Pasta station plus chicken and steak main course
Pasta station (Includes 2 pastas and 1 risotto)
It appeared they were understaffed. After 10 minutes we had to finally ask for waiter and menu. Request for Parmesan cheese went unanswered. Service was lacking but food was very good.
Great food! Great ambiance! Great staff!
This was a wonderful experience for our family!! It is our new favorite restaurant!
We were entertaining relatives from out of town. They were all impressed with the service and food. Of particular note was octopus.
Gather wine selection was very good and all palates were satisfied.
We’ll be back again.
Service was great, ambience was nice as well. However, the food is overpriced for what it is. It is good, but not spectacular.
The food was wonderful! Early dinner to discuss details for our Daughter’s wedding with the DJ! Enjoyed having the whole restaurant to ourselves and a dedicated waiter that was spot on with the service. Ambiance with background music, but not too loud that you can’t enjoy your conversation at the table! We will definitely be going back!
Direi cibo di ottimo livello, ma sicuramente caro
Excellent food and atmosphere. All around great place
Has a great time.
Knowing this was a date the staff set the table so as the two of us were side to side not looking across. I thought that was a nice touch. Also, the bartender was excellent
Had Easter lunch here, food and seevice are excellent! Would definitely visit again next time we stop by Nashville.
May need more spacing between tables and/or cleaning measures during COVID time, but at least staffs are wearing mask.
Authentic Italian restaurant with nice selection of entrees. I had pasta and my wife had salmon. Both were delicious. The service was so-so. Had to ask for oil for the bread, parmesan for the pasta, and drink refills. Would have expected better service at given the prices. Ambience was nice, once the waiter at the bar finished their conversation on speaker phone.
Great Ambiance! Great food! The waiter and staff new good wines to suggest! Also have gluten free pasta
Fantastic experience as always. Chris is always incredible as a host...we love our experience every time we go to Gio's.
Service was average. Our individual server was very pleasant and attentive but the manager was preoccupied with a few patrons in the bar while the floor staff needed his help.
The ambiance and service were on par with what you would expect from a fancy Italian restaurant located in the Midtown area, but my meal was one of the most disappointing that I have ever had from such an upscale venue. I went specifically for the Risotto and it pretty much tasted like it came out of a box. The rice was neither tender nor creamy, and the flavor was rather bland. I pretty much ate the grilled chicken and mushrooms out of it and left the rice. Shockingly the server never asked if there was a problem with it considering I left practically the entire plate of rice. Cannot see myself risking another visit at that price for such a disappointing meal.
Still by far the best authentic Italian restaurant in greater Nashville!
Food was excellent as always, we love coming to Giovanni's when visiting Nashville as our son goes to college here. Had something to celebrate so went here, food was delicious especially the lobster ravioli special.
Food quality was poor and when talking to management about it he put down his own staff.
One of my favorite restaurants in Nashville. The absolute best authentic Italian food you will ever enjoy, along with an excellent wine list. The atmosphere is set in a house that is warm and inviting. Perfect for a date with someone special or an outing with friends and/or family. Impeccable service as always.
Thank you Giovanni!
Great dinner...food was really good! Our waiter was attentive, but a bit slow. Very enjoyable evening
Giovanni Ristorante is, in my opinion, by FAR the best Italian Restaurant in Nashville. Great ownership, management and chef. Great food. Lovely place.
Most highly recommended.
Truly excellent. Everything was fine to perfection. The space is beautiful and special and the service expert.
Servers more worried about complaining about each other and some of the customers than they were worried about serving. Food decent but one dish like a salt lick....
Amazing food. Great for gluten free options!
It was a wonderful second visit to Giovanni’s! The fresh pasta truly cannot be beat. Our table ordered 2 of the specials, a burrata and the mahi, and we were pleased with both. We had to grab the attention of servers a couple times during our meal, but once we had it, our needs were quickly met. I look forward to future visits anytime I’m in town!
This was our first visit and everything was wonderful. We plan on regular visits and bringing our family and friends who haven't been yet. The calamari was perfect. We had the gnocchi and pappardelle main courses. Absolutely delicious! The staff was great and the wine/drink selection was outstanding. Highly recommended!
I love the ambience of this mid town Italian treasure. The Lamb Chops are to die for. The grilled octopus will change your mind about this dish. Lasagna is excellent and Pappardelle a house specialty. Supplement your dining experience with the Carpaccio ala Harry's Bar and Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe for the table to share!
Wine is pricey and a $30 corking fee is charged per bottle if you bring your own.
Absolutely incredible dinner and service. Had a great birthday dinner.
Always a favorite when we are in Nashville!
Great staff and service to compliment amazing food!
Giovanni's is a rare restaurant in Nashville, it is not afraid to be what it is. It is a elegant oasis, serving wonderfully prepared Northern Italian Cuisine, in a sophisticated atmosphere with impeccable service. I patronized Giovanni's when he was in New York , before the both of us had sense to move to Nashville 20 years ago. Bring your taste buds, dress appropriately and be prepared to order something you might not try as a rule, you won't be disappointed.
We arrived and the place was empty, yet we got sat next to the kitchen. Kitchen has a window, which is fine, but if you’re going to have a window and portray fine dining, the kitchen better be impeccable. We saw busboys in t-shirts cutting prosciutto, so not great at this price point. The wine was unbelievable though. I’d go there 3 days a week just for that 2019 Chianti.
Appetizer was good, as was the dessert. The main course though was forgettable. My wife’s lasagna was lava. I understand how ovens work, but people want to eat when food comes out. Just wish it would have been served in a different dish from which it was baked to help facilitate cooling, as well as presentation. It looked akin to a lasagna at any other restaurant, which is disappointing.
Originally, wasnt ready for the special menu as it wasnt mentioned when booking, like many of the other restaurants mentioned, but the pricing was well worth it. The atmosphere set the mood, the staff was very courteous and helpful and they made our special occasion delightful. Inspite of the weather being what it was, it was a very nice dining experience.
I have never been ripped off more than at this place. They charged $100 per person for a fixed menu that entailed an appetizer of an insanely small portion, a main course of also a very small portion, and a dessert that was likely bought at a local shop for less than $5. This was inexcusable. They took advantage of Valentine’s Day as an opportunity to raise prices by 300% and offer 1/3 of the food. This place sucks.
