This was the most amazing food I have ever had. Never had flavors like this before and I was actually laughing because I could not believe how good It tasted. The braised short rib and the goat belly were my favorites!!!!
Dinner for two. Perfect evening for shareable food together.
Our experience was lovely.
Family visit. Food was interesting enough to be intriguing but delicious enough to be unforgettable! We had a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back.
Takes Tapas and makes it even more family style. Mussels are insane.
The only downside was the crowded, noisy atmosphere, but with food this good I guess I’ll have to live with that. Adventurous, unexpected flavors, perfectly prepared and presented. The service was excellent, with attention given to the sequence and timing of each selection. I’ll need to come back and try a few more things.
Waitress was incredible nice! Overall experience was great.
Excellent food and great service ... our waiter was not shy with his excellent recommendations. Tuna and pork shank big hits, along with grilled oysters, beet salad and sour dough bread. Really top flight food an not at all over hyped.
Everything was amazing!!! One of the best meals we have ever had! Sourdough bread, chickpea fritters, goat empanadas, duck tongue, scallops, Carmel corn malt balls, and sticky cake! I can not pick a favorite. Our server, Taylor, made the dinner even better. Can’t wait to go back with friends!
We had the goat shoulder for 3 of us a great wine and some veggie sides. Perfect! Have the goat!
Loved Girl and the Goat! I have learned that I would eat anything Stephanie Izard creates. Owen was our server and he was wonderful! Gave great recommendations and courses out the meal perfectly. Can’t wait to return!
Each dish we ordered was an amazing mix of flavour and fresh ingredients. We enjoyed the Michigan Cider, Chickpea fritters but the best part of the meal was the Pork Shoulder. Fantastic presentation, portions and variety of options even with a seafood allergy.
G&G is such a big name that we actually had a little trouble on Tuesday. We had a group of only four, coming from three offices, trying to squeeze in dinner before a big event at the United Center. Two of us arrived right on time and could not get the table until all four arrived. We tried to explain the situation to the very young hostess that "all were on their way" but she was not having any of it. She sent us to the bar and we were steaming. Fortunately, our third member arrived very quickly and a seemingly more senior hostess saved the situation by offering to seat us. Our fourth texted in her drink order and we were off to a good time. I understand that the hostesses sometimes get blindsided by people who say they have four and only two show up...but this was not handled very well. G&G is so popular, it won't matter. Food and wine were great. The senior hostess and our server did their jobs very well.
Spectacular meal. A repeat from 5 nights ago. The oysters were to die for, as well as the hamachi crudo. Don't miss the yummy cake dessert!!
One of the best in Chicago. Incredible experience overall.
It was all really good but I was looking for something that made me say wow. Especially after i had to reserve 2 months in advance. I had the goat mousse, beet salad, scallops and pig face. I would be glad to try it again and see if any of the other dishes hit the jackpot. The place was hopping on a Monday and tables are very close together. Overall a good experience.
Llegue una hora antes y amablemente me pasaron a una mesa. Fue mi cumpleaños y la mesera fue un sueño! Súper atenta, amable y graciosa. Ella u el demás staff del restaurante hicieron una experiencia inolvidable
Overall, my wife and I enjoyed our time at Girl & the Goat. The only real issue we had was price to proportion of the dishes. While the dishes (i.e., the size of tapas) were amazing, the amount of food on some of the dishes was a bit overpriced.
Again though, we had a great time just wish the price for the dishes were a bit more reasonable.
Creative, wonderful food and excellent service. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant. I live in NYC and this rivaled some of the very best meals I've had here. The chickpea fritter things were to die for, as was the Hamachi crudo. Wish we'd had room for dessert because they all looked amazing as they went past to the table next to us!
Always LOVE my experience. Some of the dishes were a little too salty this time around.
Such a great establishment. Creative cuisine, absolutely delicious. No culinary disappointments whatsoever. A bit too crowded and noisy to support personal conversations. Arguably the best restaurant I have been to in Chicago ( after living there for 15 years).
Amazing food and service!! loved the place.
