't been there since Covid hit and good to say it was just as we remember.
Our favorite place for lunch and dinner!
Food was good (they are pretty consistent), but it was unusually noisy (as compared to other times I have been here). There were a couple of larger families with very noisy small children near us.
Tavern managed to keep everyone served despite usual short staffing. Excellent food and very pleasant place; good value. Eating on the porch is pretty much perfect these days.
It was a great dinner out on the back patio with the family. Service was great and attentive as always.
Found this place because they were hosting a special fundraiser for a local animal shelter. There was a special menu where proceeds were donated and you were allowed to bring your dog and dine outside. There were even a dog-friendly items on the menu in case your dog wanted to dine too! It was adorable and although we did not bring our dogs, I love seeing establishments supporting local causes and especially being dog-friendly. Not enough places around where I can take my dogs. It’s a big deal to this dog lover.
Brunch was fantastic! We will definitely be returning soon!
Food was delicious and we couldn’t have had a better server. I had a special - grilled pork tenderloin with crab fried rice - it was sooo good! If I had one suggestion, it would be to install fans on the front porch. That’s only because it was super hot & humid - not that Gladstone can control the weather, but just a friendly suggestion.
Sunday dinner was the occasion. We sat outside on the porch which was great. First time visit for us. Server could have been more helpful explaining the menu and available wines to select from by the glass. Flatbread appetizer was very tasty but simply presented….like a pizza. The current menu has an Asian slant to it. The salmon was served with rice noodles an kimchi…unusual but very tasty combination. The pad thai dish was very well seasoned and served as a vegan entree. Desert was a simple key-lime tart served with a scoop of passion fruit ice cream and a smear of raspberry sauce. The bus staff was more attentive than our server during our visit. Overall, the food and the experience was good but did not leave me with a desire to visit again if it was a special occasion.
Food quality and preparation are generally quite good. The short ribs were perfectly prepared; however, the hamburger we ordered was somewhat overcooked.
This strikes the crux of the challenge. Our waiter was nowhere to be found until dessert and bill processing. He never asked how everything was until handing us the bill.
Upon arrival we were led to a table next to a large crowd. The dining area wasn’t very crowded, but when we asked the hostess to simply move us to give the big group and ourselves some space the hostess had to run off to see if she could move us across the area to a table that had a bit more space, not a bigger table, just a bit more space. It happened we expressed our gratitude and proceeded to wait for our waiter. He passed our table a couple times, never said “…welcome…be with you shortly…” He did finally come to take our beverage order (great bar, btw), and we the waited until he took our dinner order.
I must say the dining room runners were fantastic, polite and interested.
Again, except for the burger being a bit overdone, and the cheese clearly added afterward (it wasn’t the least bit melted), our starters and the short ribs were quite good.
Bottom line, if you can overlook a bit of the “new money” snob vibe, and you’re a party of more than two, you’ll have a pretty good meal.
The food was great. We had a great relaxed lunch in beautiful atmosphere. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Try the Buffalo Fried chicken sandwich. Amazing.
Requested back patio in the reservation but we were told when we got there that it was booked (despite empty tables on our arrival).
Very nice outdoor space
Delicious food and friendly, professional service. Nice range of selections on the menu.
Overall excellent as usual. The noise level was moderate but not impossible. The AC temp was too high, and condensation from air duct cover dripped on our table. We asked staff to adjust AC level, but this did not seem to make any difference.
Dinner was excellent, food was good, service was good. Was originally placed in the middle of a crowded room. Asked to move and was quickly accommodated. It was a hot night and the restaurant was so warm. They have a patio would have been a nice choice it was not offered.
