Giuseppe & Sons
Four of us dined at the restaurant recently. While the decor was very tasteful, the lighting was poor. None of us could read the menu without the use of phone flashlights.
We specifically told the waitress not to rush the courses. We had no longer finished the last bite on the first course before the next dish arrived. So much for pacing!
The artichoke appetizer was tasty but very salty as was the chicken piccante. The temperature of the orchiette and sausage was luke warm. The Caesar salad was good but also alittle salty and the "gravy" for the pasta was really thick and sugary tasting.
I had lunch the previous week and the eggplant parmesan sandwich was delicious! I guess lunch is the way to go!
Ambience and service was fantastic! Food could have been a tad bit better but no complaints!
Amazing meal! Great service! We had the tasting menu and it is one of the most amazing meals we’ve ever had! Would go back in a heartbeat!
Food wonderful. Service great but I did not like servers standing out the table while we were eating. They practically took the plates out from under as while we were still eating. It was quite rude. Dining is an experience not a rush in and get them out felt like we were in a cattle shoot.
Had to tell the server to please let us finish our food and then you can take the plates. Slow it down a bit. Let your patrons enjoy the food. We were not lingering and there weren’t people waiting to sit down. There were plenty of empty tables.
I took my girlfriend there on Sunday for a belated Valentine’s Day celebration. We ordered the tasting menu.
It was fantastic. Everything was made to order . We started with the meatballs and the tomato pie apps and both were fabulous. We ordered the Flounder and the Chicken Milanese as our entrees and both were outstanding.
We will be coming back soon as this place already ranks as one of our favorites!
I live in Lehigh Valley but will make it a point to be there at least once a month.
Enjoyed it. Will be back. Love the setting and menu. Will take advantage of the drink menu next time.
Food is pretty bad and bland, but it’s a great location. Service was good. Would not come back here unless it’s for drinks unfortunately.
Overall great experience in a magnificent space. Love the upstairs space as well. The food was all very good, but not outstanding. The bartenders at the upstairs bar were very slow and seemed like novices. Our server was nice, but not extremely polished.
Food was moderate at best.Awesome ambiance. Not worth a long stint, but cool if you’re in the neighborhood.
Amazing first experience at Guiseppe & Sons for a Valentines Dinner. We went with the Chefs Tasting which did not disappoint. The ambiance was fantastic and our server, Greg, was outstanding. My husband and I will be returning more than likely with the friends and family we raved about our meal to!
Not this group’s best work but there is certainly potential. Atmosphere and service were great. Hopefully the food will catch up relatively soon.
Ambience was the best. Service was great and the gnocchi was AMAZING!
It could be a very special place. The food was really good - meatballs and gravy, tomato pie, caesar salad, all the pastas, swordfish, banana cream pie. Service was good but needs some work - 2 of the same appetizers came out within a few minutes of each other; 3 main courses came out and then it was 5 minutes before the 4th arrived. Soundproofing is great and the space looks great but the lighting clearly was not even thought about - needs to actually have useable light.
My fiancé and I dined here as a belated Valentine’s Day dinner. We could not have been happier! The ambiance was cozy and romantic and the service was fantastic! Not to mention the food and drinks were top notch in our opinion. We even received a complimentary dessert after sharing that our wedding was next month with our server. Highly recommend this place, we will be back!
First time I went to this restaurant for my birthday it was really good. So our next visit it was just ok . I ordered the spaghetti and crab and was disappointed , the sauce was kinda sweet and because of the very poor lighting I could not pick at my crab on top . We did the chef tasting and seemed like we were being rushed , almost all the food came out within a few minutes of each other. Don't think I will return , the food was just ok but the lighting is very poor .
I love the look of this place. Gives the impression of an a night club from the 30's. The service was great but the food was the star. All delicious small plates that were more than ample for two people. The Veal Cheeks Saltimbocca was unbelievably good! Must order!
Excellent service. Short wait but was compensated which was much appreciated. Staff was very attentive and went above and beyond. Taylor was awesome and the managers were great!
Everything was AMAZING!
Very good except the main entree was served before we had time to finish appetizers.
