I have absolutely no complaints. We dined at Giovanni's to celebrate an out of town guest's birthday, they all enjoyed the experience and said they would come back. Everyone cleaned their plates, rare for this group.

The service was not the servers fault. She apologized for the delay several times before we received the cocktails. We waited 20-25 minutes for the two simple cocktails our table ordered. When the cost of the meal is so high, the drinks should be served without undue delay. Unfortunately, that delay colored the and diminished the entire experience, one for which we had high hopes. I would remain neutral on any recommendation.

Never having been there before but recently heard good things so we tried it. I guess that if you are a regular you get better treatment but the wait staff seemed inexperienced. Not rushing to go back.

The food is always excellent. I especially like the salmon. The hostess sat the three of us in a corner in the back room where it is quiet because I have problems in restaurants with loud noise. Giovanni's is one of the more quiet of the area restaurants. Giovanni's is my "go to" restaurant" for special lunches with special friends!!

Saturday before Mother's Day - the dining rooms were jamming - the kitchen was remarkably fast given the number of covers the restaurant was processing this night - the oysters on the half shell were fresh, flown in from France that morning - Champagne was perfectly chilled - the pasta with house made sausage and red chiles didn't disappoint - similarly with the house smoked salmon and salmon tartare - highly recommended for dates, special occasion or date night with your spouse or partner - highly recommended

Great meal at one of the tables in the bar. Filet was perfectly prepared. Shrimp/gnocchi dish was delicious. A guest's lobster salad is highly recommended. Extensive wine list. Service was good, but server was new to the restaurant, and not quite familiar with the menu yet.

We love to dine at Giovanni's because they have great food and great service! We prefer to sit in the bar area because it has more vibe and is less formal than the dining area. This is a well run operation because the owner is always there to greet everyone who walks in the door!

Our dining experience at the restaurant was outstanding. It was the best meal overall that we have had in a long time. We ordered "Ham and Eggs" as a shared appetizer. It consisted of deviled eggs and prosciutto with two large potato chips. Probably the best deviled eggs we have tasted. My wife ordered salmon and I ordered veal cannelloni. Both meals were outstanding. The portion of salmon was large and cooked medium as ordered. The sides of potatoes and asparagus were also very good. The cannelloni was perfect. It was served piping hot in a stainless dish covered in tomato sauce and cheese. Service was great.

Outstanding service , phenomenal food prepared table side piping hot. The seafood linguine was second to none with large pieces of lobster, scallops, mussels and clams. In a light sauce with hints of chili peppers. The veal chop is clearly the best in the city, grilled medium to perfection. Pierre and crew prepare a flawless evening and Michael, our waiter was perfect . Once again, Giovanni’s delivered, clearly a Cleveland gem.

First time, and 10/10 thrilled with our experience. Taylor was our waiter, and he did a phenomenal job, seriously. Always on-top of everything, extremely polite, accommodating, etc. Food was spectacular, my drink was made right, can’t say enough good things about this place. Will be coming back for sure!

From the burrata appetizer to the double espresso after the meal, everything was top notch. I had the Delmonico steak and it was as good a steak I’ve ever had. My wife and our dining partners all raved about their pasta dishes. Yes, it’s not inexpensive but for special occasions, they make you feel special. Parking if free and convenient. The bar is where all the excitement is.

The Ossobuco special was terrible tonight and ruined my dinner. The waiter was embarrassed but $250 later I couldn’t do anything. I have always loved Giovanni’s but tonight for our 30th anniversary dinner was very very disappointing.

We just loved the room we were in, ambiance was lovely with the fireplace. The food was very good and our waiter Michael was great. I honestly can’t say iit was a good value since our meals were all $50 or more, However, we knew that coming I and we were celebrating 3 birthdays. It was kind of disappointing that our birthdays weren’t acknowledged in any way since I did mention we were celebrating a 94, 70 and 68th birthday on open tables, it’s like why ask if it’s not acknowledged? In any case it was a very enjoyable evening and will come again on another special occasion!

Out of towners stopping for testing at Cleveland Clinic. Wanted a special treat and this was a great dinner. Spouse and I had two different appetizers and mains. All 4 plates were delicious. Great chard made the meal memorable. If we have to come back to Cleveland we’ll be happy to come back. Expensive but worth it!

It’s not a place to dine for a mixed couple. It’s sad. It’s been my favorite from childhood. However, my fiancé was not addressed by our waiter. Our food was sub-par for the price. To top it off our waiter almost put the table crumbs in the stack of plates he placed on top of my food I wanted to take home. Unreal. The luster is gone!
