What a great little restaurant in Studio City by Woodbridge Park. An odd location for sure, this is a West Hollywood or Beverly Hills level restaurant with excellent decor and a great menu. The food was outstanding, the waitstaff attentive without being annoying, and one of the better decorated restaurant interiors I've seen. Parking was difficult: no valet the night we were there and the streets are all permit parking only.

Crispy Snapper!!!!!! Crispy Kale!!!!!! Amazing!!!!! Then, there is the bartender, Alex. She rocks! This restaurant is truly a gem. We also had the octopus salad, very tender, and some meat balls that were perfect.

We have been going to Girasol a lot in the last 2 years and first time we are disappointed ...new chef. The appetizers were very disappointing and the entrees were average even if the menu did not change that much.
Overpriced, not the service we have been used to either! Should we really go back?

I have dined at Girasol several times now and I am always very pleased with my experience. We brought a friend her for a birthday dinner over the weekend and I was very impressed with the presentation, service and food. All our dishes were so beautiful and colorful. Everything tasted great too. The restaurant has a chill vibe so a great place to have a conversation. Girasol is truly a nieghborhood gem!

The snapper was woefully overcooked. The service was anemic. The citrus dessert was not pleasing. Overall, a good deal of money was spent for just an "okay" experience. And this was with the restaurant not even close to being full because of rainy weather. I would not recommend the food or the dining experience. This is my second time at this restaurant. Wouldn't want to give it a third shot.

I booked this restaurant for our end of project dinner for our Production and Accounting departments. Food was wonderful and service exceptional. They also put us in the patio, which felt like a private room.

This was my first visit, and I was very happy with the experience. The menu is just the right size, and offers something for everyone. The food was exceptional. I appreciated the fact that there's space between the tables. It was a great venue for a date. I will be returning to try out other offerings.

The food is very creative and seasonal. My wife and I shared everything. We had a fried artichokes on a bed of greens, smashed potatoes, cooked greens, and the fish of the day (which was some kind of cod, but definitely not black cod). We shared freshly made donuts for desert. The portion size is perfectly adequate to share, we even brought home some greens and potatoes.

The wine list is weighted to expensive imported wines, but the wines by the glass are actually very nice California wines and are somewhat more reasonably priced. We had a couple glasses of chardonnay, and a glass of Pinot Noirs and a glass of cabernet. All the wines were quite good for wines served by the glass.

Restaurant was short staffed because a server had called in sick. About 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. As we were about to leave, 1 server took responsibility for the table and was awesome. Wagyu (overpriced at $51) and smashed potatoes were nothing special. Rest of the meal was good. Whole fish and meat balls were excellent. Very few good restaurants in the Valley. This restaurant is better than most.

The dinner was exceptional and we loved the citrus burrata and the vermillion cod. The service was very good and the wine selections complimented the meal.
It can get noisy inside but was not overwhelming on a Weds night

The chef at Girasol really goes out of his way to source local ingredients. The food is beautiful, delicious and has integrity. The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL. The staff is warm but professional. The cocktails are lovingly crafted. It's just a great place!
I gave the place a "moderate" rating on the noise level, but it's definitely a place where you can hear yourself and your friends speak--Thank you for that, Girasol!

We were on the patio and had terrible service. The waiter would come to our table and did not pick up the pile of dirty dishes that was right there. We had to ask the host for help with service and refills on drinks. The host was wonderful. We gave her a tip at the end. Nothing was taken off of our bill even though we basically had to keep going inside to ask for things. Great food but I will never go back. Not worth the price of the bill.

Girasol does not disappoint. I've been eating there since they've opened. The menu has lots of options, many of them very inventive. The decor is soothing but also creative. Great cocktails and excellent service. It's a touch on the pricey side, but my favorite thing to do there is graze and share from the menu.

Recipe for a 5 Star Sat.night. Start with a skinny margarita, followed by roasted beets. Lamb chops and a crispy red snapper with crispy kale. Wow!!!!! Go!!! Enjoy!!!!

My wife and I have visited Girasol several times before. We’ve always had a good experience. We’ve had difficulty choosing what we want to eat with there being so many interesting options. But last night we were extremely disappointed.

The menu changes seasonally. The current menu seams uninspired. The food was mediocre - and a lot less of it than on previous visits. The burratta suffered from exchanging the peaches for citrus. And the entire serving was a couple of tablespoons.

Add to that really poor service. We were sitting alone in the dining room, having finished our meal. The hostess saw us waiting, but made no effort to contact the waiter.

To sum it up, the restaurant gives the impression with the menu, quality of food and poor service of an organization that has given up. I understand CJ is spending most of his time in Chicago with a new restaurant and visits Girasol twice a month. I wonder if he realizes how it has declined.

We won’t be returning.

What a treat - the chef created delicious, beautiful and inspired dishes that were as enjoyable to behold with the eyes as they were to eat. The flavor combinations and textures were brilliant and the preparation and presentation were second to none.
