What Insiders Are Saying
One of the most well known restaurants in Chicago, and one that lives up to the hype.
Food was amazing and great staff & service, but the noise level made conversation almost intolerable. They need to invest in some type of acoustical dampening or sound masking system, seriously.
It was super yummylicious
Service was excellent, the waiter guide us to choose a combination of small plates to share, great taste. Dessert awesome!
What a special place with outstanding service and exceptional food. Love the goat empanadas and cauliflour, soft crabs, it was all so delicious!
Amazing food. Everything from the goat menu was phenomenal! Will be going back again sometime soon.
albeit noisy, it was one of the most memorable dining experiences ever. it loved up to its reputation, and i was thrilled that i got a table while my son was visiting from new york city. even he was impressed! service was fantastic, each staff member treating us like royalty, and that just added to an already phenomenal gastric delight! i've already booked for when my son returns to chicago for business again!
It was Great, The Goat Empanadas were Great, so was The Bubba Watson Drink I had
Amazing food and atmosphere! Awesome wait staff and Chef Griffin Baumeister is truly a rising star!
Service was impeccable, food was amazing. Definitely a place I will come to again next time I visit Chicago.
We had green beans, olive focaccia, beet salad, halibut, crab rangoon, pig face, goat shank, lemon pound cake, chocolate pavlova and vanilla malted ice cream with caramel popcorn. Every morsel was better than the one before. Every bite was exceptional. It is VERY loud and noisy but we adjusted and had a great night. The highlight of the entire evening was our waiter Chris. Personable, cute, funny, accommodating, enthusiastic, generous, helpful and just plain lovable. He should be cloned!!
Amazing food. We had one of the bread specials, the pig face, roasted cauliflower, halibut, and goat carpaccio. All of the dishes were great. We also had the cocktails--all delicious. The service is great and my water glass was always full. It is loud and crowded so it's not ideal for a first date or catching up.
Everything we ordered was fantastic and the staff was awesome. An absolute must in Chicago.
The service was amazing. The food was a fine symphony performance of taste, texture and smell. Truly a wonderful experience from the moment we stepped into the restaurant to the moment we left and we folding want to leave. Bravo, Chef Stephanie. We look forward to dining in the Los Angeles location.
Book early, go late (after 10pm), or eat at one of the other restaurants owned by this restaurant group, like Little Goat, Duck Duck Goat, or Publican. Or try avec down the street!
The vegetarian options were the best
The Girl & the Goat lived up to the hype. It was delicious. Our server recommended 4-6 plates for two and my friend and I ordered 8 because we just couldn't decide! Each item sounded better than the last. We ate everything and it was a great meal. I highly recommend it. My favorite was definitely the green garlic pierogies!
We went to Girl and the Goat for my best friends birthday and it was INCREDIBLE. we made the reservations pretty far in advance, but it was well worth the wait. The salmon, duck tongue, and goat empanadas were all to die for. Not to mention the service was impeccable as was the ambiance. Already booked my next reservation!
Great food and ambiance. Extremely impressed overall.
The food was exceptionally creative and delicious. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. My only negative critique is that It was a little too noisy and the seating was a bit tight.
Way too loud. A bit crowded. Otherwise one of the most fantastic dining places anywhere. Every dish was heaven. Special kudos to goat carpaccio and pig face.
This was a phenomenal dining experience. The grilled pork belly and lamb ribs were our favorites!! I would also recommend the malt balls with caramel corn dessert, SO AMAZING! Next time we are in Chicago this will definitely be our first stop. :)
One of the best meals we’ve had. Amazing food and low key, but attentive, service. Still thinking about the malted milk dessert! Worth all the calories.
Our waitress Devon was AMAZING. She gave us the best food Recs and also made our dining experience a memorable treat. I would tip her my salary if I could... but then I wouldn’t be able to here if I did
Wonderful chicago restaurant especially for foodies. Terrific service!
Food and service was amazing. The price was very good for the amount of food that we got. Fantastic experience
So good! Can't wait to come back and try more!
First time after years waiting....well worth it. We were welcomed by our server Elaine and she could not have been more attentive. Explained the menu, encouraged us to try her favorites and we had an awesome meal. The combinations of flavors on each dish was incredible, beautiful presentation . Everyone around us couldn’t stop talking about the food.
We can’t wait to come back to Chicago and try all the Stephanie Izard restaurants,
Wonderful creative food served at The Girl & the goat. The halibut was amazing, the chick pea fritters and the green beans very good. The lamb ribs slightly on the fatty side for us. Meringue dessert also superb. The waiter was great, explained the menu to us and was very friendly & efficient.
Great food but if you are planning on a date and talk. This is no the your place. The noise levels are INSANE
Amazing. We got to the restaurant an hour and a half early and they sat us right away! I was super impressed. The food was perfection, and was one of my best dining experiences ever. Service was great, tapas were perfectly timed, music was great! Overall, fantastic evening! Wish I lived in Chicago so I could go back tonight!
The food was great but it was uncomfortably cold and very loud.
We got a last minute reservation and were so thrilled as we had heard so many great things about Girl & the Goat. Wow, what a great experience! Great food, drinks, vibe! we enjoyed every bite and hope we can visit on our next trip to Chicago!
Food and service were great - would definitely return if in Chicago again
This place has everything you want. The menu is creative, the dishes are beautiful, and the flavor profiles are bold, unique, and delicious. I've been here twice in the last two months and tasted through more than a dozen dishes with friends. My overall impression is a resounding WOW. This place is an absolute gem.
De la mejor comida que he tenido. Ingredientes locales y una super mezcla de sabores!
Perfect dining experience! Celebrating Mother’s Day/ birthday - Ryan couldn’t have made it any more enjoyable. From the oysters, to pig face, to the amazing desserts...everything was delicious! When in doubt, trust your server. :)
It’s ceases to surprise how good the food is here.
