Gjusta opened late Fall of 2014 as a commissary kitchen providing bread and other products for Gjelina Group’s other restaurants, Gjelina and GTA, but quickly grew to be much more. Gjusta is a California deli, bakery, café, and market influenced by traditional East Coast Delis, European Markets, and Parisian Bakeries.

Gjusta sources nearly all of its fresh produce directly from SoCal farmers and most of the meat and seafood from local ranchers, fishermen, and co-ops. We shop at 5 farmers markets throughout the week and receive deliveries daily, ensuring we always have fresh product. Our relationships with our vendors are paramount, as they are not only mutually beneficial, they enact a positive change in our contemporary food system.

They couldn’t get away with it if the food wasn’t so good. The service is absolutely deplorable. There is no system and not enough people working. And the fact that we are asked to pay 20% for mandatory gratuity is so offensive. Please Gjelina group - you can do better.

Our server was awesome. We had a toddler and were disappointed the kitchen wouldn’t make certain adjustments (removing hot pepper from the burrito or flatbread pizza) for him. Only complaint other than that was the muffin on the tiny egg muffin sandwich was ROCK HARD. Yikes Out service was outstanding however

Gjusta used to be my favorite place, but now, I don't know anymore. It seems it's in this phase that restaurants enter after a while, when they live from past glory, raise prices and lower the quality, before closing or selling.

For the first time they got part of our order wrong. Also new DJ was very loud. Our table near the the alley had a major problem with biting flys. They need several more fly traps as well as more fans. The flys seem to bite your legs and hurt. We won’t be back until they solve the problem.

They had flies that penetrated socks and stung us throughout the meal. Granted our waiter tried to spray some pesticide to deter the flies which we appreciated but it didn’t help at all. Please get the flies under control or at least provide us some trousers to wear so we don’t get stung.

The ambiance at Gjusta was very nice, & our food was tasty. But the service was absolutely horrible & (even though I’ve cut restaurants *major* slack during Covid) having a mandatory 20% tip when our server was terrible didn’t sit well with me. She ignored us & made mistakes, meanwhile chatting with other tables about her side hustle. The bus boy was looking at me in pity as I attempted to catch her eye. Just a disappointing experience.

Service is terrible and they charge 20% gratuity up front so you can’t tip depending on the service received. Missing plates. Food wasn’t delivered at the same time, half the table was finished before we received the other food. Used to love this spot but will not be returning.

It’s my second time there and I loved it. Everyone there is so lovely and kind, ready to help you. Kudos to Maya and also Gabriel. Also there is this very nice gentleman that help me pick a great bread to take home (he has glasses- I do apologize for not remembering his name) and he was great as well. Food is excellent, delicious and portions are big. Loved also their Tahini&White Chocolate croissant. Amazing!!! Love this place

Love love love. Come here every now and then and I’m always delighted. Their build your own fish sandwich (smoked/cured or pickled, not fried) is amazing. Same with the fish platters. Great coffee, even better breads and pastries. Don’t hesitate to go here.

It's great to have outdoor patio at the back but it's too hot for summer. I like to be out of the sun and get tan but too sunny for lunch. Food always is excellent, best smoked salmon ever

A reservation is recommended for dining in. The service was ok but the kitchen service was very poor. We ordered a plate of bread and drinks as starter prior to putting in our orders. We were a party of four. First person received their dish within about 10 minutes. 2 other received dishes about 35 minutes after and the final person received their dish nearly 1 hour after ordering. Bread also arrived with the final dish. We were comped for the last plate but the experience was very poor. Great food; Poor service. Likely won't be going there again

It‘s a fabulous place. Conveniently located just off Main Street and Rose. Delicious choices, pleasant atmosphere, friendly and attentive service. Will definitely come back many times.

Consistently great food. Always. That part is predictable… they seem to be suffering as all restaurants are with being understaffed these days. Our server was friendly, but not attentive. Happy to overlook that for the high quality, seriously delicious food. Yes it’s expensive - but you do get what you pay for. The quality is the best. It’s Venice, it’s bougie, don’t be shocked by the prices. The outdoor dining space is quiet + lovely. A welcome addition. We love it here.

GJUSTA is my favorite restaurant in all of LA. HOWEVER, I went online on Tuesday to make a reservation for Friday for 3 at 5. I was told there was nothing after 4. So I took 4. Then I found out that there's a separate dinner menu and that begins at 5. So we were directed to have lunch. Which was delicious. BUT... there must be a way to have an all-day menu or to move the dinner menu up to 4. ALSO... I never leave Gjusta without buying some pastries to take home. The last 2 times I was there the pastries were all but gone. PLS...make more pastries. Stop turning us away.

I appreciate that Gjusta has expanded its outdoor seating area and now accepts reservations. The outdoor space is tranquil and shaded by a large tree. The tables are safely spaced. The staff were kind and attentive. And as always the food is delicious.

All outdoors, and that’s fine. But lots of flies. No liquor license and while you’re invited to bring your own, there’s a $35 corkage fee. I think that part is a little yuck. Good music, great food, good service. Hopefully the end of the pandemic will erase those other issues.

You must have a lox bagel sandwich. You will get yo whole life back! Always a good place to eat. We’re still in COVID regulations, so service was not the greatest however far from terrible. Food is always good, a few item on the menu may be a bit different from description. My favorite thing to do is drop $100 in the bakery on goodies like baguette, whipped burata, za’atar hummus, pastrami lox, and pickled veggies. Seating is currently outdoor. We did make reservations via Open Table up one leaving at 10am, the line was already halfway down the block. I’m never sad I made the trip t Gjusta Bakery.

The food is always delicious at Gjusta and the staff is always gracious and lovely. The main issue is that the quantities are generally REALLY small, especially for the price, and I am not even a big eater. I somehow always leave a bit hungry.
