Katsu Chicken Curry
A Japanese favourite - breaded chicken in a creamy katsu sauce, served on a bed of jasmine rice
Two delicious scoops of ice cream. Choose from chocolate, or vanilla or both!
Prime 8oz Rump Steak*
Served how you like it, with skin-on fries and a dressed green leaf salad. Add garlic sauce
The service was fine very helpful, but the gluten free options were exceptionally limited and the quality of the burger I ended up having was really bad. Overall really disappointing.
Very busy, quick service, not the place if you want quiet but suited us.
Food was delicious and reasonable. Would recommend
Food was decent enough for a lunch but the service was really slow. Took ages to take order for drinks, food came out at bizarre times. Restaurant was so loud. However, staff were friendly to my child which was nice. Really slow service meant we couldn't actually stay for dessert which was a shame - we had tickets for an event and had to leave even though we had allocated 90 minutes for lunch which felt like plenty...We had booked for 2pm outside but they were not prepared for us at all. To top it off, service was included. I wouldn't have paid it...
Even though they were really busy, the staff were polite and patient. Our server Julita was so lovely and really made our meal. Will definitely be coming back
Great food helpful staff. Bit loud for day time and also would have been nice if there was children cutlery and plates.
Perfect for kids, great food, fantastic price! Staff were very friendly too!
Went for a quick breakfast and it was very fast service. Vegetarian breakfast came out in about 5 mins but the food was cold and not very nice. Hash brown burnt, toast untoasted (bread), avocado fridge cold, tomato uncooked. Didnt have time to send this back and it was edible but not particularly nice. Understand it was probably already cooked and just pulled together very quickly but not what i would usually expect from Giraffe.
Would recommend! We really had a good time, great cocktails and food.
The starters are really nice, however, The main meals are horrible. I got a cheeseburger and a bun with so much bigger than the party, my chips was stale and cold. The service isn’t that great either, you’ll be waiting for ages
Kids menu burgers were tough seemed to have been microwaved same for adult chicken burger. Fish finger sandwich soggy. Most of the meal was uneaten. Have been to other giraffe restaurant and this was a disappointment.
Service was very slow and orders were not as ordered
Generally ok but the food was cold and a bit blant.
We waited to be seated for about a good 5-10 minutes. There were other waiters that saw us but didn't do anything and just ignored the fact we were waiting for a while. There was a queue that built up behind us.
The food tasted very average and we were a bit disappointed with how it turned out.
Normally love Giraffe but unfortunately this time was not the same… it took 10 minutes after we sat down for anyone to come to take our order (even just for drinks), then the starters and mains arrived at the same time (we didn’t ask for this and they seemed surprised we didn’t want all our food at once), our drinks eventually arrived during the starters and the cocktails were really sharp and not up to the usual standard. Then they brought our mains out which were presumably the same ones we had sent back that arrived too soon as mine was stone cold so I sent it back. The replacement one was delicious though. Then when we wanted to leave it took ages to find someone to get the bill from by which point we were just tired and frustrated. A real let down.
Great location, lot of outdoor space however food was mediocre (chips hard and cold) and service was very slow.
The food was
The brunch with bottomless prosecco was indeed bottomless, we got our refills quickly despite there being many guests.
I had the English/Scottish breakfast, liked it.
It was nice to be able to have this brunch with a friend and at a nice location, outside in the summer (had a shade above us luckily).
Lack of uniform makes it nearly impossible to tell who's a server and who's a customer, I felt uncomfortable asking for something in case I ask a fellow customer whom I mistake as a server.
Food was served quick, way too quick. Compare the quality to the previous time I dined at this venue it was less than average. Salad was clearly pre made this time, barely anything else but the middle of two lettuces still left in one peace not even leafed. My chips was forgotten then served cold.
Not impressed, as after the last visit I was looking forward to eat there.
Everything was disappointing unfortunately.
Great value, location, food drinks and service.
Only gripe is lack of sunshades outside on a very hot day. There used to be parasols on the tables. Now you have to choose between sunburn or sitting inside. I made the wrong choice and now have a very red face.
We went for brunch. One of my eggs (eggs benedict) was as hard as a squash ball but the rest was OK. Our drinks arrived after our food too.
The cocktails were great! but the food was not good...
Person on welcome desk was not particularly welcoming
Amazing food and service!! Will be back for sure.
Had to wait 10 minutes for a table even though we booked in advance as they were taking too many walk ins. Service is quick and prices very reasonable. Especially enjoyed the £5 cocktails
Food very average.
Olivia was our waitress and she was excellent!! Great service and we love the inexpensive cocktails!
Really nice evening, outside seating, great food and service
Food was fine, menu altered since last visit and seems to have gone a bit cheap on the kids food, I'd rather have paid a bit more TBH and had a bit better quality (Pizza wasn't great and pasta was a bit basic) no salad side with chips (which obviously children will choose) or starter adult food was fine but menu wasn't as good as last visit. We were regulars of giraffe until before pandemic. I was charged twice by mistake as card machine not working but I'm sure this will be resolved.
The food was excellent and the serving staff were friendly.
The ambiance in the restaurant was great and the selection was great.
We were there with meat eaters and vegans and there was plenty selection.
Food was bland and overcooked. Service was ok. We did the bottomless Prosecco brunch, but the waiters weren’t particularly quick in topping us up. Used to love the Giraffe, but it has clearly gone downhill in recent years.
Best thing going for it is it’s perfect location on the South Bank
Lunch with friends for the first time in ages. The Southbank location was convenient for all 4 of us.
The menu was varied although the main course that two of us wanted was not available. The food was very tasty, 1 of us had the interesting Swinging Chicken Kebab, which is literally on a pole swinging over the plate. Our waiter was lovely, really helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
NB there is building works going on when we were there, right next to the restaurant so you need to bear with that if you chose to sit outside. The inside is spacious and looks nice if the weather isn’t great.
Good service, very disappointing menu options for dairy/soya free - nothing on entire brunch menu was available to me
Would mainly recommend Giraffe for drinks and starters rather than anything else.
Went with three friends on a Tuesday evening; ordered drinks and a starter and main meal each. Calamari and nachos were great, my friend only received two onion rings - very overpriced, whilst their chicken burgers were dry and fries were unseasoned (apart from salt) and heavily undercooked. The Korean BBQ Chicken was good. The ambience was nice as we were by the Thames and it was sunny, however, it was hard to get the servers attention to order more drinks (although it was quite busy which makes sense) so we decided to relocate elsewhere.
We had 2 baby’s with us and got a real good child friendly service
Had a fantastic afternoon here with my family on Sunday. Sat outdoors and had a blast; staff were all amazing and extremely attentive. We had the bottomless brunch and we didn’t need to ask for a top up once, they just constantly kept coming to us with more glasses! Would definitely come back.
The staff were very friendly, and helped me discreetly surprise my friend with a birthday cake. Food was great and good selection. Would recommend!
Spent a lovely brunch with a friend, the food and the service were great.
Good for a quick meal, was quiet at breakfast time
We’re we’re seated early after we changed out times and they were happy to accommodate it, all the staff were healthy and making sure are drinks were good and food was good. Overall the whole evening was really good- they did have to close early due to staffing but no body complained and everyone was happy to drink up and depart,
Definitely book again while in London
Table was not ready on arrival although we had booked a table,
I asked if we could sit inside and have a drink whilst waiting for a table outside, this was too confusing and had to wait outside for 20 mins for our table,
The passionfruit martini is horrible. I would not advise this, however the rum punch is nice and the food, waitress at the table was attentive, but did not check back during service,
Would not return due to poor manner of staff and drinks
