Chef Stephanie Izard and her team are thrilled to join LA’s vibrant restaurant community and continue our tradition of serving tasty, bold-flavored foods in a fun and lively family-style setting. A few favorites, like goat empanadas and sautéed green beans, will be back on the menu. Stephanie and her team have also crafted new dishes inspired by California produce and local flavors, like carrot-tahini dip with tahini tofu, and curried goat with radishes, pickled vegetables, and masa chips. To enhance the experience we offer a selection of wines from around the world with a focus on small producers, a rotating list of craft beers, and a list of fun cocktails created by our bartenders.

Located in the Arts District at 555 Mateo, Girl & the Goat offers dinner service Monday through Sunday, plus brunch Sunday. Girl & the Goat accepts reservations but always welcomes walk-ins, nomads and adventurers!

Had a fantastic ladies night out with tasty cocktails and delicious food. Our waitress was so informative and helpful with making our meal choices the best possible with both the regular and vegan menu. Every single dish was fantastic and honestly wished I ordered every dessert for the table :) Will definitely be going back with my husband.

Came for Sunday brunch for party of 3 and ordered 4 dishes which was right for us. Pork chap chae (pork was so tasty, flavor of the noodles/veggie complemented the pork so well) and salmon/crumpet (crumpet was yummy and the small side pickled sides complemented well) was really good. I would order them again. Shrimp omelette and sourdough pancake was ok. I would try something else next time. Non-alcoholic sunrise and sunset drinks were fun. I liked the sunset drink, little tangy but might like sunrise if you prefer something sweet. Ambience was beautiful indoor. Overall, great experience and will come back to try dinner menu. Recommend open table reservation.

We were a party of six and everyone was satisfied with all aspects of the brunch. The food was special, the service perfect, the ambience great. My husband doesn't hear well, and he said he could everything because the noise level was low enough. We ate outside and it was very gloomy and cold, but the heaters kept us toasty. Loved it!

Having previously been wowed at Duck Duck Goat in Chicago, we were quite excited to finally get a chance to dine here. Maybe our expectations were a bit high, but none of us in our party were wowed. The food was mostly good (highlights and lowlights below) but the service was the real issue. We were seated promptly for our 7:30 reservation. We finally saw our server around 7:45. Never a good start, but OK, it happens. Drinks finally in hand, we got some insight on the menu and ordered a bunch of sharing plates- a total of 9 dishes for the four of us. First, an appetizer we didn't order shows up. Nope, send that back, apologies are issued for the mixup. Then we start getting what we did order. After 6 of the dishes, they start clearing plates and our server drops dessert menu's on the table. I reminded her that we had three more dishes. Oops, more apologies, fresh plates are distributed, and after 10-15 minutes, two more dishes arrive. Still waiting on the chicken. Uh oh- here come those dessert menus again! Thankfully, before we can get her attention, the chicken shows. But have to say, didn't feel great to be thinking they missed it again. And the rush to get dessert menus to us felt more like a rush to get us out so they could have the table. Food itself was mixed, but skewed towards very good. Highlights were the Pretzel Pull Apart (pastrami butter- WOW!), Pork Belly Noodles, Chickpea fritters, sautéed green beans and grilled skirt steak. Chicken skewers were good (not great), grilled branzino got lost under a pile of salad that was almost identical to the accompaniment to the skirt steak, and the shrimp and crispy greens had weird scent that made it somewhat distasteful, at least to me (others in the party enjoyed it, in fairness.) OH yeah- try to avoid getting seated on the wicker seats. Apparently the cushions must be out for cleaning. Sore butts all around, so we passed on dessert.

We had a wonderful first time here with our friends. The Green beans are a must have and the halibut was spectacular. We found the goat special to be a bit too gamey, but still interesting. Shrimp salad was very yummy, as was the pretzel bread. The mango sticky rice was a great finish. Overall, really enjoyed the experience.

Came here alone for my birthday from Chicago and had the absolute best dining experience I have ever had. The food was perfect, the service was perfect and the vibes were immaculate. The staff and service manager went above and beyond to make it a perfect birthday evening. I could not possibly give Girl and the Goat LA enough praise. If you want to have a truly exceptional night out I highly recommend going there.

I love the food at Girl & the Goat. Everything was just delicious. The portions are a bit small, but I guess with the cost of food rising, it's normal. The service started out great, our server was super attentive until another party sat next to us. Then it felt like she forgot about us. I wanted a second glass of wine but she didn't check on us for so long that by the time I got that second glass of wine, we were pretty much finished with our food. Then it took forever for her to take our payment. My card was on the table for a few minutes before she even noticed. And we could see her walking around, she didn't look that busy.

I absolutely love this place, and every time I go I love it more. This was my 3rd time here. First, literally everyone with whom we interacted from the front desk hostess to the bartender to multiple servers (only one of which was assigned to our table) "welcomed us back". The server who helped us the last time we dined here approached our table recalling multiple details about our last experience, which was several months earlier. She knew we loved desserts and recommended the lemon and strawberry posset, which was incredible and reflected that she recalled our tastes. The food is consistently exceptional. This time we had the beet salad - which we have had on every occasion and is the best in LA; the ahi poke and pork shank. The pork shank is out of this world - incredible combination of textures and flavors served with both lettuce wraps and spiced naan bread. I would come to Girl & the Goat every week if I lived closer. 5 stars on every level.

Easily one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. This is my 2nd time coming for dinner and we ordered different items from the visit, and each was spectacular! I was honestly both surprised and impressed. So many flavors and textures to the meals. Highly recommend this place for the food alone. The restaurant is also lovely, and the service was excellent!

The food is a very clever, fun and delicious fusion of global flavors and cultures. We loved every bite. It's a great setting, bright and contemporary, but not cold or sterile. The only miss is the $18 glass of wine, small pour and not worth it. Good beer selection at expected price. Try the Pork shank!

Everything was delicious, except for the Branzino. The taste of the branzino was much to be desired. And, the cold sweet & sour (more sour) slaw was a distraction. I would recommend taking that particular branzino recipe off of the menu. I would, also, like to see the redfish returned to the menu. What a scrumptious dish…

Such a lovely comfortable restaurant with great atmosphere and decor. The shrimp salad was outstanding and can’t wait to order again. The chicken skewers were delicious but wasn’t too fond of cashew butter sauce (didn’t like the consistency). The grilled skirt steak was flavorful and reminded me of a Thai grilled steak salad. It was too frilly though, where you couldn’t see the steak. Overall, we enjoyed the food, our favorite being the salad. The bussers were on top of things. The waiter was fine but didn’t talk much about the food when asked.

The food is excellent... especially the crispy shrimp salad. The pork shank was delicious, as was the halibut. The skirt steak was a little chewy and too rare for my taste. It appears the customer doesn't get a choice how it is cooked. At least that's was server Niles said. "The chef prepares it rare" and there is no other choice. Otherwise, very good food and drinks. Desserts need work. Minimal choice and not up to the level of the main food.

We came for brunch and though the menu is limited, I enjoyed the food! We got the little piggy and crumpets w/ smoked salmon! Everything was very flavorful. They don’t have mimosas on the menu, but they DO have them! I wish they did something nice and complimentary for a birthday though, I think those gestures go a long way especially if a restaurant knows!
