Fabio Viviani Hospitality is pleased to bring South Barrington Giostra – an old-school Italian restaurant featuring the simple, classic dishes Fabio grew up on. With recipes passed down from his mother and grandmother.

Step inside our doors and experience the welcoming atmosphere of Old Florence. Enjoy a glass of wine from our extensive wine list, many procured through Fabio’s lifelong connections. Have some pasta. Eat!

For Giostra is not just close to Fabio’s home here in South Barrington. It’s close to his heart.

A reminder of his early days, riding the family’s old Vespa to work in the back of the city’s finest restaurants and bakeries. And a chance to share with others the food, and traditions, he loves the most.

Great place for excellent Italian food. Ambiance in main seating area is lovey - on the window side it’s more plain.

Food was great; service was extremely slow. Disappointing we were charged for water; that was definitely a first - staff should advise before offering and serving it.

Great Italian food in the suburbs! Overall, Giostra continues to provide good size portions, good service, and a high quality dining experience. Everything that we've tried have been dishes that we want to have again. Highly recommend. The only criticism, coffee. Way too strong for our personal taste, and no refills.

The four of us had a wonderful dining experience. Food and drink were excellent and our server Anthony was phenomenal. We will definitely be back.

Love the food, happy with that. The service team tried, but really stumbled every step from beginning to end. Details unnecessary, it took 2 hours 40 minutes for 4 people to dine in a nearly empty environment. Service folks pleasant and accommodating, but, ouch. Will give it one more shot since the food is excellent.

The food was amazing. The staff were very helpful explaining the menu and suggesting options. Definitely coming back!

Great evening with great food & service. Note, it’s all ala carte so everything is extra including the bread unfortunately but everything was delicious.

Another fantastic meal by Fabio Viviani and Company. Tried the Summer special salmon which was perfectly cooked and also indulged in the pistachio crème brûlée for dessert which was truly one of the most delicious desserts I’ve ever eaten. Service was top-notch. A+++
