Wait staff was great when we first got there, but then kind of tapered off as we went along.
The plants tickling my hair annoyed me. I’d sit someplace else next time.
My lobster club salad was delicious!! Will try the lobster roll next time!
The food was excellent...especially the lobster salad and lobster roll. Loved the atmosphere though you definitely need to sit by the fan/air spritzer on a sunny warm day!
Jungle in NYC
One of the most beautiful restaurant/garden style in SOHO NYC
Went to Brunch with 6 friends on at the outdoor restaurant. Even though it was a 90 degree day in the middle of July, Gilligans offered the perfect outdoor dining oasis. Serving was attentive and kind. The food made you feel like you were dining in the Hampton’s. And the drinks were so refreshing. I got the frozen watermelon margarita. Highly reccomend for a leisurely brunch experience in the summer.
The hostess was exceptional. She was kind and very knowledgeable. She even gave us a little history on Gillian’s. Our waitress on the other hand was clueless and seemed like stand-offish. She didn’t bring us what we asked for so I ended up paying more for my oysters. We chocked it up to that day being an off day for her. We would definitely return. The atmosphere is great! The food is delicious!
Perfect ambience, especially for summer brunch ... but the staff could be more polite about their mistakes. Long story short, go for drinks and tropical vibes (not the food or service).
So fun for happy hour but we ordered a pitcher to split between 3 people and it didn’t even fill all three of our cups... kind of a rip off. I suggest just getting single glasses.
