We decide in last min that no one is cooking anything for dinner so we gonna visit Gibsons Italia instead our fav Gibson original location.
Outstanding service (we are both in same industry so yes we judge , I believe his name was Brian I am terrible with names we sat at the booth ), outstanding and very tasteful dinner dozen oysters, chicago cut , mushrooms , Brussels sprouts, double baked potato and absolutely delicious desserts !!!
Great wine selection And great ambiance
We are local residents and surly will be back no question asked!!!
Waited for 25 min for a table not sure why made a reservation.
I enjoyed the lunch. About 4 hours after the meal, my stomach started rumbling, things started moving around down there rather rapidly, and there was some moderate cramping. It passed after an hour or so, although the following morning my routine, as it were, was far from, shall we say, normal. I didn't have any breakfast other than a banana, which is my usual routine. I was thankful that I did not have serious symptoms, as I have had on several occasions after eating out, and was glad to not have to go to the ER. I realize this can happen anywhere, but I would urge you to be very cautious in your food handling.
Amazing! Would definitely go back!
Great food and great service
Have been there a bunch of times! The menu is great and has us coming back for more!
Great service. Small servings.
Wonderful anniversary lunch! Great service and ambiance. Even surprised us with a dessert to celebrate... made my entire day!
Wonderful view, food & service!
Showed up early and waited for awhile on 2nd floor. Staff at desk chatted and it was awkward. Great views and vibe but it’s Wed and need to treat customers with more respect. I dine out frequently in big cities with clients and this was not good.
It is a great Chicago Restaurent but it is super crazy loud!!,
The best of life and Italian food. The place to celebrate Chicago & success. Delicious class.
Excellent food, view & service
Seated on second floor along the windows allowing for a great view of the Chicago skyline. Service was great. We had steak and sides, all were excellent. However, wine markup over retail was higher than expected.
Great for a business lunch!
They squeeze too many patrons in the restaurant space, and they need to eliminate some tables to give people a little breathing room. First table we sat at, I was constantly banged into, as other patrons passed by. I did get a different table when I asked, but the new location was still very tight. I saw this problem everywhere in the room. Bottom line, the food was good, as was the service. But, I won't go back again because the seating is very uncomfortable.
Dana was a great server!
Great food and service for a second time, so I will be back.
Wonderful service - amazing food - great ambiance!
Birthday for wife
The service and ambiance at Gibson’s Italia was excellent. And the flavor and temperature on the bone-in ribeye I ordered was perfect. Unfortunately, when my steak hit the table it was lukewarm at best. Likewise, two of our side dishes (the mushrooms and potato purée) were virtually cold when they arrived at the table. Pretty disappointing given the price point.
Wonderful meal and our server was great!!
This was my third visit to the new location. My first two visits were very positive and certainly led me to visit again. The latest visit was a huge disappointment. The food was not in keeping with our prior experience. In addition, while the waiter was attentive, the wait time was not worth the experience.
Our service at Gibson's Italia was perfect. Our server was very attentive and informative about the menu offerings. We also were taken care of from the moment we walked in the door by our maitre'd, Kaleigh Mazzone. The food was fantastic--elegant, delicious and impressive. I highly recommend coming here for a celebration or a birthday party, like us!
Everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful when it came to suggestions on the menu. It was our first time there and was beyond our expectations.
Amazing views and great atmosphere. The food was good, as should be expected for the prices, although having an entree that was barely warm on top and almost cold on the underside was disappointing.
Nikalia was amazing!!!
The nicest restaurant in Chicago and consistently excellent food and service.
Food was cold, service was average
Love the food! Love the service! They even give you a mini glass of champagne when you sit down. My co-workers loved the vibe and menu. I actually prefer this location over the original Gibson’s. Can’t wait till my next visit to Gibson’s Italia.
Great dinner but all food was cold
The salads and pastas were outstanding, including the burrata prosciutto appetizer. Very much Gibsons quality. Also, just like Gibsons, the tables are VERY close and the noise level is quite high (as in it was hard to hear our waiter, high). It seemed to be a lot of afterwork folks, so it actually calmed down and was more pleasant as the evening went on. I'd recommend the pastas; they had a wonderful "chew".
Menu limited and skip idea of substituting ( baked potato vs their pre-made 2x potato)
Loud- hard to hear during a busy noon hour seating.
Freezing cold - while in the 40’s outside, air conditioning blasted over our table. Request to adjust went no where.
Food sent back to reheat- soup, for example, was luke warm.
Overall, wont go back. Surprised, as Gibson on Rush, in Oak Brook and Rosemont offer a terrific experience for business or personal.
The view and ambience can’t be beat. Outstanding service consistently. Can’t recommend him more highly
My husband and I went for a quick trip to Chicago. This was the only nice dinner we scheduled. One of my favorite parts of the trip!
