   It is a beautiful restaurant and great food, it was a little bit noisy but everything else was spectacular, food and drinks were outstanding.

   Shocked to be able to get a reservation on a Saturday night. Plenty of outdoor seating and open to the outside. The ambience in the restaurant and the decor is beautiful. The food was excellent and the service fantastic. Will definitely go back.

   Food was pretty tasty at Gioia. Everything we ordered for the table was worth it. Went on a weeknight and it wasn’t crowded at all.

   First time at Gioia. Food was very good. Our server was disappointing. He seemed visibly impatient and didn't provide much help in our ordering decisions. Very good bartender and nice ambience. We sat inside but next to open windows so we enjoyed the cool of the evening.

   My wife’s birthday. Fantastic meal and service! She and a friend did the pasta prepared table side which was delicious as always! I had a filet with truffle that rivaled any steakhouse in Chicago! Service is impeccable, ambiance wonderful and they helped us pick a perfect Barolo!

    I had a lovely experience at Gioia’s! The food was delicious, staff was attentive and they had a good wine selection. Great location in West Loop with valet parking.

    My friend took me out for a birthday dinner and everything was wonderful and I have never had a better crab pasta. The restaurant is very elegant and service and attention was first rate. I cannot wait to go again.

    Great food and service., but the "energetic" atmosphere is just plain loud. I for one don't like shouting at my table mates to be heard.

    Started with Campari and soda with the ahi tuna. Very good followed with a bottle of a super Tuscan, mushroom risotto and the multi faceted pork plate. All were very good. Ended with coffee and an Italian nepolian and ice cream. Service was fine and the patio is very relaxing

    Gioia is my favorite restaurant in Chicago. I have been there many times. I have really had pasta is good outside of Italy. I honestly have had anything that was less than spectacular. Service is great, ambience is great, indoor or outdoor seating.

    Went on a Tues night and service was too slow - sat too long waiting for drinks, waiting for water to be refilled, waiting for dinner orders to be taken. The GIOIA NEI PACCHERI is overrated - lacked any real flavor, needed salt and more cheese. The PICI TOSCANI on the other hand was outstanding and definitely a re-order!

    Excellent food, bartenders were great. Server was a bit pushy. What I did not like was the prices versus the portions. For the prices the restaurant charged the serving portions were light. For example one of us had a salad for $18, it was enough for one. A salad at that price should be shareable. I had the swordfish. It was excellent but not a big portion. My partner had the pasta for two as that is what she wanted. There was not enough for two. I had a bit of it, but nothing left to take home. So as much as I liked the food it was overpriced. Inside was quite noisy.

    From the moment one steps into Gioia, one feels welcome by staff. All staff were efficient, friendly, and helpful. I have bee there several times for supper and am always pleased with the dining choices, looking forward to trying new things each time.

    The table side pasta is not plentiful, but delicious. They give you a bib to wear if you order it, and it's for 2 people at minimum. Only prepared table side for inside dining, not in the outside seating area. The Branzino was excellent, as was the Carciofi salad and Cavatelli.

    Love Gioia! I’ve been four times. The ambiance is amazing and the food has been great every time I’ve been there. It’s definitely one of my favorite restaurants in West Loop.

    I generally do not write reviews and when I do they are generally negative reviews. This review, however, is an exception. Everything about this eating experience was great! This quite possibly was one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. The entire staff are well trained and the food was excellent!

    I called to make a reservation, “we don’t have any openings”. I went on open table and they had an opening—we walked into an empty restaurant. The waiter was ok, the front of the house staff were curt and borderline rude. I’ll never be back.

    A wonderful meal and experience. The grilled octopus was delicious with our cocktail and beer. The bread service is very good, especially for sopping up juices. We ordered the fried, mixed seafood platter for two. Thaws enough for 3 people. Swe enjoyed a very nice white wine from Italy with dinner. No meal is complete without dessert. So we had the meringue, ice cream cake with coffee. Service was attentive, but not clawing. We highly recommend Giovanni.
