Daily specials at both lunch and dinner allow a focus on seasonal and local ingredients to showcase fresh Mediterranean fare.
Another excellent meal at Gigi. I only wish I could have ordered more food (like the Souza), but my diet won’t let me. My dining companions had the scallops which looked incredible. My Barbina salad was topped with an exquisite piece of Salmon. I’ll return soon!
We went on Valentines Day so the restaurant may have been busier than usual. Not withstanding this, our entrees were excellent and delivered right after we finished our shared starter of fried oysters. We wish we could have had more of these oysters, but of course needed to save room. We had the Chicken Tangine and the Porchettini. Both we fantastic and done to perfection. We skipped dessert, though.
Truly delicious food. Excellent service. We will definitely return.
Great cosey place with no pretense. Staff are very willing to help without attitude.
The food was mediocre at best. We ordered the Gambas to start which was meh. We had the pizza margarita which was okay. The mussels were fresh, but the French fries were thrown in a bread basket and not served in a cone which other diners had. They also seem to be afraid of using garlic even though the menu descriptions state garlic is a main ingredient. The waitress was very good. Probably won’t go back for dinner anytime soon.
The food is fine, nothing exceptional. We found the service very slow and not attentive.
Great skizza, perfect salmon, delicious ragu.
I wish they’d redo the wine by the glass list.
Loved my dinner here.
Thank you for a wonderful meal! Every meal we ate, from salmon to cauliflower to pasta to skizza, was delicious!
We had the BEST waiter ever which always makes for a great meal! Steaks were great!
Service was very slow, we had to wait a long time for menus and then the food didn't come out all together. Towards the end of the meal it was difficult to find our server to pay and leave.
It was adequate
Great atmosphere, fabulous food - great end to a long day of travel and shopping
Great service from Frankie. Excellent food - shrimp appetizer - special salad - steak frites - chicken tangine - lemon cake.
Had reservations but had to wait a bit to be seated. Server was friendly and kind enough. After 30 minutes our drink order had not arrived. Two different people had to go ask ; our server nowhere to be found. When the drinks were delivered we were told the drink order had accidentally been punched out as completed. They would be free on our bill.
Another 15 minutes and no appetizer. Server surfaced and was surprised our starters were not there. He came back 10 minutes later to tell us the kitchen had the calamari but they needed to chop it and prepare it. Our chick pea fries were ready though, if we wanted them ? We said yes to fries and cancel the calamari .
Another 10 minutes no food had arrived- 3 out of 4 orders were salads;and the 4th was chicken . Went and found host who checked on drinks to ask if she could check on food as it had been an hour. Another 10 minutes and host who seated us noticed we had been there a while and said she was going to try finding our server. We said st this point we wanted to pay for the fries and leave. She was polite and kind and repeated she was going to try and find server. 3 of us left and fourth person waited another 5, server never showed up, host shrugged and apologized .
Perplexing as this is not a new establishment learning the ropes . Probably won’t try our luck a second time.
They booked the restaurant to capacity and So the staff could not possibly keep up. We waited over 1 hour for our meal and were virtually ignored by the staff. Way too loud inside.
Great mussels with fries and pizza. Great variety on the menu. Would highly recommend this place.
Outstanding overall experience - Highly recommend if you are visiting Rhinebeck!
Waitress was wonderful and appetizers of calamari and spicy shrimp was delicious! Our main dishes of lobster ravioli and the seafood mushroom risotto were so good! All in all! It was a great meal
Not the best. Server was more concerned about turning over tables.
We got our food...needed cheese and bread, got his attention and said I’ll be right with you then took orders for 2 other four tops
Food was very good.
Probably won’t go back.
I had a delicately broiled piece of cod in a caper sauce that I am still thinking about (fondly!) three days later. Gigi is stylish, relaxed, and delicious.
Consistently good. Pasta, Fish ,Flatbread Pizza (skizza)
Recently, after new paint and vivid art on the walls, Gigi looks great. I've been going there as long as it's been open, and it's easy to count it my favorite place in this restaurant town. There's been some falling off
in the quality of the food in my last three visits. We all had frittatas for lunch this time. They were thin
slices of egg, with few special ingredients that were mentioned by our server - roasted cauliflower, for instance. Bread, which used to be generously sized and served with olive oil for every table, is now a "perk," which when asked for are dollar-sized rounds with a bit of butter alongside. The wine is still good and well-chosen. So more consistency in the quality of the food would bring Gigi's - still a great place - back to its former position!
It's good to know there are restaurants that serve delicious food in a welcoming atmosphere. We have been often, ordered a variety of foods and are never disappointed. But the highlight is the friendly and attentive staff and gracious hostess.
Had a delicious vegan meal.
Fantastic dining experience and Kelly was a superb bartender!!!
We were never offered a bread basket to start up our dinner & even had to ask once we were already eating our main course. Appetizer of Calamari was very tasty, but a bit small for the two of us as well as the sauce, which was not enough. The main course was very tasty indeed, but again rather small in the portion for the price charged, and again we had to ask if we could get some parmigiana cheese since it was not offered.
Our opinion overall was that the portions all around were small for the prices charged, and we had to ask for things that should have been offered rather then asked for. Our bill of $85 for 2, before tip with only 2 beers, was high in our opinion although very well cooked and tasty.
This is a great place for a casual meal done very well. Fresh ingredients, thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully presented. Great service, which is what makes this place special.
Service was perfect. We ate outdoors but the inside seems noisy. Food was a little overpriced but you are paying for Rhinebeck ambience. We went on a weeknight so it wasn’t crowded. I’m wondering what it’s like to dine there when it’s crowded. I’m going to repeat: the waitstaff is wonderful.
We had a light lunch including Caesar salads. The salads were just not as good as they have been in the past. Not much parm or croutons. Dressing only medium. Desserts were great.
Great food, beverages and service! Recommend to everyone
The salads, pasta, and apple desserts at Gigi are absolutely terrific. We dine here about every 3 weeks on a Friday evening.
Delicious, quiet dinner with great service.
Very disappointing. The tables for two are inches apart. The conversations at the tables to our left and right were as though they were taking place at our table. The service was rushed. The beet salad was overdressed and somewhat mushy. The tagliatelle with ragu was good.
Food and service was great,
will go back next time we are in the area
If in Rhinebeck again, I’d go back
I live about 50 minutes north of Rhinebeck and have several friends on the other side of the river. Gigi is my go-to favorite place to meet in the middle. The food is quite good, they take good care of us, and it is a pleasant atmosphere. It's worth the drive. We've tried other places but come back over and over to Gigi.
The food seems to have improved recently although my skizza was a bit overdone. The salads were excellent and my husband enjoyed his risotto. The service was very nice and we were accommodated with a quiet(er) table, per my request due to hearing issues. Our reservation was at 8 on Saturday evening, which worked out fairly well because by about 8:45 the crowd thinned out and the noise diminished.
We had a wonderful evening at GiGi. Phil, our sever, was outstanding. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious!
Server was top notch. Handled our large party with no issues. Food was well portioned and very tasty. Very accommodating to some of our “picky” eaters. This was our first time dining here and we will definitely be returning.
food-well prepared but over priced-green salad very disappointing for the price -for 12 dollars you could put a little more cheese in it