Great food, the chef’s tasting menu is not to be missed. The drinks are amazing. However, don’t sit near the bar if you want to hear your dining companion! The tables near the bar are small, crowded, and so tight against the bar that we had drunken women commenting on our dinner choices. The restaurant is cavernous and there is plenty of space not near the bar — such an awkward place to sit!
Dinner with 6 friends before the opera / very nice!
We had a reservation and we didn’t get eta for 45 minutes. My martini at the bar was bigger than the one I got at the tables; the meatballs were extremely dry, they were out of lobster so I got the crab and spaghetti. An entire crab came on top of my undercooked pasta with no cracker to open the crab with.
Great wait staff and even though we waited for our reservation a bit longer then expected they comped our dessert and we really nice about having to make us wait. Tasting menu was outstanding
I would only recommend for drinks and desert. I was really disappointed the the food. We had the chef tasting, nothing had flavor, it was supper small portions and no taste. I will go back to hang at the bar though. Sorry, Marla K
They greeted us with champagne for our engagement anniversary. This place screams a unique date night!
The ambiance was beautiful. I loved our seating arrangement (sat next to each other facing the entire restaurant). The drinks were great (Girard Estates & Palma Fizz). Our waiter was nice but very hard to understand him because of the noise level. He also kept pushing the chefs tasting, which kept getting annoying because we did not want to eat a lot and we made that pretty clear. It was also very hard to get his attention as he was gone every 10-15 min. It took forever to get our check luckily we had other servers to help us out! Overall, the food was alright. Nothing new Italian 3/5 drinks definitely 5/5 and service 3/5.
Good environmenrt, great service, food good too
Beautiful large space. Attentive service. Delicious cocktails. Great vegetarian sides. Wish they had pesto sauce as arancini, spaghetti & gnocchi had the same sauce.
We had chefs tasting menu so we could try several different dishes. Everything was excellent and the portions were large. Had to take our cannolis home for later! Loved especially the stuffed artichoke hearts. Chicken marsala excellent. The bread was the best.
Perfect for a couple on a date, great small plates and reasonably priced. Make a reservation at least a week in advance for a proper time.
Really average Italian food, not worth the price at all. Bland white garlic sauce, one note red sauce, very disappointed.
Ate a lot, drank a lot, paid a lot. Very noisy and tough to communicate, service was decent but not excellent.
All was amazing
Restaurant is described as family style but portions are too small. Tables are too small too accommodate multiple plates. Dishes are ok, nothing extraordinary. The chicken piccata was bland, swordfish too small, beans and escarole was flavorless. The only thing the stood out was the buffalo mozzarella. If you don’t try this restaurant you’re not missing out on much.
Great design, food, drinks, and ambiance. Servers were friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed the tasting menu option.
great downstairs location; bar is excellent; food outstanding; service also outstanding; will be a "go to" spot for us
Terrific all around. Excellent ambiance, service and food. We shared the Chefs Samplers...we can't wait to go back
I am a pescatarian so I didn't see a whole lot on the menu that I can eat. However, I did order the lobster. It was unremarkable. The pasta was overcooked and the gravy was bland. Overall atmosphere was nice though and our waitress was wonderful.
Evidently a new "in" place judging from the dressed-up, excited crowd of thirty somethings. Downstairs, a good looking decor with a big old school bar, and comfy banquettes lining the walls. Upstairs, a more utilitarian coffee bar, though with full drinks service, Italian-Style, made for a more peaceful place to have a drink and wait for our reserved table to be ready. Good professional service from the time the hostess came upstairs to get us through to Taylor, our (very) enthusiastic and efficient server. We shared apps of Shrimp Scampi and a Caesar Salad, then ordered Chicken Parm, and the "Wild Boar" Bolognese.
Portions were generous but we both thought the general state of the offerings were ho-hum. We appreciated the carafe of Nebbiolo at a very reasonable $36.00 considering the rest of the wine list was what I considered over-priced. The food on the other hand was almost ridiculously inexpensive though, so everything balanced out. No real complaints but I don't think we'll try it again.
