Third time back in 6 weeks and still one of my new favorite restaurants. Thursday night is DJ night so noise level is higher than the other times I was here but still a great time. Food still yummy.
Everything was good. Service was great
Ambience excellent, staff very good, prices reasonable. Overall very enjoyable.
Great restaurant! We loved it so much we are throwing a birthday party there in September. Try the short rib you will not be disappointed!
The food was horrible. My boyfriend and I ordered beef tacos and the beef was chewy and fatty. The calamari was chewy and tasted almost like it wasn’t breaded correctly. The chicken Milanese was hard and the chicken was stringy. The lettuce was just thrown on top of the chicken. It didn’t look presentable. I eventually ordered the Margherita pizza which wasn’t bad but definitely better than the other things we had ordered. The food came out fast which is probably why it wasn’t good. I much have rather waited long for quality food. However, the service was nice. Everyone was pleasant and it is a great ambiance but the food did not match. I personally would not recommend this place.
The restaurant is beautiful and it’s a pleasure to be in. However, the food was not extraordinary, it was good but not awesome. I was hoping the dessert menu would be intriguing but it wasn’t.
I ambiance was lively and a nice place to spend the evening. The food is good but somehow doesn’t measure up to the beautiful appearance of the restaurant.
Everyone from management to wait staff was attentive, friendly, and pleasant. We even got to meet the interior designer who did an amazing job in the Art Deco decor. I am already going back. Looks like a great place for small groups or larger parties too.
Loved it!! Great attention
FANTASTIC!!!!!
Celebrated my birthday in a beautiful restaurant with great food. Had fun
Great restaurant!
Food not as good as prior experience. Salty, overly flowing in sauce and fair presentation.
Excellent spot for dinner, will definitely return
Great food and great staff. First time coming was for restaurant week, but will definitely come again.
The ambiance is fantastic. Very modern and different. The food was not only good but the presentation was impressive. We will definitely return.
Gigante was a great time. The ambiance and decor alone was a sight to see. The appetizers and special cocktails were delightful. The main entrees were tasty, but alittle salty in two of three meals. The desserts were also very yummy and presented so well. Definitely would go back and try out the rest of the menu and have a few more cocktails.
My boyfriend and I attended Gigante for the first time during resturaunt week - and we were blown away! This was probably one of the best meals him and I have had. For appetizers we got the meatball & mozzarella/prosciutto dish, main course we had the lamb chop & the penne alla vodka and dessert we had zepolli & chocolate lava cake - every single thing was absolutely amazing and worth the price! Aside from the food, the space is beautiful. We are really looking forward to coming back and dining on the full menu.
Mozzarella appetizer was just ok, but the pork chop and lava cake dessert were both outstanding. Loved the vibe and the bar.
Friends had taken me for my birthday in February and everything was wonderful. This time, other than the drinks, the food was awful. I began with a charred Caesar salad and it was ice cold, everything was clumped together. My pork chop was so dry, I left
most of it on my plate and I rarely don’t finish. The dessert was the worst of all, zeppoles that were so dried out and stale they could have been used as ping pong balls. I won’t go back again.
I want to love this restaurant but I can’t... yet. There is tremendous potential. The space is great but a bit loud to carry a conversation.
The overall service at the front desk isn’t welcoming. The young ladies seem preoccupied and rather aloof . We called to make a reservation and were told there’s nothing available. I went to open table to find another restaurant and there was Gigante with a few reservations available.
How is this possible...? The restaurant was busy but there were tables available. The service was amateurish at best. The wine list wasn’t immediately available. We had to wait to order appetizers because we couldn’t find the waiter ... bread was not delivered. The appetizers came out before the wine. Water glasses weren’t filled until we had to ask ... twice. It appeared that they may have been short staffed ... but there were three young women at the reception desk talking and ignoring people.
The food came out warm not hot ... another indication that they are not in sync with the kitchen.
Overall, I would go back because it’s a lovely restaurant and close to home. I’m an optimist so I hope they correct the issues.
