Girl & the Goat opened in 2010 with the goal of serving a family style menu of tasty, bold flavored foods in a fun and lively setting. To enhance the experience we offer a selection of wines from around the world with a focus on small producers, a rotating list of craft beers, and a list of fun cocktails created by our bartenders.

Located at 809 W Randolph, Girl & the Goat was one of the first establishments in the Randolph Restaurant Corridor. We offer a variety of seating choices, including a comfortable lounge, bar seats, standard table seating, and four seats close enough to the kitchen line that you might be asked to help. Girl & the Goat accepts reservations but always welcomes walk-ins, nomads, adventurers, and those of you who don’t like to plan.

Top notch as always.

Short ribs, halibut, broccoli, beef tongue, goat neck, Foccocia bread all tasty.

The small oysters and branzino not my favorites.

Will be back again and again. Thanks!

The food was amazing and really delicious. The noise level is rather high, but it was packed on the night we were there. Staff was friendly and service was good.

This was my first visit, and I can see why I had to make the reservation 1-month in advance on OpenTable. The food was absolutely outstanding, including the best dessert I've ever had in a restaurant (the Pavlova). Service good, but they are VERY busy. A bit "conversation challenged", but I have hearing problems. Probably OK for most people.

Overrated. The food felt busy for the sake of being busy. It was a hodgepodge of flavors that tended to overwhelm the palate - which is indicative of the restaurant as a whole.

Everything was absolutely amazing. It was very difficult to get a reservation at a decent time, but it was definitely worth the wait. Can’t wait to go back.

I made my reservation to Girl & the Goat months in advance and was really looking forward to dinner there. Unfortunately, only one of 6 dishes was truly great. Two dishes (calamari and pig face) we just couldn't eat. The calamari was chewy, plain and over-salted. The pig face was similar to scrambled eggs with ham. Our server was nice enough to take the dishes off our tab. It was just really a dissappointment. If you do go, get the short ribs - they are excellent.

The food was amazing!!! Not happy about my service though...

I work for Boka and I know that the group values its employees, and each restaurant makes it a point to give other employees from other restaurants in the group an awesome experience - and that’s always the case when I’ve visited other restaurants in the group...unfortunately not at Girl & the Goat. The hosts were friendly, but my server and server assistant weren’t so great.

First, our server greeted us as if she was in a rush and forgot to mention her name. We then order after a few minutes of looking over the menu and she takes our menus away, we get our food and we ask to see a menu again, she then informs us that the kitchen closed at 12, which she didn’t tell us at the start. She comes back to the table with menus & says “well do u know what u want because the kitchen is closing down” with an attitude. We ordered the short ribs...delicious. While we were eating, the table next to us asked to order the goat empanadas...their server took their order - no questions asked. Our server said the kitchen was closed. Aside from our server, the server assistant didn’t clear any of our plates until dessert, and there wasn’t much table space to begin with.

We really just felt like we were rushed through out our meal, and like our server had more important things to do..she wasn’t very attentive. Wish I had a better experience because it was one of the restaurants I was most excited to go to! Loved the food, but probably won’t be back. ):

We decided to go a little lighter this time leaning more towards the vegetable side (green beans, chickpea fritters and shishito peppers) one fish dish (halibut) and one meat (confit goat belly). Perfect amount of food, spice, fat and tons of flavor. I love that there are constants on the menu but also many rotating and seasonal dishes. The ingredients and flavors are well thought out and balanced. We'll be back to try some new things next time.

Considering the quality of the food and hype around Iron Chef Izard's signature restaurant, the pricing seems pretty reasonable. The food was very unique and surprisingly delicious, and it surpassed my already high expectations. The format is great because you share the dishes and get to try several, which also affords flexibility on how much you spend. The flavors were strong but perfectly balanced. It is refreshing to see such great dishes served in a casual manner and with no ego. The broccoli dish had rice crispies in it for example, and it was a very fitting textural element. Our favorite dish was easily the goat belly, which we will definitely order next time as we will certainly be back anytime we are in Chicago. Chef Izard's creative menu inspired me to cook with new flavors and is unlike anything I've ever seen. I cook all the time and eating here was a humbling and exciting experience. Plan ahead and get reservations as soon as you can because this place is very popular, and for good reason.

Friendly and attentive staff, creative menu, and excellent food. Very upbeat atmosphere. It was a little on the loud side and the tables are close together so don't expect a quiet, private dining experience! I made a special effort to come to Girl and Goat while in town for a conference and was happy I did so.

The server helped the two of us choose 5 items to share. It was the perfect amount to taste a bit of everything! The food came out whenever it was ready so it felt like a five course meal! Would definitely recommend to anyone. Go for the goat!

This was my second dining experience at Girl & The Goat. The food was as good as I remember, but unfortunately the service was not. Our waitress rushed us through our meal by insisting that we order all items up front. Our reservations were at 6:15pm and we were out of there in less than an hour. Needless to say, I was very disappointed.

We were celebrating our anniversary, and returning to this restaurant after four years, and the wait staff pulled out all the stops for us. It was going to be a special meal regardless, but they really helped put it over the top. And we knew the food was going to be superb, so we weren’t surprised there!

Come here for the delicious and creative food. You will try combinations of foods you haven't tried before and everything was delicious. Make a reservation early as it books up quickly. As evidenced by the amount of people standing in the bar who tried to walk in and get a table. my problem with our visit comes with the experience with the waitstaff. There is ample people working at the restaurant. At one point there were about 10 people actively working behind the bar. There were small groups of waitstaff spread throughout the restaurant, 5 people were always standing at the concierge desk. My problem was with such an abundance of waitstaff I felt chased out of our table. Waiters were constantly walking up to our table hands out to clear a plate and then quickly turn away when they realize it still had food on it. EVERYTIME we scooped the last big chunk off a plate someone's came within a minute and took the plate. Never asked it we were done. Usually the plates had something left tha I wanted to eat with the bread that I had bought.
I would recommend this restaurant because the food was delicious. I would say when the waitstaff push you out the door, don't take it personally.

Went to G and the G on a recent trip to Chicago. We had heard from friends about the unique menu, excellent food and service. They did not disappoint! One of the best restaurant meals we have ever had. The halibut was outstanding and who wouldn't order the wood oven roasted pig face??????? The goat carpaccio was excellent as well. Nice wine list, not outrageously priced. The Service was outstanding - perfect pacing. My only complaint would be the noise level if seated by the folks waiting at the bar. Overall excellent experience - will definitely return here.

We were in from out of state and very excited to be eating here. This was an amazing dining experience from start to finish. The ambiance was really interesting, service was friendly and attentive and the food was over the top. The 4 of us ordered 13 items and shared everything-the portions are perfect for that style of dining. Only one of those, the shrimp, failed to blow our minds- not bad! And duck tongues may just be everyone's new favorite!
