Gladstone Tavern is located in the Somerset Hills area of New Jersey. What once was a colonial farmhouse in 1847, has been restored and turned into a full-service restaurant. On a nice sunny fall or spring day, choose to dine on the covered porch or the patio. The dining room features comfortable seating, warm colors and a beautiful stone fireplace. Gladstone Tavern serves lunch and dinner daily, as well as Sunday brunch.

American cuisine with a modern twist fills the seasonally changing menu at Gladstone Tavern. Start with a beverage from the extensive cocktail and wine list. Had never been here despite living in the area for 18 years so thought we'd give it a shot for Mother's Day dinner since we hadn't booked anywhere else and they had last-minute availability. The food was delicious. We had the Lobster Pasta and Braised Short Ribs for dinner, and the Chocolate Lava Cake and an Angelfood cake with lavender for dessert. All were outstanding... except Angel food cake, which was just OK. Took awhile for waitress to get to us but after we got our drinks the service was great. Will definitely return. Would definitely return.

We love come here. Food is excellent and the service is first class. It’s a bit expensive but worth the money. I would highly recommend.

The food and service were excellent. The only complaint I have is that we specifically reserved indoor seating on-line, but the restaurant did not accommodate that request. As a result, we almost walked out of the restaurant since I requested indoor seating for good reason, which is because we were accompanied by my 92-year-old Mother, who cannot take the cold. However, the staff did a good job in re-arranging our outdoor table so that it was well-covered by outdoor heating, which satisfactorily resolved my concerns for my mother's well-being. Overall, the dining experience was quite good, so I'm giving the Gladstone Tavern a favorable review. We will definitely eat there again.

Everything was fantastic … long waits for drink orders and entrees to be served but the staff was clearly doing their absolute best. Food was excellent.

The Halibut was way overcooked and the quesadillas were very mediocre. Burgers were only ok. Disappointing given the price of the meal.

We ate out on the front porch with our two young kids. We ordered the Banh Mi special and items off the kids menu. They gave crayons and paper for the kids which was much appreciated. The food was very tasty and came out pretty quickly. The kids’ food came out first which we appreciated. The dessert was delicious as well. My only minor point of feedback is that as the restaurant got busier inside it did feel like our server may have forgotten us outside. Overall the service and food was very good and we would definitely go back.

Thought it might be too crowded and pretentious, but it wasn't and wasn't. We went a little before our reservation, and they seated us immediately. The food was fantastic and homey. The vibe was great, and not pretentious at all. Beautiful area and view.
