My wife and I are frequent customers at Midtown and West. Great Italian food, great service, wide range of food options, and then there are always enticing nightly specials or just ask the staff to create something special that isn’t on the menu. Extensive wine selection just adds to the occasion. One of our favorite places for fine dining in Nashville.

Great Italian place! If you go, get the Veal Chop. Come back and thank me later! It was amazing! One of the best I've had! The wait staff were very attentive and courteous. We will definitely go back soon!!!

Fresh Burrata was best we've had since Rome. Great wine list. A little pricey overall but a great splurge

The pros: quiet, great wine selection, friendly staff.

Cons: The main dishes were priced with what you expect but most dishes would have a price add on for meat. Then add an almost $6 sparkling water and $12 desserts.

The issue was the quality of the food did not reflect the price. I can get same to better quality Italian for almost half the price. The food was just average, we had no complaints but it was just average.

I have personally never experienced buyers remorse from dinner. I will gladly pay for quality, and do on many occasions, but this was not it.

In short, I will rate the food as average, and the price extremely high for average.

If your looking for great Italian or Italian that does not drain your wallet look else where.

Always great italian food and excellent service. We love the veal picatta and linguine marinara. The chocolate cake is awesome!

Great service. Party of 9. Food was good. Only a few minor mistakes with orders. Not bad for a large party.

I have had five great dinners at Giovanni’s. I decided to take my parents for a very nice dinner for my moms birthday and Father’s Day . They are in their 80,s. I thought they would really like a nice Italian dinner. We are Italian. I was disappointed and I know my parents were trying to make me feel better. I am wondering if you have changed chefs in the last couple of months and had a change of wait staff. Overall it was not good and I will not come back Sorry all.

Anthony DeMatteo.

This was our first visit to Giovanni's (thank you so much for canceling my reservation Le Sel; it was our anniversary and wanted to go somewhere really special). Everything was perfect. Our server knew just the right amount of attention our table needed. He was never intrusive. The menu and specials were thoughtfully created. Many of the dishes were creative but not in an over the top way. There was not anything offered that was not very appealing. You didn't look at a anything on the menu with that old thought "that's interesting but there's no way I would order that". Honestly I can't say why we have waited so long to try Giovanni's but I think we'll be back soon. It's one of the best fine restaurants in Nashville. The tab? One appetizer, two nice entrees, two desserts, coffee and two Proseccos = $140. Worth it!

Waiter was snooty. Never even advised of specials. Helper much more friendly. Too bad he wasn’t the main waiter. Ordered veal chop medium. Came out well. For that high price should have been as ordered. Once is enough. Very nice thing happened as well. Called advertised pick up and was told there were no tables available. The minute later was able to make a reservation for the time desired on OpenTable. Not a good way to do business

Great spot for weekly business meetings or weekend special occasions. A bit pricey for the portion sizes but good quality. I sat in a spot directly in the path of HVAC vent that became annoying over dinner due to the cold air. But if I could have sat in a different spot I think it’s a nice venue.

Wonderful atmosphere. Elegant, quiet, with attentive wait staff -- it feels very special. The food was excellent. My only concern is with the very high prices on the wine list. They are quite marked up, with no bottles under $60. More variety in price and less mark up would have made this a 5 star review.

The food was just okay. The problem was the maître d. He was a complete jerk. He wasn't going to seat our daughter and her friend because we were we not there yet. When we got there and were seated he was very unpleasant ,to the point of being rude. The waiter was great but the maître d kept coming over and pulling him aside and giving him a hard time.
For some reason the maître d decided to take our order even though the good waiter had already started doing so. Again, very rude.
I watched him later go over and chew out an older waiter for simply handing the 4 patrons menus, even though the maître d had left them sitting without menus for quite some time.
The food was just okay. Not anything special that we couldn't have gotten at a chain Italian restaurant. We will not be going back!

We were in Nashville for the Rock and Roll marathon with friends and our college aged daughters. We were looking for a good Italian restaurant as the girls wanted pasta before the race. Giovanni's is a beautiful restaurant with excellent service. It was casually elegant so it perfect to relax and talk or take a date. The food was delicious! I had the veal scallopini and it was excellent. The wine list was extensive and the desserts were amazing. Definitely check it out, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Very expensive for little food. I had a salad and one glass of wine rest of the family had salads no drinks. Bill was $250 and 5 minutes after paying bill manager came over and told us we had to leave, he needed our table.
Food was nothing impressive could of gotten the same at any chain restaurant with much more of a portion for much less money.
Will never return service poor, portions minimal and very very expensive. We have eaten at the best Italian restaurants all over the US and this is at the bottom of the list.
