The service was excellent and the noise level was conducive to conversation. The menu on the OpenTable website and the menu on the restaurant itself’s website were significantly different than the menu presented to us by our server. It’s not easy to change s reservation during holiday season in NY, but had it been a more favorable season, we would have looked for a different location. The portions were adequate and the entre quality was ok, but something as simple as a bread tray was not provided nor offered. We would not recommend it to our friends!
My partner was using the walker but the waiter intended to take us to a far end corner table from accessible entrance. I indicated that it was too far and uncomfortable corner. The nasty waiter just waved both hands in the air and said we could take any table .

I was planning to put no tip on the bill but the bill came with 15% extra charges. Disgusting is the word!
We arrived for Restaurant Week and found a loud, bumbling group of bankers basically screaming at each other across the bar. It was impossible to hear each other in the dining room. Wouldn't recommend eating here. We left before ordering for a different spot.
This night was thoroughly uninspiring. We went for restaurant week, and the night was not worth even the discount prices. They did not present us with the restaurant week menu and once we asked for it it seemed like they lost interest in our table even though there were only maybe 5 other tables in the entire restaurant. The food was underwhelming with very small portions--not warranting even the 42 dollar prefix (which they were out of one of the two desserts!!). The drinks were the only redeeming factor, with high end gin martinis tasting delicious but warranting the high price. I had a delicious cocktail with gin and chartreuse.
Overall, I would not recommend, the uncomfortable atmosphere and lack of fine dining details did not warrant the high prices.
My husband and I came here for restaurant week, on top of their endless list of Gin options, the food selections were great and very delicious! We shared the octopus, salmon, skate and steak. Everything was delicate and very tasteful. Would definitely go back! Great vibe!
Because we were Restaurant Week patrons, we were made to sit at the lobby bar tables, but our waiter was apparently assigned to the main dining room in the rear, so we rarely saw him and had to often ask someone else to send him to us. Made the experience less than pleasant, although the food was creative and tasty, served in small portions. The people-watching was fun and we chatted with some out of town tourists and were able to offer tips to enrich their visit. Not a repeat place.
Quality and experience overall was what I expected from its association with the Intercontinental hotel. Recently renovated so hard to comment on the décor but the ambience was enhanced by the relatively quiet dining experience. Staff were excellent. Suggest waiter be just ready to refill coffee instead of frequent attendance (sorry but this reminded me of the type of service experienced in a diner - but only this experience). Very good overall. Since the Club InterContinental just closed we enjoyed Continental breakfasts on the house. Yes it was delicious but we never would have paid $40 each.
Also, service was lackluster. The hostess finished her text before even acknowledging us. Waited awhile until the waiter ever came by. Our first course plates sat on our table while we ate a second helping.
We also received drink tickets & each enjoyed two after our late checkout. They were nice & strong but a little too sweet.
Meeting a friend before he left for Colombia, with a strong preference for Beefeater, I chose this from several notable gin joints. The experience was mixed. Being the Christmas season, there was caroling in the lobby, great for the people that wanted it, but terrible for drinks with a friend. It eventually ended making conversation easier and allowing us to relax in the ambiance of the place, both luxurious and sedate. The drinks and the food menu seemed innovative, but we were unhappy with most of the concoctions, other than the straight up gin and tonic. The food was passable, but not particularly good, and the best part of the meal was the Chocolate Crunch dessert, which was absolutely wonderful.
Came here for brunch. The server was a nice enough man but harried. The eggs Benedict were terrible. Surprising that eggs Benedict could be bad. The pancakes were good. This restaurant area seems like it was an afterthought. It was pretty disappointing. No hostess to greet you as you enter the lobby area as the restaurant/ bar area blends into the lobby. I was confused as to where to enter. It was just nothing special about it. Such a shame. Odd all the way around.