Hard to believe Westchester Magazine rated this as one of the top ten restaurants to try during Hudson Valley Restaurant week! I was underwhelmed, to say the least. For my appetizer I ordered Burrata with with sweet potato purée. Presentation was lovely. Unfortunately the Burrata was not creamy inside but was more like Mozzarella.
My entree was chicken Scarpariello. Nice presentation, chicken Frenched, good flavors. Lava cake dessert had a nice twist but the Zeppole dessert was not as interesting. The dough was tough and dense. Not to be unkind but I’ve had better at street fairs.
Wine selections were a nice assortment and reasonably priced. The waiters need to know that when a wine bottle is ordered, it needs to be tasted by the person who ordered it before pouring for other guests.
We dined on a Friday night. The restaurant was extremely crowded and the live band was not conducive to a nice evening out with friends.
The space is very interesting, dark and sleek. Unfortunately, the stone floor and lack of table cloths, carpeting and other sound absorbing items made it very noisy even though it was only half full.
The food was tasty and generous. Wines by the glass were nice quality (we tried two Italian varieties). Other than the meat on our two main entrees, however, everything else could have been hotter. This is unfortunate because the food was very tasty. Chocolate dessert cake was extremely sweet, but there are several choices.
Service was attentive and friendly.
In short, nice food and service in a dark modern setting that we found too noisy.
We were there for Restaurant Week, so I can’t comment on the prices.
The place itself looks very elegant. The service was really good. I think the owner talked to me but I wasn't sure but he was very friendly. The food was very good and delicious.
Sat us 20 minutes late after our reservation time
Happily surprised sat this discovery - will be back - even though noisy because the food and service was great and a pretty space!
Fun with a family dinner included 93 year old dad and 7 month old granddaughter.
Wonderful Sunday Dinner and a lovely birthday dinner/celebration. The staff was attentive and the atmosphere is welcoming.
Was a great find for my wife and I. Food was very good ambiance we nice, good background music, We will definitely go back
Excellent and creative cuisine with large portions, excellent service and wonderful ambiance both inside and outside. I recommend highly and will definitely return.
Nice menu choices, good that some moderate price options. Service was good but it did take a long time to get our food and given that the restaurant was not that crowded it was surprising. Décor is wonderful, makes it feel festive and special.
Excellent food, terrific service and great ambiance. A wonderful special event space.
It was mostly ok. Its the 2nd time I was there.
I am used to the service at Mulino's and this is not quite as good.
Best Food,, Best Value, Best Ambiance, Best Service Outstanding
Irving Ayash
Seated right away because we were the only patrons there at the time. Food was good in the sense that it came out with the right temp but presentation lacking. Wait service was ok, nothing exceptional. First time here. Probably will not go back because it did not impress enough.
Great evening for a friend’s birthday. Mariano was our waiter & he was very professional, friendly and prompt.
We’ll return and will try also the Thursday evening with music. Thank you.
I have been to Gigante several times and I always enjoy the atmosphere, food and service. We had a long leisurely dinner.
My only complaint was how loud it was... maybe where we were seated was a particularly boisterous crowd, but otherwise it was great.
Highly impressed with this restaurant. Beautiful ambiance inside and outdoor seating areas. The service was excellent - everyone was friendly from the maitre d, the server, the bus boys and even the owner Tommy, stopped by to check that the air temperature and the food was to our satisfaction. Menu is varied - the meatball was excellent (the parmesan cheese you could tell was imported) and I was very happy with the halibut. The chicken scarp was good, not great. LOVED the ice cream sandwich dessert. The restaurant also brought over a free dessert with a candle, as they knew it was my husband's birthday. We are greatly looking forward to going back and trying other items on the menu.
Small menu, excellent fresh food. Servers were very attentive. Ambiance was very nice. Already recommended to several people. Will be coming back!!
Excellent service, food, and beautiful decor!!
It's a little cheesy. The food is mediocre at best. But the service was very good.