I’ve been to girl & the goat before and LOVED it so i wanted to share this gem with a friend who was visiting. We got lucky & Got a last minute reservation. Once seated we asked for some recommendations from our waiter because we were a little overwhelmed. He said he did not want to give us any as it was important to choose on our own. He was not interested in helping us out at all. AT ALL. It was so incredibly odd & uncomfortable. It felt as if he did not want us there.
We ordered a lot of options. One was the ahi & one was the crispy short ribs. I could live off ahi & short ribs-so I was excited. But unfortunately the ahi was very fishy & the short ribs were incredibly gamey. The only item i thoroughly enjoyed was the shisito peppers-INDANELY DELICIOUS. I was very underwhelmed by the food & the service. That dinner has left a very bad taste in my mouth for what used to be my favorite restaurant in Chicago.
The kitchen created fantastic and creative food. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive. I would highly recommend!
Great restaurant. Fantastic food, drinks and service.
We had an unpleasant experience after being denied a popular entree only to see the adjacent table receive the entree despite ordering 15 minutes later. Otherwise, excellent all the way around.
I've been waiting for months to get into Girl & the Goat, and it did NOT disappoint. We had great cocktails and food, our server was able to offer suggestions and I loved the diverse options available on the menu! I can't wait to go back again.
Food was overall fairly tasty. We enjoyed the olive yuzu bread, the pork face, and the shishito peppers, which were all pretty delicious. We also ordered the calamari, which we did not like much - the taste was bland and a little fishy. Went for boyfriend's birthday dinner, so the dessert came with a candle. Server was very nice and helpful. The cocktails were wonderful.
First time here— amazing food! Fancy menu, small menu with small portions served- meant to be shared. Each dish was better than the last and the feel of the restraunt is somewhat casual (jeans definitely acceptable) which I liked given the dining is more upper end and usually if dining is fancy than so is the ambiance. GREAT service and awesome food. They paired things together the average person wouldn’t know tasted good together in one dish but somehow do. Not for someone who is looking for a basic American meal, as the options are a little funky (see menu before booking).. but even so, the food items sound one way and end up tasting another- in a Good way!
Fantastic! The service was great and food was very delicious!
Never disappoints. Had the pork shank which was amazing as always. Took a friend who was intimidated by the menu and she loved it! I can't wait to go back.
Loved this restaurant, other than the noise level. We had a hard time hearing each other. We're in our 60's, so maybe it's our hearing. We had the blue point smoked oysters, cauliflower, green beans and duck tongue. All dishes were lovely with our favorite being the cauliflower. At the bar before dinner we had Ring of fire, which was delicious and Dolce vita, a little too medicinal for my taste. We look forward to a return visit to try different menu items.
As good as the reviews said it would be! Excellent.
The food was wonderful, all share-able and well done. The perogies were superb, and the desserts should not be missed.
We arrived on time, was seated right away. We ordered Tapas style with many different selections and they were all very good. The wait staff is very attentive, informative and fast. We felt like part of the family and we will return very soon. The value is great and oh yeah the cocktails were the best!
The pork shank is to die for, though the kimchee sauce could have a bit more kick. Love the cauliflower. Seating is too tight and more craft beers on tap.
Amazing drinks and scrumptious food! Save room for dessert because the toffee cake and gooseberries is mega-delicious!
My only real complaint is that the kitchen line appears to be all white. There was one African American who came through restocking pans. I like to think this is not in purpose but surely this takes effort in a place like Chicago.
Initially we were a little taken aback because we sat at the Chefs table, when the night was intended for an intimate birthday dinner. However, it was pretty neat conversing with the chefs (Sam and Cole were very knowledgeable and entertaining) and seeing all the food being prepared. The food was delicious!! We absolutely loved the crispy short ribs and bucatini!! The chicken wasn’t what we were expecting and definitely something we will leave out next time we dine. We practically rolled out of the restaurant we were so full!!
Finally....after years of attempting to get a table in order to entertain customers at this top Chicago hot spot, my timing must have been perfect....this restaurant surpassed my expectations. With 3 people, we shared 6 small diverse plates across their spectrum of offerings, and 2 deserts. The verdict...Over the top.
