We just happened into Gigino, because it was across the street from our hotel. What a fortuitous surprise! The restaurant is small and quiet, and the Italian food was authentic and perfectly prepared. We shared a simple arugula salad; I had seafood risotto; my friend had the fish special, which was Branzino with seafood. The seafood was cooked perfectly, and the dishes were piping hot. We each had a glass of the red wine our waiter recommended, which was delicious. I would happily go back.
It was perfect! Very good italian food!!! Amazin view on liberty statue!!!
Felt too expensive for what it actually was but was good overall.
We went to Gigino in order to be near an event at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, which is a few steps away from the restaurant. Unfortunately it was hard to find -- and the taxi and Uber drivers could not get me directly to it. While the food and ambiance were fine, and we did make our curtain time, it would have been nice to get there without walking 3 blocks in the cold wind to find the door. I found only one person in the immediate neighborhood who could give explicit directions on how to get there. A big sign out front would have helped a lot!
Delicious food. Great service. Cozy atmosphere
Wonderful top service and delicious food! The weather is really professional and nice and the view perfect
The food was great. My mother is very picky. Loved the grilled calamari and Risotto Pescatore. It was a pleasure to see her enjoy the meal.
C’est parfait depuis une dizaine d’années que je vais dans ce restaurant je ne suis jamais déçu
It's expensive and far from statue of liberty (our main interest when We booked). But The meals were delicious.
We went on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is right in Battery Park, a few steps away from the Museum of Jewish Heritage. It is right on the water in Wagner Park. The food was delicious, friendly service, quiet and a real find. The food was fresh and well prepared, with creativity.
The proximity to Heritage Muaeum makes this an excellent pre theatre choice.
Our dining experience on Thursday night December 27 was wonderful! The food, the drinks, the ambiance, the service, and even the view of the Statue of Liberty from inside were all fantastic!! We enjoyed our first time experience so much that we are bringing friends with us to have dinner tonight (Saturday 12/29). We can’t wait to share this delightful experience with others!😊👌🏻
Figured this would be nice for Christmas holidays with ambiance warmth etc. Not much at all. Christmas tree in closed area. Nothing basically in dining area. Disappointing. Went across st to Wagner Hotel to their beautiful lobby for holiday ambience. Giorgio’s only nice in summer at sunset with great view...
Horrible food was slow and came out cold! Checked a new leather they ruined it without an apology!!
Would never recommend, never again!!! Too bad, I run a large business right next door!!
Lovely setting, nice view of Statue of Liberty. Food was very good, service very good. Would like to come in warm weather to appreciate the view in back on the water. Will be back!
Enjoyed the price fixe meal. The chicken tortellini vegetable soup was light and tasty. The Pollo Francesina was so soft you didn’t need a knife to cut it. The tiramisu for dessert was just enough of a portion so as not to feel overstuffed while attending the theater afterwards.
The glass of wine ordered was a generous serving.
Would go back again. Probably amazing to sit outside on a nice summer night and view the Statue of Liberty.
Table next to us was so loud! The food was good & the view is amazing.
On holiday from England. Very accommodating as we were 2hrs early. The set menu was very good value and we both thought our choice of starter, main course and sweet was excellent, very good portion sizes and flavour.
Thank you, it completed our great trip to the Statue and Ellis Island.
All very delicious.
We were promptly seated and served traditional Italian food. Out of the way spot except if you are visiting the Statue of Liberty or Museum of Jewish Heritage in which event it is the only nearby place.
Terrific experience! Service excellent, winter is off season for the view but awesome intimate gem.
My friend and I dined here on a Monday night and there wasn’t a soul there. It was nice to have the entire place to ourselves and the view is spectacular. The food was delicious and the service was great (you would hope given no one was there). I’m sure this place gets full on a weekend so our experience wasn’t necessarily common, but it was fantastic.
I love this restaurant in the summer when you can sit outside and enjoy the view...but find the harsh overhead lighting during the other months cold and glaring. It takes away from any intimate dining experience. If the lighting in this restaurant was changed - it would be romantic and fabulous!
We had a lovely dinner with friends. I ate the Prix Fixe dinner for $33 and enjoyed it. However, I thought that the portions were very small.
After reading less than great reviews I was skeptical but on the Wednesday evening in early November it was everything I wanted.
Without crowds the service was very good, the food was well prepared and the view of the Statue of Liberty was unobstructed. A very relaxing dinner.
Great find. On the Hudson with great views unfortunately marred by the weather. Had the prix fix menu at $33 for three courses. Tortalini in brodo was very good and the salmon was excellent. Great wait staff. Can't wait to return
The fish was delicious but at one point we started to smell the strong odor of cleaning product coming from another room. It was so potent it gave us headaches. Also, there was some crazy plumbing issue going on in a bathroom. I'd been before in the summer which was much nicer because you could sit outside.
The food here is delicious
The most dramatic view in Nyc
Great meal - Can’t wait to return. I love the location and look forward to sitting outside in the spring.
Great view of Statue of Liberty at sunset.
Food was excellent.
Nous avons pris des pâtes. Elles étaient bonnes et bien al dente. L’endroit est joli, tout au sud de Manathan et en face de la statue (mais il faut des jumelles pour bien la voir...).
Delicious pasta with seafood entrees at reasonable prices. Outstanding service
The best thing about this restaurant is the beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty. other than that, sitting in the restaurant feels a little bit like a cafeteria, lots and lots of tables in rows. the menu is decent, the food is ordinary
The management was extremely accommodating to us when our party increased from two to six, and we all made the curtain next door at the Museum at 7 PM with ease. The wait staff was helpful, and very nice. The food was delivered quickly and was delicious. And the water views and Statue of Liberty views were spectacular.
Nice casual place!
Great evening very beautiful a bit cold but otherwise amazing prices and great food
The food was excellent. There was some mix-up in the beginning and the service started out terrible.
It got better later on during the meal.
Beautiful views of Statue of Liberty. The food was good, the noise level okay. Only complaint: it got a bit cool. We were in the tented area and it wasn't heated.
wonderful view, excellent food, we had the prix fix, even though the prix fix menu was limiited, the food was really excellent
