Nice atmosphere, very good food, outstanding service!
Good dinning experience. Interesting flavor combinations. Would go back again.
Wow, just wow! Such amazing food and the blueberry egg rolls were beyond good! Highly recommend for the food, drinks and atmosphere! Next time I’m Anchorage we will be dining here.
This weekend we decided to go out for dinner after I had gotten back from a ten day trip. We have frequented many of the restaurants around town and have seemed to been let down in one way or another especially since the start of COVID. We tried to change our reservation a little later but they were booked which was unfortunate. When we arrived the staff was super helpful and we were seated right away. The only down side is we were seated pretty close to another table which made it feel a little confined and less intimate. However, the staff was super attentive and the food was excellent. We would definitely return to Ginger again soon and have been recommending it to our friends.
An amazing place in the middle of downtown but lots of locals. The food is creative and tasty. Staff was helpful on choices and wines, which is very good.
This was a great find in Anchorage. The food was excellent. We all had a couple of appetizers which had very generous portion size and great taste and presentation. The service top notch.
It was a little loud but only due to a young group who were celebrating a birthday. I don’t think it would have been that way on a normal evening.
I never leave reviews in restaurants but the food and drink were amazing. Everything was good. I had the mac n cheese, curry chicken over jasmine rice, filet minon, and the eggroll appetizer. I had cadillac margaritas to put the icing on the cake. I will be back here.
Amazing special! The cod was fabulous and my husband cleaned his plate - he said it was the best burger he had in Alaska.
Something different from the pub type of food at Anchorage and didn’t disappoint! Better than expected and fantastic staff made this last night a meal to remember!
Great meal — every dish!
We had tuna tower, sesame ginger Caesar salad, mee krob. Delish!
Marvelous creative Asian fusion cuisine! We’ll prepared and properly served with attentive staff. Lovely ambiance also.
We had an extra person come and the staff at Ginger were so nice and accommodating. Thank you for making my nieces birthday dinner so special.
Awesome food and service. We love the comfy feeling while we was dining.
Someone recommended this to us. We were NOT disappointed. Great food, drinks, and service…a combination rarity these days!
One of our entrees had overcooked potatoes and an under seasoned NY steak. Comparatively, the dish seemed overpriced by about $11-13 to that of Club Paris. Other than this we had a wonderful time. Our server was absolutely amazing; responsive to a high number of tables including ours. The waitress was very helpful, going above and beyond - even gave us a freshly created/ non-disposable towelette. Open Table easily saved us at least 30 minutes or an hour of wait time.
Great food and it was nice to be able to have reservations on Open Table.
Dinner was great and the service staff were polite and attentive. There were no specials on the menu, but everything tasted wonderful.
The food was outstanding and Evan our server/bartender was wonderful.
Would highly recommend and the food was very good.
Service was exceptional and food was great. Our server made for an enjoyable evening.
The food tasted great. The restaurant did a good job with its modern take on Asian-influenced cuisine. Portion sizes were adequate. Our waitress was very attentive but not intrusive. She also wore a mask - very reassuring during COVID. My reservation was for 6 pm but I was able to get seated earlier at 5:30 pm. This place was a pleasant surprise and turned out to be great place to celebrate my birthday. I would recommend it to friends and family should they visit Anchorage.
Excellent overall. Great service, friendly, fun and professional staff. Food was well prepared and very good!
Consistently good food and service with interesting delicious cocktails.
Very enjoyable meal in Anchorage. We shared Mee crob along with Alaskan scallops. Both perfectly prepared and nicely plated. For dessert blueberry and cream cheese egg rolls. I was debating having the chocolate cake but the staff recommended the the egg rolls and I’m glad they did.
The atmosphere was great, very moody and quiet in the middle of downtown. Service was attentive. Ginger is advertised as an Asian fusion restaurant, and already I am not crazy about Asian fusion, but it came highly recommended among Anchorage restaurants. Maybe it feels unique in Anchorage, but I expect several of the mom-n-pop places in town are much more satisfying.
We tried General Tsao's Fried Chicken (ok, but not as good as old-fashioned fried chicken or the normal General Tsao's); scallops on mac and cheese (scallops were fine, mac and cheese was more like traditional Italian pasta, nothing Asian or fusion about it, and pretty silly to charge $35 for an okay dish); and the pork ribs (vaguely Korean, with good peanut noodles on the side).
I will say that the "Monk Meets Mt Fuji" cocktail was EXCELLENT. Other cocktails were fine.
It was my birthday!
Wonderful restaurant with a very diverse menu, great cocktails, and good ambience. A bit pricey and not really kid friendly. Halibut special was out of this world!!
My dad and I were visiting Anchorage and someone recommended Ginger to us. Boy were we happy with the recommendation. Food was original, interesting, plentiful and delicious. I particularly recommend the Tuna Tower appetizer and the General Taos chicken entree. Eat here, you will not be disappointed.
We had the tuna tower which was awesome. My husband had the Mac and cheese with scallops and the portion was really enough for two-delicious. I had the red beef red curry- exceptional- Too full for dessert. The bar drinks were very tasty Overall the experience was worth sharing a review for all. Enjoy!!!
Awesome food and great service. Would definitely come back
Our food was very good. An interesting mix of traditional flavors, spicy highlights and comfortable sides. The service ws very good. Wait staff was attentive, meal pacing was good.
We were seated right by the front door. This detracted some from our comfort and the ambiance. The restaurant is in the middle of downtown, so parking is always a factor.
Wonderful place. Food is excellent. One our favs in anchorage
The halibut special was perfectly prepared!!
A great dining experience!
Reservation in advance guaranteed us a spot, hourly parking available nearby.
The food was delicious, fresh, and creative. Would go there again.
The waitstaff was amazing. The food was amazing. Will go again!
Ginger was a huge disappointment. We did not get service for nearly an hour except water. No waitstaff no explanation. Meanwhile tables near us who were seated well after our arrival (friends of the tall blonde waitress) received immediate attention. After an hour and a half we should have walked out, instead we asked reception to find us service whereupon she tried to take our orders then our waitress barged in and claimed that besides the banquet she'd had to field a cranky takeout complaint. We sympathized but her service soon disappeared. As we began to take notes for the series of insults including the big blonde saying "we're really busy" in answer to our statement that we hadnt seen a waitperson for over an hr, then somehow our apps appeared but the mains took 2.5 hrs and while tasty the whole experience was very disrespectful and totally unwarranted. I would not go there and expect decent service, I would expect attitude. Shame on you Ginger! The broccolini was unrecognizable except as a charred green shoe lace
We ate their twice during our visit to Anchorage, and each time all of our food was excellent. Udon noodle soup was different than I have ever had. Service is both attentive and relaxed. They even checked our bags when our coach was delayed and arrived just as the time of our reservation.
Had a wonderful dinner and a great waitress! Always a fun night out.
