Girl & the Goat
Located at 809 W Randolph, Girl & the Goat was one of the first establishments in the Randolph Restaurant Corridor. We offer a variety of seating choices, including a comfortable lounge, bar seats, standard table seating, and four seats close enough to the kitchen line that you might be asked to help. Girl & the Goat accepts reservations but always welcomes walk-ins, nomads, adventurers, and those of you who don’t like to plan.
Excellent food service and ambiance.
Beautiful food! The cocktails were impeccable. The flavors of each dish had the body and depth to be unique. Overall a great experience. Chicago dining is perfect
Server was extremely helpful in explaining the menu and making great choices based on our palate. Really appreciate the effort made on every dish from the vegetables to the entrees. Left extremely satisfied and would definitely come back.
Better than ever! And it’s always been excellent. Four of us ordered 8 small plates from all menu categories and reordered the pig face. The food and two bottles of wine kept us satisfied and we ended with dessert and coffee. Can’t say enough about how much we loved our meal! Stefanie Izard is a culinary goddess!!
The food and service was outstanding! We were thrilled that we could get a same day reservation and could not believe how busy the place was for a Wednesday night. My only dislike was the tables for two that are along the bar wall are very snug. There was a larger gentleman seated behind me and he inadvertently kept pushing his chair into the back of mine every time he moved. He did apologize, but truly it wasn't his fault. I realize each table represents $$ for the restaurant, but if one table could be removed it would allow for more "wiggle" room.
The food was excellent except for the pork pasta which was too salty. The service was good but the room got pretty loud as the restaurant filled up. The food is served family style in bowls and comes out when ready for example the wood roasted broccoli and beet salad came out well before the pork pasta and pigs face (interesting name but excellent dish).
My Husband and I decided to try Girl and the goat after hearing such rave reviews about them. We enjoyed the ambiance, music, and great service. Each dish we tried was beautifully displayed and delicious. We had the sweet potato bread which was soft and warm with a chive cream cheese and pickled relish that was to die for if you’re a bread lover like I am. Then we had the roasted cauliflower and kohlrabi salad which both were delicious. Lastly we had the beef short rib and oven roasted pig face. The ribs had a citrus spin on them which was very pleasant and the pork with the sunny side egg on it made the dish hearty and savory. My husband also had a Long Island ice tea which was good. We only had one complaint, for what you pay, the portion sizes are too small.
We were able to sit at the chefs table and the experience was amazing. We were able to see a lot of the menu items made right before our eyes. They answered any questions we had and it was exceptional. Will definitely done again.
Layers of flavors, unusual combinations, small plates to share. Every one was a delight to try.
Service was good but portions are very small. Was expecting the food to be much better.
birthday was a success!
Food, ambiance and service at Girl & the Goat were excellent.
Amazing service and excellent food! We left feeling very happy.
Every time I go here their food blows me away along with their service. I have Celiac disease and the waiters are always very accommodating. This is by far my favorite restaurant in Chicago.
The food was absolutely delicious and service was impeccable for a great price pint! Owen was our outstanding server. He was very attentive, super thorough when reviewing the menu and more than helpful when it came to recommendations for vegetarian options. We enjoyed the pan fried shishito peppers, kohlrabi salad, roasted beets (no anchovy), chickpea chaat and mr. sweet potato bread. Every bite was bursting with flavor. My boyfriend also enjoyed the special of goat ribs and was very impressed. We will definitely go back many more times!
Our 3 year old crashed my birthday dinner and the restaurant was great with him and very accommodating. The food is always amazing, my favorites were the periogi and pork shank.
Fantastic venue, awesome food and amazing staff combined for an incredible culinary experience!!
Always excellent. My favorite restaurant. Can't wait until our next visit.
Great food as always! Love the veggies more than anything! It’s a favorite of ours year in and year out. While I love the slightly deeper tables to share dishes, it’s tough to converse when picked in next to other tables.
We had a great time, the food was superb
I just wish getting a table would be a bit easier. Cause of the time we got we came with our kids, luckily they each found food they liked and requested to return. Ha.
My husband and I got a gift card to Girl & The Goat and had the most delightful date! Our server was fun and helped us choose delicious cocktails and an amazing dinner. We loved everything, but DO NOT MISS THE GREEN BEANS. We are both still fantasizing about them. Shrimp was delicious. The salmon poke was divine! We can’t wait to go back.
Great food and fantastic service. Our server was cognisant of any dietary limitations and made sure we knew what to avoid.
Delicious food as always!
The service was great and the food was excellent. I would recommend to everyone.
WOW! GO if you have not been there! This was our first time at Girl and the Goat and we will be back. We already booked it - 3 months out since that was the first we could get. The food is outrageously wonderful, flavorful and unique. Five courses was one more than we needed. Service was enthusiastic, attentive, and knowledgeable. We very much appreciated that. We were not hurried although the restaurant was very busy, and there were no gaps in service either. The noise level was close to deafening - welcome to Chicago - but we plan to tolerate it so that we can dine here several times a year.
Loved everything we tried.
Good menu delicious food
Phenomenal food, wonderful wait staff and an overall upbeat feel to the restaurant allowed us to leaves feeling highly satisfied
We went to celebrate our anniversary and were greeted with "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY" and treated with a nice dessert.
Everything was delicious and they made the night special
Delicious food! However be aware of very small plates, some of them are difficult to share with 3 people so you might consider ordering two if it’s something everybody wants to try. Surprisingly amazing green beans. I loved the pig face as well.
The food was very good! It’s served in smaller portions meant to share. Recommended dishes is between 4-6 for a couple. Everything we had was phenomenal! It was on the pricier side though, so be prepared. I would definitely go back.
Excellent food and great service!
My first time here finally and I was wowed. My expectation was pretty high since this restaurant made into best 100 of the country. We had 5 shareable plates and every single one was amazing and to die for. Wine selection was pretty good too. Overall it stood for its fame.
Food and service all exceptional. from the greeter to our server Ryan everyone was fantastic. It was a birthday celebration and so happy for the delightful experiences. Will be returning soon!
there wasn’t a single thing we did not love! from drinks to foods to the people we sat near
The food speaks for itself! Our waiter was great as well.
The pepper dish was a true adventure in taste-each one was subtly different but amazing. Lively atmosphere and a Chicago meal to remember. Good thing we made reservations weeks ago.
Had a wonderful meal! Ordered way too much food. We absolutely loved everything we had. Excellent service!
Food was overall on the salty side and everything tasted the same. This was our second time to the restaurant and we didn't have as good of an experience.
2 families in town for New Years. We sat at the big tables near the kitchen. We had a wonderful dining experience.
