The Afternoon Tea Ritual is a quintessential St. Regis tradition and an important part of our culture. The story of afternoon tea date back to Anna, Duchess of Bedford who is considered to have invented the ceremony of the afternoon tea party. Mrs. Caroline Astor adopted the tradition stateside, offering an occasion to gather her closest intimates as a prelude to formal social events. This ceremony was then continued by her son, John Jacob Astor IV, at the St. Regis New York, and ultimately around the world as a signature ritual in all of our hotels.. Our exquisite afternoon tea ritual offer is presented in Oriente Italiano™ c/o Ginori 1735. La Via del Tè is particularly sensitive to environmental and ethical issues.

We had a great dining experience with delicious food and good service. The staff were friendly and professional, and the overall atmosphere was nice. The only downside was that the wait between being seated and receiving our food was a bit too long

Staff and location fantastic! Food was not great for the price $$$$. Only 3 out of 8 dishes were good value for the $$$$. Risotto too salty. Lamb quality and taste not great. Should be 1/3 costs. Drinks and Cocktails over priced.

They had a fantastic selection of wines and a very knowledgeable sommelier. The food was fantastic and the view was unmatched. I recommend trying their version of a bloody mary dedicated to the basilica della salute, which you have a fantastic view of from the restaurant. It was one of the most interesting cocktails I have ever had. The atmosphere was amazing and the service was great. I would definitely recommend going here if you have a chance.

Everything about this place is great - food, service, location. But don’t expect it to be cheap and EUR500 is the going entry-level rate. As a one-off though, totally worth it.

I have had the fortune to eat all over the world, often at 5, 6 & 7 star hotels. Some hotels have all the appearance of genuinely caring about their customer’s experience and do provide stunning looking food. When you dig deep though, the service isn’t culture driven, but just training where the heart and souls of the staff are elsewhere. One often sees tasting menus, and I’m often drawn to these as it’s a chance to see inside the chef’s mind, his or her soul and understand what drives them. Of course, the sad occasions when the food is ill-conceived and badly executed is always disappointing, particularly as they present it so well! St Regis though is the real thing. The staff there truly enjoy pleasing their guests and going the extra mile, and take pride in doing so. The chef is passionate about his journey and the culinary fine dining experience this has created. His vision had cohesion and works on so many levels. Instead of directionless forays into fads and techniques that haven’t yet been fully mastered or even understood, at the St Regis, we have a chef who is a skilled master of his art, and understands textures and flavour combinations that build and take the diner on exquisite and sometimes wonderfully unexpected directions. Add the magical ambience of the setting sun over the grand canal, and you have a unique dining experience, one which will stay with you forever! Last night was a truly memorable night to remember and I thank all the staff for this wonderful experience. I don’t normally wax so lyrically, but when you do find perfection, one has to celebrate it. Bravo St Regis!

We made reservations two months ago and were truly looking forward to ending our trip to Venice with a top-tier meal that would reflect the high standards of excellence we’ve come to associate with the St. Regis brand. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of our most disappointing—and most expensive—meals not only in Venice, but also our 14 days in Italy. Three members of our party, including myself, ordered the fillet and all of them arrived medium to well done, despite each of us requesting it rare. Normally, I might send back a steak that overcooked, but the meat itself was also completely lacking in seasoning and was surprisingly tough and dry—more reminiscent of pot roast than a tender fillet. Additionally, my friend ordered the risotto, which she could not eat and ultimately sent back—something none of us take lightly. Among our group are two avid home chefs, and we all agreed it was one of the worst renditions we’ve encountered. I rarely send food back or request to speak to a manager. Had this experience occurred in a touristy, lesser-known spot, I might have let it go. But given the reputation, elevated pricing, and the setting of the St. Regis, our expectations were understandably high—and were not met. While I would still recommend stopping by the bar to enjoy a cocktail and the beautiful view, I would not recommend dining at the restaurant based on the quality of the food and the value for the price.

The views are amazing, which is why we chose this place. Food was good as expected, we had lunch and chose grilled octopus, sea bass and my 10 year old had chicken with fries and some drinks. We knew it was pricey but some added fees such as cover charges for each adult and kid plus gratuity of 20% added in (party of 3) which we didn't notice until we left and left additional tips, souered this experience.
