About Gigino Trattoria
Gigino Trattoria opened its doors in August of 1994. The owners, Bob Giraldi and Phil Suarez, along with executive chef Luigi Celentano, have kept Gigino flourishing in the ever-changing Tribeca neighborhood. Chef Celentano creates both the menu and wine list, with daily specials of seasonally fresh seafood, game and vegetables. Gigino prides itself on the fact that all their dishes are prepared to order and almost all their pastas and breads are house-made. Fresh fish specials are featured on the “specials blackboard” daily, and it’s safe to say they also have the best pizza in Tribeca! Dining at Gigino Trattoria is a pleasure every time!

Gigino Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
Second time here for New years Eve - decorated in a festive way - nice and warm being 10 degrees outside - service very good and friendly and not rushing - food was delicious - great vegetable soup and creamy barrata with Eggplant - would definitely go back
The pizza here was good but 2 courses and 2 glasses of wine came to almost $120 which really ridiculous for pizza and calamari that was over cooked and chewy. Forgot part of the order too and no apology which meant a wait. It would have been a great find if better value as the pizza was good.
What a fantastic place!! We dined here for our Christmas Day lunch, and were so happy with everything! Our waitress of Eastern Europe origins (I think) was great, the food was amazing and ambience was Christmassy, homely and very welcoming!
If we lived in NYC, we would be regular diners.
Though we are two, we request a middle size table because we use to order variety of plates and drinks. But, the receptionist rejected our petition and with bad aptitude assigned a little table... Consequently our dinner was terrible uncomfortable. Besides the food is so expensive without quality for it.
Gigino is always warm and welcoming, a bit of the Mediterranean in TriBeCa. It is a neighborhood restaurant, not fancy, just excellent food and service. The pasta dishes are amazing (Rigatonia Mamma MIA is my favorite) and fish and shrimp are perfectly prepared. We had a mixup with friends going to the wrong location, and the staff was lovely and gracious while we waited for them (we also sampled several delicious appetizers, including grilled calamari with creamy polenta). What a gem!
We had a nice quiet table in the back. Food was hot, fresh, and in reasonable size proportions. Table service could have been a little better. Waitress was more interested in chatting with a co-worker when we need things. Would still go back for the food- just would hope for better service.
Nice place. Good food. Mediocre service. My wife’s pesto ravioli came and were luke warm, she was ok with that but It took 10 minutes to get my margharita pizza after my wife’s plate came. Because we were dining al fresco, the ravioli dish was stone cold in a few minutes. I pointed out to the waiter that you never bring food for 1 customer and take 10 minutes to bring the rest. His answer was “sorry we are just very busy with deliveries” REALLY?
At the end I ordered a desert and when the bill came the waiter told me the desert was on the house. Which was nice but, the experience was not what I wanted to be on my date night with my wife’s.
Love, love the food and atmosphere of this place....it is consistently good....and their specials are exceptional. My favorite little dining spot! Comfortable and relaxing...no rushing...very enjoyable. Staff is EXCELLENT! Their attitude towards patrons and their knowledge of the food and wine....AND, they remember their customers!
