Nice Italian restaurant as part of the Macdonald Aviemore Resort. Furnished in an Italian kitchen style with plenty of space between the tables so not too noisy. Good ventilation. Service was very professional and food was generally well prepared. I had a very good pizza and my wife had a very pleasant prawn linguine. However, both the menu and wine list were somewhat limited and didn't feel as authentically Italian as we expected. The only main courses were pizza and pasta - none of the lovely chicken or fish dishes with sauces and vegetables that often feature on Italian menus. One of the options was spaghetti bolognese - I understand authentic Italian chef would never serve a bolognese sauce with spaghetti. And my wife was offered parmesan cheese with her prawn linguine - fortunately it was presented separately but any attempt to offer cheese with fish is surely a clear "no" in Italian cooking. The wine list was also very limited with only two Italian reds, neither of which was available by the glass! However, on the plus side, the menu said that a 12.5% service charge would be added which seems quite steep, but when we asked for the bill there was no service charge so the total price was more reasonable than I was expecting. I asked if I could add a tip on my card, but was advised that they can only accept cash tips. But I do wonder if staff were missing out now that tips and service charges must be shared with staff.

Enjoyed our food but found the chairs extremely uncomfortable. The noise of screaming children were quite off putting.

Second time we went this week. First time was excellent. This time not quite to the same standard. There were five of us and we were given a table designed for four. Three meals arrived several minutes before the other two meals. Food was nice but seemed like it wasn't as fresh as previous time. Took a while to get the bill. We had a nice meal just not as good as previous visit.

The service was slow and intermittent over the meal. Staff seemed uncoordinated and not attentive at all. The adult meals were poor in flavour and content. The carbonara was dry and lacked flavour and the Caesar salad was likely the worst I’ve had. Chunks of bacon/ham. Chunks of chicken. Dressing was mediocre. I sent it back.

We had a nice meal, Restaurant friendly & nicely decorated. There was a little noise from children, would suggest they are kept in one area, not distributed throughout the resturaant? ut overall good!

We had a lovely family meal when staying in the hotel. Good service, really enjoyed the food. Cracking dough balls and the pizzas were delicious. Highly recommend when in the area or staying in the hotel

Very good food, menu limited to pizza and pasta but we didn't mind. Pizza was very tasty and staff friendly. It's a busy hotel restaurant so there's not much atmosphere but it's great for what it is
