The most fun and flavorful food ever. Everything we picked was so good.
Greatest meal we ever had!! Now we know why waiting list is so long.
WORTH THE WAIT!!!
Our server at the bar was amazing !!
Loved this place! Our server was excellent and the food was incredible! Can't wait to go back
Likely the most amazing meal I have ever had. The food is indescribable. Absolutely delicious. I highly recommend to anyone interested and adventurous in eating!
100% worth going to. The menu, staff, and food are amazing. We had 9 different dishes and each was perfect. If you love creative and delicious food, this is your spot.
Overall the food was good ... but small plates and pricy. The service was ok and very hard to make reservations
It was incredible and we had a great experience. We sat at one of the chef’s table and my girlfriend and I loved it. Between watching the chef’s interact and prepare dishes and also see the rest of the restaurant it was awesome. We got goat (of course) and duck tongue which was outstanding as well. Save room for multiple courses, my girlfriend and I did 9 and it was perfect since the plates are shareable. Not a bad word to be said and I even asked the server for the cocktail proportions and she gave it to me so I can attempt to recreate it at home. Wonderful time and would recommend to anyone who loves a fun meal.
Unique and great tasting food!
The food was insane....definitely get the escargot ravioli and the goat liver mousse! It was an experience I will not forget!
Food was amazing, a little loud; but would go back again.
Truly an amazing dining experience! Art meets food & Chef Stephanie is a creative genius ! The Halibut & Goat Empanadas were our favs! Oh and don’t forget the green beans ! We will return again & again !
Top notch as always.
Short ribs, halibut, broccoli, beef tongue, goat neck, Foccocia bread all tasty.
The small oysters and branzino not my favorites.
Will be back again and again. Thanks!
The food was amazing and really delicious. The noise level is rather high, but it was packed on the night we were there. Staff was friendly and service was good.
I must admit I resisted going to Girl and The Goat (even thought I LOVE Duck Duck Goat). I am not the tongue/brain eating type, but I was pleasant surprised with the wide range of items on the menu.
We had the green beans, which were wonderful, also the broccoli which was great also (in my book the green beans were the best, but my co-diners felt the broccoli was, you be the judge).
We also had the halibut, whole branzino and the bucatini, all which were amazing! For dessert, we had the caramel corn & malt balls (OMG) and the lemon make you happy, probably the best dessert I have ever had. The caramel corn & malt balls is lick the plate clean good (I didn’t actually do that, though I wanted to).
Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. The space is open but not noisy, I didn’t feel crowded nor that I had to shout to be heard, even though they were packed.
Highly recommend Girl and The Goat
This was my first visit, and I can see why I had to make the reservation 1-month in advance on OpenTable. The food was absolutely outstanding, including the best dessert I've ever had in a restaurant (the Pavlova). Service good, but they are VERY busy. A bit "conversation challenged", but I have hearing problems. Probably OK for most people.
Overrated. The food felt busy for the sake of being busy. It was a hodgepodge of flavors that tended to overwhelm the palate - which is indicative of the restaurant as a whole.
Everything was absolutely amazing. It was very difficult to get a reservation at a decent time, but it was definitely worth the wait. Can’t wait to go back.
I made my reservation to Girl & the Goat months in advance and was really looking forward to dinner there. Unfortunately, only one of 6 dishes was truly great. Two dishes (calamari and pig face) we just couldn't eat. The calamari was chewy, plain and over-salted. The pig face was similar to scrambled eggs with ham. Our server was nice enough to take the dishes off our tab. It was just really a dissappointment. If you do go, get the short ribs - they are excellent.
The food was amazing!!! Not happy about my service though...
Food was fabulous. Only negative is the portion. Wish there were more of it to eat.
Great food, great crowd, great service.
This restaurant blows my mind every. Single. Time. The food and service is just truly outstanding. Favorite restaurant in chicago.
We decided to go a little lighter this time leaning more towards the vegetable side (green beans, chickpea fritters and shishito peppers) one fish dish (halibut) and one meat (confit goat belly). Perfect amount of food, spice, fat and tons of flavor. I love that there are constants on the menu but also many rotating and seasonal dishes. The ingredients and flavors are well thought out and balanced. We'll be back to try some new things next time.
LOVED our meal! the cauliflower and chickpea and crispy pork shoulder are AMAZING! staff was fantastic. If you can get a table, GO!
Amazing food and service, but go with time because you wait for tables and food
Amazing food! I waited so long to come here. Service was great
Amazing as always!
Large work related group while at a conference in Chicago.
Excellent in all aspects,
Go to place when in Chicago
Considering the quality of the food and hype around Iron Chef Izard's signature restaurant, the pricing seems pretty reasonable. The food was very unique and surprisingly delicious, and it surpassed my already high expectations. The format is great because you share the dishes and get to try several, which also affords flexibility on how much you spend. The flavors were strong but perfectly balanced. It is refreshing to see such great dishes served in a casual manner and with no ego. The broccoli dish had rice crispies in it for example, and it was a very fitting textural element. Our favorite dish was easily the goat belly, which we will definitely order next time as we will certainly be back anytime we are in Chicago. Chef Izard's creative menu inspired me to cook with new flavors and is unlike anything I've ever seen. I cook all the time and eating here was a humbling and exciting experience. Plan ahead and get reservations as soon as you can because this place is very popular, and for good reason.
I visited the place third time. Every single time the food was fantastic. This time was the same. The place and service are also awesome. This was a great experience. I truly recommend the Girl and the Goat to everyone who is looking for creative cuisine.
Friendly and attentive staff, creative menu, and excellent food. Very upbeat atmosphere. It was a little on the loud side and the tables are close together so don't expect a quiet, private dining experience! I made a special effort to come to Girl and Goat while in town for a conference and was happy I did so.
The server helped the two of us choose 5 items to share. It was the perfect amount to taste a bit of everything! The food came out whenever it was ready so it felt like a five course meal! Would definitely recommend to anyone. Go for the goat!
This was my second dining experience at Girl & The Goat. The food was as good as I remember, but unfortunately the service was not. Our waitress rushed us through our meal by insisting that we order all items up front. Our reservations were at 6:15pm and we were out of there in less than an hour. Needless to say, I was very disappointed.
We were celebrating our anniversary, and returning to this restaurant after four years, and the wait staff pulled out all the stops for us. It was going to be a special meal regardless, but they really helped put it over the top. And we knew the food was going to be superb, so we weren’t surprised there!
Come here for the delicious and creative food. You will try combinations of foods you haven't tried before and everything was delicious. Make a reservation early as it books up quickly. As evidenced by the amount of people standing in the bar who tried to walk in and get a table. my problem with our visit comes with the experience with the waitstaff. There is ample people working at the restaurant. At one point there were about 10 people actively working behind the bar. There were small groups of waitstaff spread throughout the restaurant, 5 people were always standing at the concierge desk. My problem was with such an abundance of waitstaff I felt chased out of our table. Waiters were constantly walking up to our table hands out to clear a plate and then quickly turn away when they realize it still had food on it. EVERYTIME we scooped the last big chunk off a plate someone's came within a minute and took the plate. Never asked it we were done. Usually the plates had something left tha I wanted to eat with the bread that I had bought.
I would recommend this restaurant because the food was delicious. I would say when the waitstaff push you out the door, don't take it personally.
So great! Brought out of town friends who loved it so much!
Delicious and innovative food. Excellent.
The halibut is tremendous. Best fish dish I’ve had anywhere and that’s saying something.
